I play an Ibanez SRX 250 active bass, mostly finger style but sometimes with a pick. I play funk, rock, blues. Good, solid and punchy is how I would discribe this Trace with a bottom end that will literaty shake items off nearby tables when cranked up. If you drive it too hard you will get clipping around the eight setting on the output nobb, but has enought volume for rehearsals and small gigs. The 7 band EQ can be a bit fiddelly and sensitive but allows for maximum versatility. There is a very slight hum when this amp is powered up which I'm guessing is from an internal fan, not enougth to be bothered about though. Compaired to the Fender 100 watt bass Amp with a 410 cab I used in the studio the Trace is louder, clearer but without as much warmth but it's to be expected comming from a 15 inch cone and a horn. Amp sounds better raised about 50 cm off the floor.

Reliability : No Opinion
Not had it too long so can't really say. I rehearse for 4 hours at a time each week. Doesn't heat up, seems pretty solid.

I like it. If it was lost or stolen I might buy it again depending on the price. I paid 280 pounds sterling. Yes for the same price. The green light sold it for me but would prefer it to be blue and maybe make the light with a sound reactive option. Anyway good sound for the size, easy enougth to carry though weels and side handles would have been nice. Infact they should have most defiantly put side handles on. Good all rounder.

Before i start, i would just like to note that my amp is an old trace elliot, not one of the new range bought out in mid-2006.

1X15" celestion cone, 150 watts solid state with 2 bass ports. GP7 7 band EQ, Ballanced DI XLR Output (with a pre or post EQ option), Dual Band Compressor, Active/Passive Inputs, Effects Loop, Pre-Shape EQ option, 1/4" jack line out. Quite a lot really!

Sound Quality : 9
I use this with a westfield 5 string P/J bass, and an EKS P bass copy. I like to keep my EQ in a standard 'U' shape, and i hardly ever use the compressor. The amp has a very warm sound, but you can also get enough bite out of it to take your arm off. You never get a thin or muddy sound. This amp suits me in all situations, volume is not an issue - I usually gig with it just abouve half, and i dont like my bass to be low in the mix!

Reliability : 9
This amp is built like a tank, the controls on the front are recessed so they cant get knocked or damaged, and the cone is covered by 1mm steel mesh. The green carpet cover and steel caps on the corners keep the whole thing as solid as a rock.

Sound wise, when you turn it up, it doesnt distort until nearly max, and when it does it's a very warm and natural distortion.

I have gigged with this without backup many times.

Never had to deal with them, cos the amp is so robust!

I've been playing bass for just over 3 years now, and this is by far the best amp i've ever used. This is a great amp that has pretty much no faults atall, as the new range beginsd to be more popualar, its the golden time to nab an old one for dea cheap, and their just as good!

1x15 combo amp, 150 watt made in 1998.
I bought it new, and it's really the best amp I ever played with.
I use it mostly at home, band practice and small gigs and it has never let me down.
Speaker is made by Celestion and for a 15" it has a huge frequency range.
Very versatile 7 band graphic EQ, fx loop, DI out.
Useless compressor, I prefer an outboard unit although this one seems to work better than some other built-in compressors on other brands of amps I've used.
The only thing I modified is that I put wheels under it for ease of transportation.

Sound Quality : 10
Fender USA P-bass and Samick copy P-bass, both w/ Seymour-Duncan 1/4 pound pickup, very high output passive, I always plug into the active input otherwise I'll distort the preamp.
I play mostly rock (n roll), blues, some metal.
I like the coloration the amp adds to the bass sound, I hate superclean amps anyway.

Reliability : 10
Very reliable, never let me down.

Never had to deal with T/E.

I've been playing for 12 years, I've had this amp for 8 years.
My other gear includes a Hartke 5000 head, an Ampeg BSP preamp, Avatar 4x10 and 2x12 cabs, a Boss RCL-10 compressor and a Boss RDD-10 delay.

Dual band compressor, select pre/post EQ DI 7 band EQ for 300 quid who could possibly complain, its fantastic.

Sound Quality : 9
I have a very ordinary bass, its a musicman stingray copy, but, this sounds fantastic through my Trace, its a solid state but I like my bass to sound deep and clear the 715 does this without a problem.

Reliability : 10
Very reliable have used it for several gigs already and don't see a problem.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Don't know I've never had a problem with a trace amp either before or after being bought out by the gibson corperate ******, only kidding.

Overall Rating : 9
I love this amp, I turned it past 4 on the master, it almost made my head cave in sooo much sound sooo deep sooo clean. I've used this live several times and the sound engineer has had to tell me to turn the amp down as its over whelming out front of stage. All the years I've been sound engineering I've never had this problem.

The 1X15 combo is great not like the tinny/toppy 2X10 or even 4X10's I've played through, if you can get one cheap they are fantastic
