800 watts @ 4 ohms, 8 10" sheffield speakers and a (foster?) tweeter with crossover. The sheffields sound great! As does the tweeter!

It's a cab...so there's not too many features to speak of. Comes with back/ bottom wheels and handles on the top back edge. I really like the metal grill to potect the speakers. Also covered in black carpet (more durable then tolex...but not as good looking...)

It's hard to move, and I've had to replace the wheels already (after 10 years though...) because of the size and weight. That's why I gave it a 9, but other then those I absolutly love this cab!

Sound Quality : 10
I'm pushing a Peavey Sessionbass head (200 watts) with a Fender J and Fender P. This cab really brings out the J's and P's tone! Big bottom fromt he P! and awesome mids twang from the J!

This cab really does create a WALL OF SOUND! I'm pushing only 200 watts of power through this cab and play in a band where the guitarist plays through a Gibson GR-15 and Fender Blues Deluxe(it gets very loud.) I have never ever ever had a problem with getting heard! We play everything from outdoor fairs to large and small clubs and I've never had volume issues. Big bottom from this cab, but also awesome deffinition!

In addition to electic basses I also play a 1943 Kay through this cab and it too sounds awesome! ( I gig with a peavey 410tx however...it's tough carrying an upright! haha)

Reliability : 9
The only problem I have ever had with this cab is the wheels. The wheels are not able to handle the weight of the cab. But that's it. The cab is built like a tank! So heavey though...but worth ever pound of it!

Giving it a 9 cause of the wheels.

I've never had to deal directly with Peavey. I bought this cab used, so it's not under warrenty anyway. I've heard Peavey is great to deal with though.

Overall Rating : 10
I've been playing electric bass for about 7 years and upright for abot 3 and played through every possible rig you could think of... Peavey, Ampeg (old and new), Fender, SWR, Hartke, Berringer, and lots of high end and boutique amps and cabs. Nothing beats the Peavey 810TX!

I've also pushed an Ampeg SVT through the 810TX and it too sounded awesome. (Much better then the ampeg 810 that was sitting right beside it.)

If it were stolen I'd def. be on the look out for a new one one!

I dont know too much about it. It has 8 10" speakers, and i think its rated 400watts. Its not the newest ones with the vinyl covering, but the one with the carpet. It has a tweeter and volume control. Strong metal grill. Does not have side handles that make it REALLY tough if you deal with stairs (I DO!). Very heavy, but i think that is what gives it such great tone. Big cab, very strong. But then again, im a big guy ;)

Sound Quality : 10
Right now i have a washburn RB-4000 neck-through electric bass with a peavey firebass 700 head. Its running 475 watts at 4 ohms if i remember correctly. And boy does this thing sound great! This is really my dream cab. I tried and heard live, ampeg and SWR 810s that dont come close to the sound of the peavey! At least 2X the sound quality. And can you say THICK bass!?!? Playing rock music needs loud thick bass. It also has a roughness to it that sounds awesome, but still sounds smooth at the same time. It moves lots of air with ease. I do use a BBE sonic maximizer, and since the bass is almost too much, i run the high pass cross over on the head to cut below 100hz. But you wouldnt know it. Really, this helps a lot to clear up the tone, and puts more power into the more important frequency ranges that people actually hear. I cant really hear much distortion if any. The horn can get noisy, but my maximizer causes most of the hiss. Overall, just awesome.

Reliability : 9
Peavey makes their stuff tough. I dont worry unless someone dropped it. Since its so heavy it might damage itself if dropped, but i dont want to find out. Terrible mobility, especially with stairs. I actually pulled a back muscle the first night i bought it. So really it deserves a 10, but my back says otherwise.

Never dealt with them. Got it used at music go round.

Been playing for 7 or 8 years now. Ive tried 15's 410's 210's but nothing comes close to this cabinet! I dont think i would buy another because i would never find this deal again. I love the tone, but hate the weight. The size is not easy to fit in normal vehicles. It needs more handles. Really, if you need a loud full sound, dont waste time or money on ampeg, SWR, or any other big name, peavey will blow them out of the water. But i give a 9 because of the lack of handles.

Hi, there! It's me again!
When I wrote my first review on this cab, I was using a Peavey PV 8.5C power-amp, an Ampeg SVP-PRO pre-amp and a Warwick Corvette STD-bass... Now I use an Ampeg SVT-3PRO and a Warwick Streamer STD.

Remember the hiss I was constantly referring in my previous review? Thanks to my new amp it is gone!!! Just pure and beautiful/brutal tone...

I gave this one an "8" due to the hiss and side-handles, but since the hiss is gone, I can proudly give it a "9".

A huge bass cabinet with eight ten inch speakers and a tweeter (thus the name 810TX). I'm not sure, but I think they're the standard Peavey 121 kevlar impregnated speakers. It handles maximum 800 watts.

When I say huge, I mean it: it's as big as my "fridge" and probably weighs more than it! Luckily it has two wheels at the bottom and two handles on top of the cabinet... though I wish it had side-handles.
Other than that I am content.

Sound Quality : 8
I am using a Warwick Corvette Std. bass (check out my review on it as well), a Peavey PV-8.5C power amp and an Ampeg SVP-PRO tube pre-amp. I play mostly with my fingers and occasionally slap the bass in a progressive rock band ala Tool and this cab delivers what I want and expect to hear! The 10" speakers dish out a brutal tone with lots of highs, mids and lows... beautiful and crunchy all-round tone.

Although when you crank up the high frequency on the cabinet (found on the back, next to the input), it becomes rather noisy! Makes no difference when playing loud, but when playing at lower volume levels or not playing at all, it can get really annoying!
For me, this is not a problem since I "turn it up", but I'll still shave off some points for the noise...

Reliability : 10
I compared it to the Ampeg Classic 8x10" (which costs approx. 300 dollars more) and the Peavey won the reliability test! Surprised?
While the Ampeg has a soft cover to protect the speakers, the Peavey has a solid metal grill and will withstand harder blows to the speakers! (The main reason for those extra 300 bucks is simply more power, since the Ampeg handles 1600watts...)

I would definitely use this cabinet on a gig without a backup!

Never dealt with them.

I have been playing for about six years and also own a Peavey Microbass combo (for homepractise), an ESP/ltd b-105 bass and an Ibanez SA-160MG guitar.

If this cabinet was stolen I'd probably buy another one, although it would cost me twice as much since I bought this one used.
I love the sound and power, but damn, it's heavy!

I compared it to the Ampeg Classic 8x10" and if you want to know why I chose the Peavey, then read the RELIABILITY-test again!
Also, as said before, I wish it had side-handles due to the difficulties of transportation.

All in all; great sound, but annoying hiss when not playing (or playing at lower volume levels) if you crank up the high frequency! If not for this and the lack of side-handles, I would give it a full pot.

If anyone has any questions or comments, please feel free to e-mail me.
