Same as below except it's a 6 band EQ (just a typo in the previous review).
I wouldn't say the sound is versatile but for a 1980 amp it's got all the options you could expect minus a headphone jack.

I've used a Samick ??? and currently a Squier P-Bass through it and I play a little of everything; Flea, JPJ, Steve Harris, etc.... It all sounds good.
I keep the EQ basically flat with the gain, bass, mid, and treble @ ~3 with boost on and in the high input. It does everything well and is not noisy. However, I'm not using effects and I don't change the settings. Let your fingers do the talking :-)

I've had the circuit board resoldered and replaced some parts and also put in a new Eminence speaker. The speaker blew in the early 90's and so I put the amp in the garage for a number of years. Pretty dumb considering the temp. varies from -40 to +40 Celsius here. Anyway, that's why the circuit board needed work. Other than that it's built like a house. Since I've worked on it I'll give mine a very subjective 10.

I sent them a question about a 22 year old amp that I purchased used 14 years ago...they never replied. Can you blame them?!

I'm mainly a guitar player so I just noodle around on the bass. I'm thinking about trading this amp in (along with a guitar amp) for a better guitar amp but I may hang onto it since it's good for practice, jamming, and maybe small gigs if I was ever needed. (It'll pump out 140 watts with an 8 ohm speaker and 8 ohm extension cab, 120 watts with one 4 ohm speaker, and 75 watts with one 8 ohm speaker.)
I'll give it a ten b/c I've had it for so long, know what it's capable of, and still enjoy using it alot.
(BTW, the speaker and work cost ~$280 which I consider well worth it but if you're looking at buying one of these keep in mind that someone may have left it outside for a few years and not fixed it up!)

Made in 1980-85. Fairly versatile for the style of music the I play, which are mainly jazz and ska. It has 2 Channels - Normal and High. Gain,Treble, mid, bass knobs, 9 band EQ,Boost switch, footswitch for EQ and Boost, solid state and has a 15" driver. The amp is rated 75W @ 8 ohms, and it can be boost to 120W when adding a 100W 8ohms cab. This bass is loud when I play it in my room - haven't try it in gigs yet cuz I just got it a while ago, but should be good for samll to mid size gig

I play a Yamaha BBG5S with it. The amp is not noisy at all except when the treble is turn above 6. Otherwise it produce very nice rounded clean tone without distortion even when it is cranked to very high volume.

My guess is that it must be very reliable, considered that it was made from the early 80's and hasn't need to be serviced as far as I know.

Traynor is under the umbrella of Yorkville and as you all know Yorkville always give the best customer support. Actually the guy who I bought the amp from gave me a copy of the email he got from the Yorkville staff, which basically explain to him the year and ratings of the amp, and included a copy of the manual and schematic. Although they are for Yorkville Stage 120B probably because the two model are very similar, but still, that is great service for an amp that's no longer in production since almost a decade ago.

Great combo amp, no complains on the sound and features. But note that this guy weights a ton!! It's very heavy, I don't know how much, but it's is heavy. Other then that, It is a great combo.
