I believe the cabinet was made in 2002, just guessing according to the numbers on the back. I play a lot of old school rock, punk and jam type psycho rock. It has handling power for anything I can throw at it. I play through a Hartke 3500 Mosfet head and an upgraded Fender jazz, and it has plenty of punch and handles high as well as low watts extremely well. It only has one input on the back, and a control for the tweeter. I think the tweeter is a nice addition to the obviously balls out sound of the 4 12's. At 1200 watts of peak, it is more cabinet then anyone would normally need. Don't really need any other cabinets with this one.

Sound Quality : 10
My Fender Jazz has Bass Line pick ups in it, so the punch is already there in anything I play through, but this cabinet brings out the rich tone and the deep bass sound I try for. I play quite muddy at times and it can get as muddy as you want and keeps its clarity. I like the feature of the adjustable tweeter, but I do keep it turned down a lot preferring limited highs in the bass sound.

Reliability : 10
I wouldn't have any problem with this being my only bass cabinet. I have a variety of bass amp/speaker cab. combinations. (215, 118, 410,...) this one is the over all best cab. in my arsenal. It is the almost perfect combination of everything. Awsome product!!!

I haven't had any trouble with my 412 at all! I have only heard that Peavey is very good with c.s.

Overall Rating : 10
If you are thinking of buying one of these puppies, I would say get it while you can. I understand that these are very limited in numbers and people who buy them normally keep them. I don't see how you could find any BETTER. Maybe as good if you pay a heafty price, but not better. I am very glad I was fortunate enough to find mine, good luck finding one for you. Anyone who think they are too cool for Peavey... try this one out... you may just be surprised. It is constructed very well, and built like a velvet lined tank. Like EVERYONE else says... THIS THING IS A BEAST!!!!! VERY VERY HEAVY!!!! (Approx. 130 lbs.) But, it does have casters!!!!!! (Joy!!)

Not sure what year it was made but it is the last of the 4x12 cabs they have now been discontinued. This cab is plenty versatile it can do smooth and clean or deep and fuzzy or anywhere in between. And can it move some air. But it is much tighter and punchier than my SWR Workingmans 4x10. It also hav a variable attenuator for the horn and that is a good thing lets you vbary the level from off to full on. And horn protection circuit. The downside is very heavy and only one input jack so no cab chaining.

Sound Quality : 10
I play mostly classic rock and funk. I mostly use a Fender American Jazz Bass, A Peavey T-40 or a Fender (MIM) Deluxe zone bass. I would guess that this cab can handle whatever you throw at it. A friend of mine plays a lot of slap and pop and he really likes it with the peavey firebass head. It is actually cuiet when it is supposed to be and plenty noisy when you feed it. It can make just about any sound you might be able to make with A bass. And it can handle a low b like nothing. The only time I got this cab to distort was when I turned up the gain way past 10, Or when I used a distortion pedal. It can do distortion with the best of them Use the Big Pi Or the rat on my line 6 bass pod and you get distortion but under control.

Reliability : 8
I would not have a problem playing this cab without a backup you know the peavey reputastion. I can not see this thing failing in the future it would need a seriously crazy powerful amp to hurt it.

Customer Support : 9
Never had to deal with peavey but have had no problem getting information from then on their forums. I have had no problemd with this cab and the previous owner did not either.

Overall Rating : 9
This cab flat out rocks. Can Do lows like my 2x15 Mesa Boogie diesel and is a lot cleaner and more defined up top but it does have the advantage of having a horn. If it were stolen I would go to the hospital and find out what room the guy with the hernia was in then I would get it back or try to find a new one or a used one in good condition. I Hate the weight 135 pounds that is a lot of weight. What I like it has casters so moving it around is really not too bad. I love the tone Phat deerp punchy and clean. Just a gerat cab for what I paid for it. I wish it had an out jack for connecting to a second speaker cab. I want to try it with my peaver 6x10. see what it sounds like. This thing is built like a tank but the tolex as usual is fragile and rips fairly easily.

