Mine is the classic model with tweed covering. It's a 90's cab and is in good condition, minus the logo on the front. This cab was purchased from the original owner who gigged and recorded extensively in the 90's with it and played in a very popular band so it's got some history to it. I give it an 8 because of the covering but other than that it's amazing. It's not light and it's made of plywood instead of partical board.

Sound Quality : 10
From the first note I heard out of this cab I was in love with the tone. It doesn't matter what you play thru it, it sounds great. Plenty of punch, low bass and blume. This is a very efficient cab and at 8ohms it's louder than my Avatar 1X15 at 4 ohms.

Reliability : 10
Based on the age and history of this particular cab I'd say you have to put this 4X10 in the catagory of "It's Peavey and therefore indestructable".

Customer Support : 8
As large companies go I'd say Peavey is better than most.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing guitar for twenty five years and Bass for three. I started out with an SWR Workingmans 4004 head and the afore mentioned 1X15 cab. This easily replaces that can and will work super as a stand alone cab. It's a great mate with this head.

I bought this cab in the early 90's to replace a 2X15 silver face Fender cab I was using (I wish I had it now). I had just joined a band playing bass. Previously I played lead/rythm guitar and Keyboards in other bands although I played bass in jazz band in high school and had always owned a bass ( a Travis Bean I really wish I still had) to mess around with and do impromptu jams.
Originally I used it with a Peavey Mark IV. I think this delivered about 160 @ 8 ohms. The 410TX was more than capable!!!! This was a better set up than what I had been using, a Peavey KB300 keyboard amp (really not that bad for bass but no power) As I grew as a bass player my equipment tastes, needs and budget grew.
I purchased a Trace Elliott AH350 to replace the Peavey Mark and the 410TX easily handled the gain in power and tone. For years this was my gigging setup. I did purchase a Trace Elliott 1X15 cab (a 1518 I believe they called it) when I though I needed more bottom but soon found myself leaving it at home and only using the Peavey 410TX.
Fast forward 15 years or so and I am still in gigging bands and have added and sold many amp and cab settups but I still have my Trace Elliott AH350 and still have my Peavey 410TX.
This 410 is built like a tank. It has carpeted sides so it doesn't show dings and scratches, a heavy metal grill and 4 of the ballsiest and full sounding 10's I have ever heard.

It's a 4x10 cab with a tweeter that will take whatever you throw at it!

Sound Quality : 10
Currently this cab is in one of my practice spaces although I do take it out from time to time. For practice I use it with the Trace Elliott AH350 and sometimes run an Ampeg SVP preamp or Bass Pod through the Trace into the Peavey. It always sounds great!
I have a large selection of basses. From hi-tech high dollar 5 strings to old hollow body basses and everything in between. My typical favorites are Fender Jazz basses (some stock, some active)but this cab works with anything I plug in.
I like to run my head hard on the front end and get a very powerfull thick sound with lots of bass and mids present. I hate a rinky dink, scooped out, clicky sound!!!! Wheither I play through an Ampeg, GK, SWR, Trace, Bergantino etc..... I always dial up a similar tone. This cab sounds great. It really pushed the air with a sweet tone.

I have been known to set off building and car alarms with this cab. It can take it!!!!

Reliability : 10
I have owned this cab for almost 15 years. It has NEVER let me down and still sounds great.

I have had other cabinets by SWR, Eden, Hartke, Ampeg and others that had the speaker blow both in sound and physically. Honestly I feel Eden makes a decent cab, the old Hartkes were cool in their own way as are old Ampegs (especially 8X10s) but SWR makes a seriously shitty cabinet.
Through the years I have had a Big Ben, Henry 8x8x,Goliath and Tri something?? and they were aweful cabs. They seemed cool in the store but once you got them on stage it was like buzzy mud. The only SWR I currently own is a Super Rehead with upgraded Emminence speakers. It's much better than stock but SWR's porting sucks! I only use this amp for small gigs.
Peavey has been shat on for years. Yeah, they have made their fair share of crap over the years but so has almost everyone else. This cab is a definite winner. I have actually contemplated picking up a couple of new ones because I like mine soooooo much. I hope I have half the luck I have had with mine.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I have never dealt with Peavey so I can't form an honest opinion

I forget what the warrenty was probably 6 months.

Overall Rating : 10
For the money you WILL NOT find a better 4X10.

***NOTE: this 410TX review was wrongly placed (by me) in the 410T reviews***

4X10 rear-ported, with a Fostex horn, back panel attenuator control knob, and Kevlar-impregnated drivers (which just SOUNDS tough!) Black duratex carpet cover, metal corners, big handles. 1/4" inputs only. 14 gauge wiring inside with fiberglass batting. I added casters.

At about 90 pounds, it's a real bitch for a geezer like me to get up and down the basement steps. That's the only negative; -1.

Sound Quality : 10
A 1995 Bass Player magazine did a shootout with 4X10 bass cabs under $1000, and several blindfolded experts thought this Peavey was a $999 Eden or SWR. My first 4X10 was a Carvin, so when I tried out the Peavey for the first time, I almost wept! Thunderous, rich lows, beautiful mids. The Carvin is now a cat-scratching post.

I've experimented with a 15" and 18" cab in conjunction with the Peavey 410T, but it's never added enough woomph to make me buy one.

Quite a few times, I've had good bassists come up to me at gigs, and comment on how good my bass rig sounds (G&L 2500 bass, Ampeg 350H head). I'm not a great player, but the Peavey helps me sound that way.

