Rickenbacker 120TRB

You can enter the serial # on any Ric amp into a form on the Rickenbacker International site and learn its year of manufacture-I did and my amp was made in 1984. I can find nothing else about it (or any Ric amp) anywhere among the many Ric sites on the web as mentioned by other review submitters on Ric amps, here.
The amp is all solid state, with huge capacitors-its takes about 60 seconds to shut down the speakers, after turning it off! Has a 15" spkr and two horns (one a piezo) with a switch to choose which horn is desired. It is made well, VERY heavy and sounds good. Has one channel; bass, mid, and treble pots, volume, and a nice input for a music source like a CD to play along with. Has a spkr out jack, too.

I use it with a Ric Bass (4003), Warwick Streamer, Guild accoustic and Fender Jass Bass. Lots of fun in my small house as I have few neighbors?lucky for them! Huge sound. I just bought it, used, and it's in the shop now for some treble distortion that bothers me which may be the horns going.

I would love to get some info about this amp-like what speakers were original in it (mine has a replacement Peavey Scorpion 15" so I don't know the original model), etc. Pls email me if you know anything or place about this amp. We all really need to do a web site for Ric amps--even the Ric home site has zero info (other than the serial # dating thing) on amps. I have to rate Ric (a great company) low cause they do not even recognize that they used to make amps any more; ie., there is NO support for this older product line available anymore.

I've seen 2 35 watt Ric bass amps going for $350-$400 on the web. I wonder if I could sell this amp on ebay for a bunch of $? Then I think I would buy a Contra 300 watt amp that weighs like under 30lbs, with a floor facing woofer. Check them out-very cool.