Specs as above, why repeat it? I play heavily downtuned metal stuff (five string bass tuned one step down), often with a distortion pedal, but also some more melodic, rock stuff. This cab handles it with no prob. It's got all I really need, especially casters. I bought it rather recently, so I haven't had a chance to play more than couple of gigs with it, but on the last one somehow I didn't get plugged into PA and I crushed the audience with my bassings :) I use Hartke 4000 head and Spector Rex2000/5 with it.

Sound Quality : 9
Just great, what I needed. Warm, full, round tone, enough lows but no loose "boom" down there, tweeter takes care of the trebles, which is important with the distortion pedal stepped on. I'd give it a 10, but one bassist I know wanted to borrow it for a recording session and then said "it's not what he was looking for", so maybe it's not absolutly perfect :)

Reliability : No Opinion
As far as I know I'm a third person who owns it and I bought it recently, as I said, so I have nothing to complain at. Time will show, as for now everthing seems OK.

I've been playing for 8 years now, I went from blues-rock thru thrash metal thru new metal to industrial-core, so I covered a lot of musical territory :) I have played a couple of amps and cabs, guitars as well, and this one rates quite high. I didn't want to mess with several cabs, so I was looking for something versatile, and 4x12 is just what I needed. Sounds good enough, I'm thinking about adding some 10' speaker thing, but it's just a "maybe someday" kind of musing. Power handling is fine as well, I can crank up my Hartke with no fear and subdue them guitarplayers (loud and deaf, both of them), not to mention the drummer.
And bless Peavey guys for the casters, it's heavy as a really heavy thing :)

This cab handles anything. The horn gives you infinite possibilities. I use this cab in a punk band and it delivers all the impact that we need.

Sound Quality : 10
I use a Stingray with the Piezo bridge on a 50/50 mix with the humbucker. Amp is an Ampeg SVT-3 Pro running at 4 ohms so 450 watts. I couldn't do that until I got this cabinet, due to boominess. This cab is perfect if you want to be heard at all angles. In summation Clear, Thumping, Powerful, Fast,

Reliability : 10
Only thing that Breaks is the car I load it into.

I replaced my Mesa Boogie 4x10 with this cab and I never look back. Fear of Peavey is definately overcome by age. The only negative thing about this cab is it's size and weight, but thats the price you have to pay to move that kind of air. The value for the money is great and I reccomend it to all that have hatchbacks or trucks. It's huge.

The sound of the 412 TVX is very impressive. I use a Peavey Max pre-amp and a Mackie 1400i power amp with active and passive 4 string fretted (Fender Ps) and fretless (Fender A/E P and Rob Allen MB2) basses. Both in dual channel mono (500 w) and bridged mode (1400 w), the cabinet produces excellent tonal response from thundering lows to well defined and crisp highs.

For those who enjoy brighter tones, the horn tweeter is very responsive and can be adjusted to just about any setting one can wish for. As with the other horn-equipped Peavey cabinet that I own, the 210 TXF, I rarely set the crossover higher than 9 o'clock. With the horn off, the 12" speakers produce great round tone - so there is something for all tastes here.

The cab moves a lot of air within a wide frequency band. You can definitely crank your amp up and shake the walls!

Reliability : 10
Peavey, IMO, is synonimous with reliability. This cabinet is no exception.

Customer Support : 10
Peavey is great to deal with - nice, friendly and responsive people.

Overall Rating : 10
The 412 TVX lists at $749 and is typically available from dealers for much less. It provides excellent value for the money, as do all Peavey bass amplification products, in my opinion. There are very few 412 cabinets available and this is one that every bassist interested in full and powerful tone (and who anticipates always having help to move the unit!) should investigate. You really don't need any additional cabinets with the 412 - it can handle just about anything in terms of power and tonal range.

For those who want to try out the cabinet, the challenge is finding a dealer who stocks them! My experience with Peavey has been nothing short of excellent so I just ordered the cabinet through my local dealer and was not disappointed.
