60;s 50 watt head. volume ,bass, treble.low, high boost. One imput.Very bare bones and simple.Lacks reverb and mid .Very loud .

Sound Quality : 8
I play a 70's musicman stingray II with active bridge and neck position humbuckers running through a 412 cab. It sounds good for what I do,indie, pop, math rock.I play it with the volume at about 3 and it is very loud in small clubs. After about 5 it starts to break up nice with kind of a marshal overdrive sound.A seperate chanel would be nice.Very clean not much buzz. I've recorded with it and the line noise is minimal.

Reliability : 10
I bought this amp for 90 bucks . Thats how much it cost for me to have it re-tubed and biased. In two years I have had no problems with it.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Any shop should be able to fix any problem with this amp cheap and fast.

This thing is like a cheaper better bassman. It is lighter ,cleaner, and all the control is on the face of the amp,no more reaching behind to find the ground or standby. It also has a 16and 8 ohm switch that has come in handy. It would be nice if it was a combo with a litle more control like mid and reverb.I played a bassman for years and would never trade this amp for one. Like the bassman i think it was ment for bass but is sweet for guitar. If your broke like me and you need a good cheap amp, go for an all tube sunn and get a tube screamer or rat to play through it. They are generally cheap and if cleaned up they are a nice surprise. I love mine.I got a jcm 800 and am thinking about getting rid of it to buy a sun t50. sunns just seem to marry the marshal fender sound .If yor looking for bells and whistles though this aint it.Plug in and play fool!

The Sonaro is a an all tube bass amp formt he 1960s. It differs from most Sunn amp heads in using EL34 tubes rather than 6550s. It's bone simple: two inputs, high and low boost switches, volume, bass and treble controls, power, polarity and standby switches and two speaker output jacks. That's it, baby. Plug in, turn up and check out that tone! A bit underpowered for modern bass work, but usable for clubs with an efficient cabinet. Nice guitar amp if you can live with no reverb or master volume. Output power is in the 50-60 watt range.

Sound Quality : 7
Compared to a Fender Bassman, it's way better a s abass amp, it stays clean at higher voluems and the low boost switch allows Ampeg-like tones. Like any tube head, it gets noisy when the volume is up. Tonal variety is limited due to the simple EQ. The basic sound is good, though.

Well, it's lasted thrity years, didn't it? When I bought it the only cosmetic flaw was the chrome trim cap on one of the knobs had been lost. It never broke down while I owned it.

Sunn is long out of business.

Yes, I would buy it again, at least for $50!!! I sold it recently to finance yet another amp and I can say that I miss it, but I really didn't need it with all my other amps around. The only thing I would want using it for bass anyway, is more power 100 watts, like it's big brother the 2000S had, would have made this a keeper.
