my 1210 was born in 2007. it has everything you could ask for 12 band graphic, high and low compression, tube and solid state, effects loop many other features!its 500watt but you do need a 15inch extention cab to get the full 500watts it will only run at about half of that on its own. i found it a little underpowered on its own for larger venues and had to invest in a 1518c bass cab. i play mainly rock music and i have found this amp to be very versatile. the only bad thing about this combo is that its very heavy

i use a warwick thumb bass and simply love the sound,it packs a great punch! the compression can be a little noisy when i'm not playing but you dont get any noise from the compressors once you start.the compression is very good on this amp and is very versatile.sound quality is excellent and you can achieve many different tones from this amp

i've been playing 20 years plus,i used a hartke set up before i brought this, although that was a great little set up this trace elliot has better quality of sound and has more features.i love the sound of this unit again the only downside is the weight of it but i would say thats a small price to pay when you hear this amp! if stolen i would buy another

I believe mine was made in 2007. I have already owned a Gibson-era 300 watt 2x10 Trace combo. I would say this is a more versatile unit. I play jazz, prog, fusion, etc. Between the pre-shape, valve drive, graphic e.q. and comp you have a large variety of tones available. The effects loop is really cool on this amp. I have used it for gigs without an extension cab and it really can fill a room. The only time I needed an extension cab was for an outdoor show and I usually have P.A. reinforcement in such situations. There are (2) 12ax7 tubes in the signal path of this amp and it really has a round fat tone

I use it with a Precision bass and a EBMM Sterling. The sound suits me perfectly. I do think the valve drive or compressor features add some noise but it is minimal on a gig. More noticeable if you are playing at home. This combo definitely has the signature Trace tone but to me it sounds a little more transparent than earlier Trace. That's not to say that you can't get the classic Trace tone! It's there but there is a lot of possibilities.

it has valve circuitry and solid state and the 2 can be used together with a good degree of variation of drive and blend.
it also has a dual band compressor, 12 band graphic eq, effects loop, a 6 way foot switch, a horn with variable attenuation and 2 ten inch, custom celestion speakers as it is a combo.
I use it with a trace elliot 1518c cabinet which has a single 15" speaker. When the 2 are connected together it delivers 500w of power.
there are no digital effects.

i absolutely love the sounds it can make.
anything from warm to metali slinky sounds.
it is very loud but with very little unwanted noise.
the footwsitch allows for quick changing between sounds.
the mute switch on the footswitch is useful so that you can drop tune at a gig without making noise.

i have had it nearly 2 years and the only problem i had was a blown fuse, i dont know why this happened but after replacing it, it has been fine.
i now have a couple of spare fuses taped to the back of it.

i have a problem with the input gain: it goes from silence to overload with one click of the input gain, i have sent trace elliot an email with details and am awaiting a response...

other than the fuse and the input gain i have no complaints.
it would be nice if it were cheaper but i would rather pay the high price for the strudy construction and circuitry.
at this high level, you probably would not want to use the digital effects if it had any so i have not marked it down for this.
