i imagine it to be some sort of 70's model, solid state w/ an actual DISTORTION channel & a clean channel as well that does switch w/ this marshall footswitch of mine; plenty of power to kick major *** for whatever style is needed...

i've got a bunch of basses & it just keeps kickin' everythings *** over & over; loud is loud esp. w/ DISTORTION on! the clean channel cleans up just fine i think but it was designed to be brutal & you're not gonna acquire this thing for really any other purpose, now are you?

it looks like it's been thru some hell but these dudes are fairly cheap because people are afraid of 'em! i have heard that parts for these old peaveys are hard to find but i think that makes 'em all the more special! no freakin' tubes to have to baby w/!

hartley peavey was a genius! this is american made in the south, mississippi i'd imagine; when this sucker dies i'll just go out on a mission & try to find another jewel like this monster! like i said they're cheap 'cause hardly anybody wants 'em...

i'm gonna be 53 in a few weeks so i've been kickin' around for some time on guitar, bass & drums & i have all kinds of equipment because i've kept my day job thru the yrs...i usually use my guitar amps for my bass but this thing is just way past kool & reminds me of those days when bass players used to blow serious face!

versatility: loud overdriven, more than that, and absurd.
Solid state. My drummer gave this amp the greatest complement after two practices. Cheap, loud, and solid. Sound similar to Billy Sheehan and a cougar.
The only other thing this amp could do is power another cab....but I'm not gonna stretch it to 2ohm.

Like the crucifix of Christ falling into golgotha over and over....with syncopation and rhythm.
I play a Yamaha John Myung six and a fender active jazz. the fender sings. The yamaha is a little to pre-madonna for this amp.(thats why I'm selling it)
The amp is not versatile and I love it that way. Plug and play. Though the wah sounds great though it....if you really need it.......

Backup? I'd rather dump money into basses.

I've been playing for 10 yrs. I've sold off all my other bass equipment that is how happy I am (except for a sunn 4x10 and a old kustom 250). i was playing through a GK head and a
swr working man 4x10......no thanks.
No one would steal it.
If you play heavy(that is a broad term you inbred hardcore 'family members') music and like a distinct tone ......
