I am thotoughly impressed at the practibility and road-worthiness that
this combo offers. As a full-time musician, I find that it's simple
layout, mated with extremely useful tools such as onboard di's (1 direct out and one preamp out) and tube/FET switching, make this amp a great choice for budget musicians

I use a '73 Fender Jazz and a 2000 Fender Hot-Rod P-Bass through this amp. When used for Celtic-rock (What I'm employed to play at the present), this amp performs fairly well. Although I would prefer a sweeter tone at higher volumes (300 watts is this amp's rating), the natural distortion that occurs is actually very cool, and adds to the driving sound. I would recommend that a potential buyer would opt for the 4x10 combo instead of the 1x15; more speaker surface area would likely increase quality and punch of the sound

My amp has pumped out over 350 fifty-minute sets since I have purchased it, and apart from routine tube replacements, and replacement of the imput jacks (neglectful use), I have had no real problems with reliability.
This amp has also survived a number of flights (twice on small, regional airlines, many more large commercial flights), and a fall down a flight of stairs at a motel (which consequently required a new grille).
Overall, no complaints, just appreciation for a strong solid amp.

I bought this amp from a subcontracter who builds cabinents for Tube Works. I have always had prompt support from this individual dealer, but no experience with the company. I've also gotten free labour for the past three years now...let's keep our fingers crossed!

I have a modest collection of amps at home that I use for pleasure. Many of these have great tube tone, but I would hesitate on using them professionally, apart from recordings. The Tube Works tends to lack in the tone department, but makes up and more with it's rock-solid performance, reliability and (I forgot to mention) portability (It's under 70 pounds and had deep handled flush with the cabinet)
I would certanly suggest this amp to any working bass player.

This is a very straight forward amp- master, volume, 4 band eq, contour, dry effects dial, limiter, and an effects loop in the back. However, between these controls and the tube/FET pre-amp switch it is plenty tweekable. In this price range I'd prefer little frills. THe tone is outstanding and you can dial in a very subtle overdrive at high volumes. There is an input for active and one for passive.

I have a Washburn with a p configuration and there is not much hum with the tube engaged and virtually none in FET. It mixes well with other instruments. Tone once again is absolutely titties. It is warm and especially receptive to slapping.

I cannot say much because I just got mine. It is made by Genz-Benz, which is definately a cool little company and it has a good warranty

Once again, GB is always cool (my guitar store guy talks directly to Carl Genzler!). It did take a while for them to ship the amp because they had to build it.

I am upgrading from a cruddy little Dean Markley 50w practice amp, so the tube tone and shear build quality are incomparable. I love the way the knobs feel, I really love how it sound with guitar and drums. Also, at the risk of sounding juvenile, this thing really moves air. It makes my hair stand back.