Post-Script: True story--I recently bought an SWR Goliath II on Ebay. It arrived, I plugged it in and A-B'd tested it against my Peavey 410TX. The Peavey sounded BETTER, deeper, smoother. Not a lot, but enough to where it didn't justify me keeping the SWR, which I re-listed and sold on Ebay two weeks later.

Reliability : 10
My cab's five years old. Utterly dependable. Forget about it crashing.

Customer Support : No Opinion
It never goes south, so no opinion.

Overall Rating : 10
Again, respectable bass players have told me my rig sounds impressive. From a blind audio taste-test, the Peavey could be in the same league as bass audiophile equipment, only it was hundreds less.

Equipment geeks probably aren't impressed unless they see a David Eden or SWR logo. But in a club situation, when I dip down into that low D, and it melts ear wax and messes up the hair of the audience, they dig it. At $400, it's a great bass cab.

Anyone want a Carvin, cheap?

4x10 cab, rear port, tweater and attn. recessed handles, I would have liked removeable casters, but whatever

Sound Quality : 8
I play a ton of festivals and fairs, some have a backline, some don't. I am yet to use another high price set up that makes me wish that I owened it over my set up. Sure, if the gig has a full SWR stack, it will sound a bit better, but for the extra money, I would get a great DI and some good PUs. Let's be honest, bass amps are glorified monitors in this setting. I have always gotten a great, clean sound out of this. I run it with an 1100 watt crown amp, and yes, it will break up at high SPLs, but the trick to getting around this is to take the volume knob on your amp and turn it slightly counterclockwise until the breakup stops. THese speakers let you know when they are hurting, but they can handle a lot of juice. I'm going to give it an 8, but if this was a ranking for the dollar, I would give it a 10. Much better than anything in the price range.

Reliability : 10
Had mine since '96 and I play about 100 shows a year. No problem ever. It is the piece of gear my rig that I feel is the least likely to go down at a show. Like a tank.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never needed it.

Overall Rating : 10
I am simi pro and have been playing for about 15 years now, and I'm only 24. I would only buy another brand now because people tend to scoff at Peavy gear. I took the logo off of mine so I don't hear about it too often. A lot of their stuff does suck, but they are hit and miss, and this cab is a hit. I have taken it from Fusion, to Funk, to Metal, and to church and back. It sounds like your bass does, so don't try to use it to cover already crappy sound. Bottom line, 4x10 cabs are great. They all lack a bit of bottom end when you are in front of it, but due to the physical nature of Bass frequencies, this is a good thing becuuse it will sound better to the audience. This cab blows away most others in the price range, if this is your budget, it is better than the low line ampegs, SWR workingmans, and carvins. Amazing value.

90s model. Got it off of a "friend" who tried to steal it back after he realized how cool it could sound, but thats another story. I dont really know that much about this cab. It has a horn....I hate that thing. It sounds great for bass, but terrible for guitar usually.

Sound Quality : 8
I do anything from Meatpuppets/Dinosaur Jr. to David Bowie/etc. with this cab. It sounds great with a bass, I use a 70s Epiphone s-270(?) and a 90s Epiphone Thunderbird with this amp. The Thunderbird sounds amazing through it. I use an Electro Harmonix Big Muff Reissue (guitar pedal) with it and then the heads effects.

Reliability : 8
Its newer and has been well kept....ill probably be using it for a few years to come with no worries. Built like a tank...114 lbs I think.

I bought this cabinet new in 1993. It's been worked hard; but, I've managed to keep it in good condition. The Kevlar speakers have a huge sound and the adjustabele tweeter adds a nice crispness.

Sound Quality : 10
I've used this cab with Big Bands, small jazz combos, rock bands--just about every style and setting--and it has served me well. Obviously, the cab can only sound as good as your amp will let it! Garbage in--garbage out! I've used a Fender BXR 400 with it for years and it sounded GREAT!

Reliability : 10
I've never had ANY problem with it at all. Very well-made. I've never had to service it or do anything to it but plug it up and play! I've only made sure to keep it clean (dust off the speakers, etc.)

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never had to use them.

Overall Rating : 9
This has been a great cabinet. I don't use it anymore because it's too blasted heavy (about 100 lbs.) and it won't fit in my trunk. My only complaint is the weight and lack of casters.

Solid bass cab with 4 10-inch spkrs. You'll never break it, it's roadworthy. However, there is a built in horn in the centre of the cabinet that one would assume would handle the power, but it only lasted the first month. I have two other of these cabs as well and all horns have died a crackly, buzzy death. If you want highs, buy yourself a cab with aluminum 10's. (Mesa, Bullfrog, etc.)

Sound Quality : 10
Play an Ibanez Musician, Fender P-Bass with actives, Squier 5 string and Yamaha RBX-750 w/ actives. This cab handles it all, even the low B from the 5 string, although a 15 or 18 inch spkr adds some meat.

Reliability : 10
I've used this cab indoors and out, it's been scratched by cats, abused by my kids and even rained on. The corner protectors are dented and rusted and are a testament to the ruggedness of this design.

Customer Support : 6
Never needed it. I've easily rewired it from 8 ohms to 4 with little effort.

Overall Rating : 10
I would buy another if anything ever happened to mine. The horn is the only downside to the cab. I can customize my sound with my amp, a Peavey Nitrobass with a Hiwatt STA200 slaved to it to send the higher frequencies through the top of my stack with the lows driving out the bottoms.
