2005, made in USA, baby. Features as described in other reviews. I play noisy indy-rock in smallish clubs. 120 Watts is plenty, and for slightly bigger places, the DI does the job without having to lug around a big heavy bass rig. Weight: about 50 lbs. Heavier than a breadbox, but lighter (because of the neo speaker magnet) than most amps of its size and power.

I play a Jerry Jones Longhorn, and I can get just the sound I want from this amp. No, it doesn't sound like a full stack, but I don't actually want that sound, anyway. I can always get a great sound from this amp. Nicer sound to my ears than the Ampeg BA115, which is also a nice combo, more or less comparable, but the Ampeg doesn't have the Sansamp tone control, and it's heavier.

It's very well built, and it looks like it will last. I gig with it, and I wouldn't worry about it ever failing.

I had several questions about the amp befre I bought it, and Tech 21 customer service answered very promptly and helpfully. Warranty? I don't know how long it is, but I think these guys would stand behind their stuff. I don't think I'll have to worry about it, though.

I've been playing for a long time, through other kind people's nice (and not-so-nice) amps at rehearsal spaces and gigs. This is the first gigable amp I've owned myself. I shopped around a lot. I wanted something light, nice-sounding, and not too expensive. I considered lots of others, and narrowed my choices to a G-K MB150 (very nice sounding and powerful for its small size, and I might buy one some day, but perhaps a bit too thin-sounding for my current purposes), Ampeg BA115 (nice, but heavier, and less tone control), Mesa Boogie Walkabout Scout (too much $$ for me right now). So the Landmark 120 just had the best sound for the money. If it were stolen, I would get another.

This amp is very good for rock and roll and it sounds amazing close to a tube amp. Very solid in contruction. I play pearl jam, stp, and most other 90's rock. Can also acheive a very nice clean sound. The 15 inch speaker creates a round warm tone that sounds great clean or distorted (think Tool's Undertow). I play a Fender Mexican Jazz bass with a guyatone bottom limiter. It kicks butt. I played a bunch of expensive Ampeg heads and this sounds just as good. This is good for practice and live situations. Haven't gigged with it yet but the xlr output should sound good cause it is the same as their sansamp pedal which is the best in my opinion. So you just plug it directly in the pa. That is why I bought this amp. Has a headphone jack and line out which I don't use. Also has an option to attach another 10 inch powered cab for larger venues (outside venues would be the only other time you would need this).

It produces little hum with my jazz bass. Have not played with any other bass. If you crank the gain way up, it will distort the speaker, but you just have to lower the level cause the gain will crank your sound up anyway. The clean sound on this amp is very musical and almost like a fender bassman. Distortion is fantastic and very useable.

I emailed the company to get some extra sample eq settings and they responded within 24 hours. Very helpful. Cool website too.

I would buy again. This is a light amp and I can't stand lugging a tube amp or cab around to small gigs. You don't need a 300 watt bass amp to play a club. Now Madison Square Garden would call for something bigger, more eq options, but for somebody playing twice a week it is bad @ss.

I play a Rickenbacker 4003 with stock pickups, which is normally midrangey, but with this amp I am able to dial in tones tht fit more of a rock sound that I play. I generally play Foo Fighters to Gin Blossoms style rock, but this amp is able to be set for any type of music. The manual has preset dial-ins for King's X (which I use), Crimson, Fenders...just about anything. There are extra presets at sansamp.com. The gain channel on this amp is very nice. A very Cliff Burton type distortion when cranked all the way. But if gain isn't your thing, turn it down and you will get the cleanest and smoothest bass sounds there are. This is the fifth Tech 21 product I own, and they are fantastic.
