mid 90's Trace Elliot AH1200SM. 1200 watts RMS at 2 ohms, 2400 watts PEAK-(600/1200 x2 stereo)with the famous GP7SM 7 band series bass preamp (tube/solid state). From small rooms to large outdoor venues, this amp does it all.
Front Features; 1 input with passuve/active select, input gain, overlaod lite, 2 preset eq settings switched pre1/pre2 with on/off select. 7 band eq (50hz,100hz,250,hz,1khz,2khz,5khz)+/- 15db range, eq level, eq on/off, eq balance, effects loop, balanced D.I out with pre/post eq select, output level control, line out, Mute switch, face plate graphics illuminated by a built in BLACK LIGHT!!! Waaay cool!
Rear features; main power on/off, voltage select (110/220 volt), left & right channel outputs in 1/4" and XLR jacks, "tuner" out.
From small rooms to large outdoor venues this amp handles it all with ease using the GP7SM. you can get any tone you want out of it by mixing/matching the eq presets with the 7 band eq. The black lite looks very cool in the dimly lit nightclubs, too.
I wish it had the effect loop in the back and the dual compressor off the SMX series, though.

Sound Quality : 9
i use a Spector NS2 and an Ibanez edb600wt, both sound great through this amp. the active pickups work well here. from smooth jazz to funky slappin, you cant beat it with the right speaker config. runs clean and smooth up to 8 on the output ( as far as i have had it.) I run 2 stacks: Trace's 1048H 4x10 w/ horn and 1518T 1x15 for mids and highs and 2 1528's 2x15 cabs for lows. The guys at Trace said i'll "get about 800 watts and not only move ALOT of air but will be breaking things" ! HEHEHE, IIIII LIKE it!
it runs quiet, you can barely hear the cooling fan and has a little spker noise in "mute" in a quiet room. If you have any noise going on you wont hear that ,though. for the noise i give it a "9".

Reliability : 10
I have run this amp ragged at times and it never let me down. I would be comfortable giging with no back up, but that would be asking for trouble. I use a Sunn 200 watt Concert bass and 2215S cab as back up. I take very good care of it,as any player should, being carefull not to drop, bang, or slam into things.

Customer Support : 5
as far as this model I'll go "5". The guys at Trace Elliot can't seem to find an Owners Manual for it. They did however send me the manual for the GP7SM part of it, which is mostly what you would need. But, I prefer to have th real manual, sometimes there is info you can't get anywhere else in it. like

Overall Rating : 9
I have been playing since highschool, 18 yrs.
i would replace this amp with a AH1000SMX, only because it has new features and a 12 band EQ.
I love the black light effect. Hate the main power switch in the back.
I compared it to a myraid of other amps, some current and some from memory, found one WAAAAY cheap and snatched it up. Been very happy with it ever since, no regrets buying this one at all. I get compliments on it all the time, mostly on the black light, but its still a compliment. :) you can see pics at http://hometown.aol.com/tracebassplayer (no www.)
