Features : 6
Features are few: active/passive inputs, gain, master, switchable 7-band EQ, mid shape switch, effects loop, pre-out/power-in, phones jack, 2 parallel speaker jacks, power switch. That's it.

Sound Quality : 8
I use the amp at home for practice and for small gigs. Basses are: a Fender Precision AV62RI and a Human Base X-Over fivestring (comparable to a MM Sterling). As for speaker cabs, I use a selfmade 2/15" or a 2/12" by Sieben Audio Design.

Surely, the AH100 does not have a wealth of headroom. The amp is loud enough for what I want, though. Definitely louder than what you would expect from a 100 watt amp! The sound is very tight, punchy, and still quite neutral, with a nice compression to it. The only downside is the remarkable amount of background noise, even at low volumes.

Thanks to the graphic EQ, the amp is suitable for virtually every style of music. The mid shape switch gives you the scooped sound that Trace Elliot was known and loved for in the eighties, but I don't like it, because in a band setting it's quite useless. I play mostly rock styles, and I need the midrange.

For drive sounds you have to use a pedal. The gain pot is solely supposed to adjust the input to the instrument to avoid clipping.

Reliability : 10
Never had a problem.

Not too big, not too heavy, easy to handle, very good sound quality. The Trace Elliot AH100 is the amp for the occasional club gig.
