YT-15, 2-15 Traynor cabinet with the original Marsland speakers in it. I belive it is an early model built in the late 60s as it has the rounded corners with crome covers and a 4 digit serial number. I found it at a second hand store that had changed owners and it was in a pile of junk with a Jensen 2-15 cabinet. I hounded the guy for a couple months and stopped in one day when the pile had been cleared enough to climb to the cabinets. It was a little moldy but I brought it home, took the back off and scrubbed the covering. The inside was in amazing condition as the sealed cabinet preserved the speakers well. The 3/4 plywood cabinet is very well built and strong. Nice silver face cover material. Two handles on the long side, has feet to sit on end or longwise.

This sounded good right off the bat but I rewired the 18 ohm to 4 so that I could run it in series with my SWR 4 ohm 2-10 cabinet. I use a Gallien Krueger 400 amp head, a Yamaha RB100 and an Oliver B120 plugged into it sometimes. It Sounds awesome in my opinion. It has a deep sound that I can only describe as Bass. Being sealed it is not as loud as a ported cab but paired with the 2-10 that feeds the highs it adds the lows perfectly. I would have paid much more for this cabinet after hearing it. I am giving it a 10 because it seems to do exactly what it is designed for. Shakes the ground.
A side note my girlfriends son loves to plug his Marshall artist into it. It gives a very clear nice sound as a guitar speaker as well.
I use an Ibanes 690, 83 Roadstar 2, 66 p and a Yamaha TRB 4. It sounds nice with them all. Lets each show its own voice.

Reliability : 10
This thing is old and after scrubbing off the grunge it looks amazing and sounds just as nice. I dont know much about the Marsland speakers but they still rock and thats about all I can ask for. Everything appears to be original.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I doubt it.

Hello. I have a mid 70's Traynor 2x15 bass cab. It has one replaced CTS speaker from '74 in it and one original Marsland (EIA code 7370) speaker. It was originally wired at 16 ohms, but I rewired it to four. Oddly enough, it's a sealed cabinet for bass. Normally cabinets like this are ported, but I use this far more for guitar anyway. Mine is the "bumper-style" with the rubber edging and velcroed grille for easy removal. Because of its weight, I added casters, but it's reletively easy to move, nice handles. It's solid.

Sound Quality : 9
For bass, it gives a nice vintage style thud and sizzle when used with a Kustom K200. The enclosure should really be ported for any serious bass use; my Kustom 2x15's with CTS in them get much louder because of the porting. When used for guitar, it has a very fat tone like a Fender Showman through a JBL 2x15 (my local music store has this amp combo, so I have compared) when used with an Ampeg SS140C. Because of the sealed cabinet, it has a focused low end great for guitar but lacks any real ball-shaking bassage for bass (once again, if ported, that would probably change).

Reliability : 10
It's a tank, i've heard of them getting hit by cars and surviving. 100% Canadian pride.

As with all vintage equipment, sources of exact info is sketchy sometime, but the new Traynor company has archived their old products and answer questions via email. There also are somem good sites out there; Google it.

When compared to a vinatge Kustom rig and an Ampeg SVT stack, this won't give much compettion for bass, but for guitar it puts up quite the fight. The sound for bass (Kustom k200 with a P-bass or J-bass) is very tight and circa 1965 John Entwistle sound (listen to the recording of Can't Explain, which I think was recorded with a Marshall JTM 45 and a 4x12), but it's not ear splittingly loud either. For guitar, it is very heavy and tight, like a well tuned 4x12 almost but bassier. If it were ported (which is an easy mod: hole saw + plastice port tubes= BOOM) it would be a killer bass cab, but I am content with it as a guitar cab; I have an Ampeg SVT stack for more volume anyway. Also, it was originally wired at 16 ohms in series, I rewired it for 4 ohms in parallel since I use it by itself mostly so i get more power. Very nice cabinet.
