Not happy,
I spent #2000 on Trace equipment, including this head and two cabinets. From the very start the set up did not work well. The pre amp on the head was malfunctioning, and very kindly I was given the 150 W head of the same make just so i could carry on gigging. Had the same problem; it sounded terrible and tinny and distorted at v low volumes.

I sent Trace an e-mail and still haven't had a repky to this day. Decided to keep the cabs and have just bought a Hartke head which is much, much better in my opinion.

This isn't a bad bass amp-head. It's reliable, and clean sounding.
After hearing all the "hoopla" 10 years ago regarding Trace amps, I
purchased this preamp/head along with the trace 2x10 cab. Out;ve curiosity, I had to also run my Ampeg tube bass head thru the same cab
to do a "head-to-head" with a recognized "tranny" rig and also a tube
head thru the same speaker config.
There is no substitute for the warmth, and presence of the ampeg tune series. I have yet to hear a comparable transister head match-up
to the girth, and fullness of a tube rig
