I just picked this amp up about a month ago. It is also called the flight case 150. I am a bass player and I was looking for a versatile amp that could cover the spectrum of bass. I have played and upright, acoustic and electric basses through this power house and it accommodates for all of them splendidly. I would say that it takes the natural sound and makes it louder, which is just what I wanted. It has one input, I would have liked two inputs for the price. It has a nice equalization and limiter. It is as quiet as a mouse which is a nice change from my last amp (ampeg). It has a DI out as well as a tuner out. There is a ground lift on the back side as well as a line out to run more speaker boxes. The case has two 5" speakers facing forward that are ported to push air. It also has two 5" speakers facing up to the ceiling, a nice addition so you can hear yourself when you are playing in a small club with out monitors, bassists usually get a crappy mix anyway. I have used this amp with an acoustic trio of two guitars and me. It is nice to be able to fill the low end in the room an keeping that true acoustic sound. I am concerned with the power if I play with a drummer, so I have a preamp to boost the input signal if necessary.

Sound Quality : 10
The amp has a passive/active switch and I have used acoustic pizzio pickups (realist) to active pickups on my fender (EMG). I feeds nicely into the amp with some tweaking. I have enjoyed using the amp with a flat eq. The channel is great at high levels, it tends to feed back more with my upright.

Reliability : No Opinion
I would love to go gigging with this amp because it weighs like 25 pounds. But I have only had it for a month and a half. I hope it will last many more years to come.

N/A- I am going to order the cover for it, I feel like it should come with the cover and I shouldn't have to pay 20 bucks with shipping on top. Great customer support would take care of this issue for future purchases of the product.

I have been playing for 15 years, I own a 1973 Fender fretless PJ combo, a beat up upright that is from Czechoslovakia in the 1970's and a Breedlove Atlas fretless 4 acoustic. I sold off the rest of my gear to get this stuff, finally finding my sound. The PJB Flight Case 150 is completing my sound, I think I will keep this amp for the rest of my life as long as it is still kicking. The only thing I wish is that it had a little more power.

Bought 2008. This is a great combo. I have used it for acoustic double bass (my first love at the moment), jazz/archtop guitars (my bread and butter) and classical guitars (where I started out). It works brilliantly for all of these, although you do have to make some EQ adjustments, obviously.
So it's very versatile and the tone it produces is sublime. On the double bass I am using a Shadow NFX965 transducer (like a double Gage Realist) which gives really good bottom end and, with suitable EQing will give lots of string sounds, if required. It always produces surprised looks when people hear it! One of the best things about this amp is the 5-band EQ which is what makes it so versatile.
For guitars, it sounds great even with all the EQ settings on flat but it's great fund fiddling with the settings to fine tune the sound. I can get a thick Joe Pass / Kenny Burrell sound, a brilliant (lots of treble) Martin Taylor sound and, on the classical guitar, a high presence flamenco sound or a traditional rich (John Williams type) tone. All I have to do now is learn to play as well as these folks. Strangely, although the cab has no reverb, it almost sounds like you have a slight amount of reverb tunes in. It is not as dry sounding as the AER Compact I last had - which nevertheless was a great amp in its own way.
One of the best things for my types of music is that the amp seems to retain its clearness all the way up to maximum volume.
The limiter works well (doesn't squash the sound too much).

Downsides? Well, this is a small/light amp - which is why I bought it. I am happy to use it in small medium jazz club settings, even with a 20 piece band with drums and horns. If there are any problems with volume, just DI it into the PA and use as a monitor, always worth doing anyway. I doubt it would cut it, though, with any rock-type band at the volumes expected in that type of setting. Plenty of power for me though.
Secondly, at around 24 pounds, it's light for a bass amp but I like to have a smaller amp in reserve for when I have to walk to guitar gigs (this is why I had the AER). The good news, though, is that I'm getting another Phil Jones amp - the AAD AG100 Cub for small guitar gigs - only 11 lbs and great sounding - but that's another review to come.

Sound Quality : 10
As I wrote above, the sound is brilliant across a range of instruments. Slight hiss (close up) at highest volume settings but this is negligible really.

Reliability : No Opinion
Don't know - this is a new model and time will tell how reliable it is. I always try to buy locally, just in case.
Reviews on Phil Jones products suggest that they are reliable and my amp seems to be built like a tank. If you bought one of these, the sound would make you want to take care of it.

No need yet.
Buy locally - support your local music shop and reap the benefits if things do go wrong.

Have been playing (and teaching) guitar for 35 years. Bass guitar for 2 years, double bass for a few months (it hurts!).
Would certainly buy another if lost/stolen.
Have tried most other guitar amps and quite a few bass amps. As an all-rounder this is the best so far for me.
