Built in 1973, acquired in 1977. Originally had Cerwin-Vega 15" speakers that were good but I am a "JBL" guy so installed 2 new K-140's. Vast improvement as expected. This is actually the same as the 200S but instead of a center port it has a vertical port that runs the length of cabinet on left side. The external dimensions are the same as the 200S and the port size is also the same. It is however "tuned" differently and the cabinet response is stronger below 55 Hz compared to the 200S. So not too good as a Guitar cabinet but it was meant for bass so non-issue.

Are you kidding! Kicks out bass to approximately 30 yards like the 200S. Bandwidth is 35 Hz to 3.5 Khz. Very loud. SPL around 130 Db @ 10 feet with 150 watts R.M.S. applied. Outstanding bass cabinet.
Not as "mid-rangy" as the 200S. I have 2 of these. Never failed.
Nobody was ever sorry that they bought the best and for electric bass it's hard to knock Sunn and JBL.

I don't know what year this cab was made in, I assume recently,(It has Fender name on the tag in the back.I bought this cab with a Sunn 300T head. This cab sounds more versatile than older versions, This one has Two 1/4 in. jacks for running in parallel with other cabs. And since the cab is an 8 ohm cab , it would easily run with another cab with my 300T.(When finances allow me to do so).

I run this cab with a Sunn 300T head, and a Korg Pandora Multi effects processor, And my beautiful Ferarri Red Carvin LB70. and so far it's all i could resonably want. I can systematically disassemble any room at will. Once I was playing in the dining room, and It would knock the refridgerator door open in the kitchen in the next room..(And its a new fridge)Deep, bone jarring, nose hair itching lows. It fits perfect with the blues music that I love to play with my friends.

I've never had to repair any of this setup, but I hear that Fender has support for this rig. I heard that the old cabs had JBL 15s in them, But I've never looked inside to see what these drivers are. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. I regularly play at a friends house, and my brother and I practice quite frequently, It get it's fair share of shakes, & rattles. But I only store it in the house. I can't sleep if I leave it somewhere else...

I've only been playing for about 4 years (Regularly) I've only been running small transistor combo rigs, I took the step up to a full tube rig a couple of years ago, And I will never look back. I've ran several different Bass guitars with this rig, But I really like my Carvin LB70. I like the way the pre-amp in my guitar gives all the tones the same audible level. If it were ever stolen, And they Did'nt take the head too, I'd replace it as soon as I could. I chose this rig because of price, The store I bought it at was a dealer for Trace-Elliot gear, so I tried it Side by side everything they had, and this thing, for my style of music, blew them away...(I think it's a tube thing...)

This is a used 2 X 15 bass speaker cabinet (built c.1972) I have now owned for about thirteen years. It is a front-loaded, ported bass reflex design. The cabinet has no casters and is rather heavy, about 85 lb. Two handles are located at the ends of one of the long sides. There is only a single quarter-inch input jack, located near the top center of the cabinet back. When I bought it for $100 in 1987 it had only one speaker, and a blown one at that. I installed two 8-ohm Carvin PS15C speakers. It's not too badly scuffed up, and very mechanically sound. The grille is mounted to a rather lightweight frame which is secured in front of the baffle by means of some kind of early Velcro wannabe. I replaced the speaker mounting studs with tee nuts.

I use this cabinet either as a subwoofer in a biamp system, or full range depending on the gig. Both a Fender Hot-Rod P-Bass 4-string and a Carvin BB75 5-string are used. Power is supplied by either a Carvin R600 head or an ART tube channel/power amp combination. Sometimes (I estimate) as high as 500 watts is used. This cabinet sounds just great. No rattles or buzzes. The tone is focused and direct, with oodles of punch and tight upper mids. No mud. I particularly like the definition and articulation between the registers. It sings just the right way.

The cabinet was about fifteen years old when I bought it on the east coast, and I have no idea where it had been previously. I have been dragging it all over the place since I bought it. There has never been any kind of failure.

Since I fixed it up myself, I'm biased. Therefore, this does not apply.

I really like this piece of gear. It is dependable and sounds great. And the price was right. The people who built this cabinet should be proud. The moral of the story is that some old gear out there has genuine utility. No offence to manufacturers and dealers of new gear, please, but this old box is hard to beat. It spends weekdays in the garage.
