Got mine new in the fall of 2005 in a deal with the matching YBA-200 head. 400W, ported cab, 2x10, 1x15, tweeter (with volume control on back).

40 - 15,000hz +/-3db frequency response... more than enough for my 4 strings with plenty to spare for a 5-string

I really like the concept of a ported 2x10, 1x15, tweeter in one box as it gives you maximum versatility (huge lows, punch, crisp highs). My only concern was that a separate 2x10 and 1x15 might give me more flexibility and be easier to transport. Well at just over 80 lbs, this cab is big for one person (though I can manage if needed... I may order the optional casters), but it could be a lot bigger... so I can't really complain. Nicely positioned and comfortable handles on the sides.

Construction: Very solid... I really like the grill. My only issues were that the paint under the grill near the bottom ports was a little bubbled and thin for some reason. Not easy to notice, I had to look pretty hard to see it... but a little sloppy. Easily fixed by removing the grill and using some flat black paint. Most would not notice it but I am a perfectionist. The tweeter was also mounted slightly crooked (again only I would notice it).

I should note that I just added white piping around the grill of the head and amp and this setup has gone from plain yet handsome... to downright beautiful (in a black and white ampeg kind of way... the nicest looking amps and cabs are their classic line in my opinion)

I give it a 8 because the speaker combo is very versatile with it's speaker configuration, but small construction finishing issues prevent it from being perfect.

This cab may not be the best at any one sound... but it is very versatile and can do just about any style very well.

I play this cab with a 96' Fender jazz, a 96' rickenbacker 4003, and a 72' rickenbacker 4001... though I give it a run with a 96' fender deluxe jazz 5-string now and then. I have only used it with the matching YBA-200 head. I play mostly high energy alt rock and I like a bright upper-mid heavy sound... but I have fooled around with tones and this head/cab can do just about everything... bass thump, hi-fi, growling rock, you name it.

Paired with the YBA200 all-tube head, this thing sounds great. This pairing with my ric makes me smile every time, reminds me why I love bass. Give the head a good push and the mids really begin to shine through this cab. This cab can pump out all the lows you want (the soundguy is always asking me to dial back lows when playing live) and still give that high and crispness if you want to cut through.

The tweeter does add a slight amount of hiss... but nothing that I generally notice unless I listen for it.

Reliability : 10
All plywood construction, black tolex covering, black metal corner guards, rubber feet, and a very nice and well fitted black metal grill. Looks and feels very very solid. It is backed by a 2 year "even if you break it" full warranty... I am confident that it will hold up to anything I throw at it... but I am not so sure what I throw at it will look pretty after they collide.

No need to contact Traynor (Yorkville) yet... but I'm in Canada and there are plenty of dealers that work with Yorkville products, so I can't see support being any issue at all in my region.

Overall Rating : 9
Solid cabinet that can produce a versatile range of sounds for many different styles of music. Has the punch of the 10's, the highs of the tweeter, and the big sound of the 15. Good for those medium gigs where a combo is anemic... but a SVT with an 8x10 is overkill.

I highly advise getting it with it's matching YBA200 head... they sound amazing together. I can't believe that they don't charge more for this setup. Great tone at a great price with an amazing warranty (so you know you are not getting something cheaply built).

I would get another for my YBA200 if this one was lost or stolen. If both were lost/stolen... I would save and get both again.

All-in-one; 15", 2 10", and a (defeatable) tweeter. 400w, 4 ohm. I'm kind of surprised/disappointed it doesn't have Speakon connections, but oh well. The tolex and grill are heavy duty, handles are in a great spot - along with the weight and dimensions, it's actually much easier to carry around than you might think. I'm not going to ding it for the lack of a Speakon, but I will for not having a bi-amp option. Still, for the money, it's so worth it.

Using it with a 5-string with EMGs and the EMG BTC preamp through a Yorkville XS400H. First off, it is LOUD. I bought it to replace a Hartke 4.5BXL. Directly replacing it, without changing a setting on the amp, it was literally twice as loud. And not a hint of rattle/distortion anywhere. Gives major subtones, in a very good way. It was literally blowing paper off music stands at 6' away at the first practice. Made to go with the YBA-200 (which is a killer combo, tried it at the store), but matches perfectly with the Yorky as well - same company, different line. Very versatile. I will take a point off for now just because I haven't been able to dial in the mid punch yet, which I've heard from others is a 'problem' depending on what you're looking for.

Like everything Yorkville/Traynor, built like a tank. Unbelievable warranty (and price). Haven't had this long enough, but I've played Yorkvilles for a few years now with no problem.

2 year 'even if you break it' warranty, 10 years against defects. Like I said, haven't had a problem with this one yet. I did have a repair on a combo amp a while ago, and can't say it was seamless. The company is based in Toronto or Niagara Falls, somewhere in there. I was going to have to pay shipping there, they'd pay it back. Ended up having a local guy do it, but because Yorkville/Traynor authorized repair guys are so few & far between, it took a couple weeks to get it back. Rating is based more on that experience.

Overall Rating : 10
I love this cabinet already. Literally blew me away, especially for the price. I was replacing a 4x10 that had served me well, but as I found out, wasn't cutting it for tone or volume. Probably the most surprising thing was its portability. It lists at about 15 lbs. lighter than the Hartke, but because of the dimensions and handle placement, it is really easy to move around. If I were going to buy any other cabinet, I'd probably look at the XC808, but there's nothing that compares to this cabinet in features and price.

1X15" and 2X10" cabinet for the YBA200

Sound Quality : 10
The YBX1510 is designed and works very well with the YBA200 head.
It will give just about any sound you want to hear when meated with it's amplifier. It mimics the Ampeg B-15 Portaflex to a T. Plus more.

Reliability : 10
Very reliable! I push the head and the to the full extremes. It has Yorkville?s famous two-year (even if you break it!)* transferable warranty.

Overall Rating : 10
If you have the YBA200 head you need this cabinet to get the full response. I have been playing for 26 years, 12 of those on bass.
I would buy another if this was lost or stolen without hesitation.
Compared to a Ampeg Portaflex and an Ampeg SVT 350.
