Peavey 410 TXF Bass Cabinet

This cab will handle anything you throw at it. It is especially GREAT for stage shows where you want to throw a lot of sound and fill the air. Mega low end, yet warm, crispy highs without the cringe.

I give it an 8 because it weighs 100 lbs and has no casters. I live upstairs. If I was on ground level, and had a truck, it would be a 10.

This cabinet sounds simply AMAZING ! I had my SWR Goliath III next to my Peavey 410 TXF. I left the volume on the amp where it was. I plugged the speaker cable in the peavey, and then into the SWR. It made the SWR sound like a toy.

It's a Peavey. Enough said.

I hate the idea of 100 lbs, and no wheels, but if I rate this lower than a 10, I bring the whole average down.

For what this cabinet's REAL purpose is ; to make the bass LOUD, clear, and earthshaking, it's without a question a 10.

This cab is very simple. one 1/4" input jack on the back, and a knob to adjust the tweeter volume from 0 to 10. it's a 4ohm cab that handles 350 watts continuous with peak power at 700 watts.

I give it an 8 because some would prefer to have the stereo/bi amping ability, but i love the simplicity.

i never really liked the tweeter in mine, but i've always loved the thump of the speakers. they can seriously move air, and for the price can be a cheaper alternative to the pricey ampeg half stacks.
i've used 3 different amplifiers through it and have been able to get just about any sound i was looking for, i even managed to tweak it to work with my epiphone rivoli hollowbody bass for this classic rock group i served a little time with. depending on the size of the venue, and amp plugged in, it's the kind of thing i had to get asked to turn down because i was overpowering the guitarists.

this is by far the best feature of any peavey product, it simply will not die. this cabinet is no exception. the carpeted outside will take some cosmetic damage, but i have had this cab fall out of the back of a truck and it played fine the next day.

never had to deal with it, worked fine since day 1

this cabinet has seen morethan it's fair share of the country and keeps going strong. i've thought about upgrading to an ampeg a few times but honestly for the venues we play i have no need for more power.

i'd give it a 10 overall, and if you stole it, i'd hunt you down and get it back, no doubt about it.

I have to take a wild guess and say that I have the Peavey cab for about 5 years now.
It's a TXF 410, 350 watts continue and 700 watt's programm (rms) watt's. It has 4 10" Sheffield speakers and a tweeter. There's a rotary control for the tweeter output on the Jack-input-plate.
It's actualy the predicessor (I hope I wrote it correct !) of the TVX 410 Peavey has now. The only difference is that the TXF is carpet-covered and the TVX is vinyl covered.

I had a 8 ohm 200 watt's Crate 410 cab at the time that didn't do it for me.
The Crate 410 cab, though, was Tolex covered. That's a tough flokking that really didn't wear off. The carpet on the Peavey TXF is crap, it wears off and comes loose.

This is why I bought it ! It didn't matter were I was standing in the store, I could hear everything I played . While the Crate 410 had this thing were the sound changed when you were off-axis with the speakers.
The Peavey goes way deep ! I play a 6-string and some 5-strings through it, with the B-string tuned to A. It deliveres beautyfully !! Cause I took the Peavy logo off, some people think it's a SWR cab ! That's how well it sounds...

It seems that it's unbreakable, cause it fell, it tumbled, it got wet... nothing seems to harm it. It gets really abused, but beside the carpet coming off, it keeps on going. Also, the Peavey reliability is truly legendary. I think I 'd have to burn it to get it broken... when I look at my fellow-musicians with their Hartke XL 410, two times the price of my Peavey, with yet another speaker blown, I just laugh !

I only have one cab, so I never have a back-up. Don't need to !

Since Peavey stuff don't break, I wouldn't know !

I've been playing for 15 years now, and owned a lot of stuff. If this cab DOES break down, I'd buy another one ASAP ! Peavey rules when it comes to speakers.

I bought it cause it was half the price of the 4 ohm Ampeg 410 cab those days, and it sounded equal as good. It has a massive weight and volume that makes it go as low as an average 15" cab, but with the expression of an 4 x 10". I traded in my Crate 410, that didn't came, by far, at the output of the Peavey TXF 410.
Because of the 4 ohm, it takes full advantage of any amp with only one cab ! I use to play it through a Crate BT 350 watt's head, but now it's hooked on a Crest 900 watt's Poweramp. SOLID ROCK !!

Early 21st century model, not made anymore. 4 Kevlar impregnated speakers and a cloth tweeter. The tweeter has a pot on the back to controll level. The cross-over is a sweet piece of work that has an overload shut off, so you don't trash the tweeter. I just recently bought this cab and will have to sell it because it is too big for my car. Wish I could keep it otherwise. Handles 350 RMS and 700 program (peak?).

I'm playing a Peavey T-20 from the early eighties. Very simple, well made bass. I am playing the new Behringer BX3000T head through it. I sounds just great.

This cab is built like a rock. I foresee no problems with it.

For the money, this is a great cab. If stolen, I would hate to see the crook who could run down the street carrying this huge cab. You would not want to get involved with his capture. You can't go wrong with this cab. A great value.
