Real lightweight for a cab of it's size. Nice and durable carpeting (tolex rips easy.) I usually leave the high frequency horn a little above the center, about 1 o'clock.

MUDDY. But that's to be expected from a 2x15. The horn helps out a bit witht the highs. Don't get me wrong, it packs a nice punch and reproduces the lox B of the 5-string bass real well. But it's a little too muddy for my taste. It's more of a hardrock-music cab.
I don't get the crisp sound I like from a 4x10 or 6x10. I suppose you could lay the Big Bertha on it's side and put a 4x10 on top of it.

Its rated to handle 700 watts but I feed it 900. Hasn't blown up yet. Like most professional SWR cabs, it's built like a tank.

I know Fender owns SWR now and I haven't had to deal with them.

The main reason I bought it is because SWR doesn't make the Big Bertha anymore. They use to sell for $950 and I found a used one for less than half that price. So I figured I couldn't go bad with it.

SLAMMIN' I use it with my SM900. Good match. My Jazz basses sound awesome soloed on the bridge pickup. So much so that I rarely use anything else. The combination of an SWR hi-fi amp and big booty speaker provides a lot of versatility. It fills out the bottom that J bridge pickups often are missing. Surprisingly versatile. I run the tweeter almost all the way down so that overdriven tones don't get weird.

This is an older crackle grill cab. The only issue is with the binding posts. The plastic parts have broken a dozen times. I run dual bananas now and leave the plastic parts broken. What do you expect? I pound the crap out of this thing. Never flinches.

F*nder sucks. I would sew my asscheeks together before dealing directly with them. There are too many talented re-coners to waste your time with Fender and you can hardly chuck a dead cat without hitting a Foster horn. All I can say is don't buy new. Buy a used one. If it was made (by you know who) in Mexico set some of the money you saved aside for replacement parts. You'll probably need it.

Fabulous cab. It has never let me down. LIFT WITH YOUR LEGS. On that note, I have a broken back and rarely notice the weight of this cab. It is well designed for transport. I use a come-a-long to pull it into my Suburban and up stairs.
If I find another crackle grill cab, I'll buy it. If you steal mine I'll hunt you down and skin you alive starting at the scrotum.

Brand new cab 2003. Features are simple, 2X15". What else is there to say, its a bass cab. Unfortunaltly, since SWR sold out to Fender, they have move production of cabs to MEXICO!! That at boy Fender, take all those jobs away from the USA! It maks me sick. ANd Fender is now cutting corners on the cabs. The side handle are not as good as the old ones, and the got rid for the back metal kick plate, and they are not suplying polishing clothes for the chrome gill any more. Fender has made SWR their new Cash Cow.

Lots of Low end in the B + E strings. It is what I have been missing all these years playing with 10"s. A lot of PHAT low end growl! If you play a 5 string and are only using 10"s, you are missing out. You do need some 10"s to round out the sound because it is bass haevy. Either a 2X10" or 4X10"

The T-Bone handle on the slanted back used to be made out of metal, and is now made of plastic. I had to send the first cab back because handle broke. Just got the new cab, and handle id already showing signs of stress. I tock the handle off of my Goliath Sr. and swopped it because I and going to sell that cab. So, just don't pick up the Big Bertha by the back handle.

You are Not Dealling with SWR any More, because SWR is now owned by Fender. Fender F*cken sucks! After I broke the handle on the first cab, I called Fender to try to get a replacement handle. A $5 part. They gave me the run around for 2 weeks, before they decided that I needed to take it to a service scenter toget it fixed. The nearest service center to me is 100 miles away. So I just sent the cab back to Musicians friend on their bill. THat is why I know that they are now cutting corners on the cabs. Because the first Cab I got was made in the USA, and teh second one was made in Mexico. If SWR was still SWR, they would have sent the $5 part no questions asked.

The best sounding cabs I have ever owned, and I have owned a lot of cabs. This cab is # 7. This cab would have got a 10 if Fender didn't cut the corners on it and the cab was made in teh USA, and not Mexico. So all the corner cutting aside, Bottome line is, this cab sound awesome!
