I play a P-bass copy, thumbsyle. This combo gives sweet, warm bass sound, some warm midrange, no highs. Doesn't have any of the barky midrange most inexpensive combos have. Very capable of a beautiful sound. This combo definatley has a voice. No chance of getting different sounds out of it, don't even try. It is what it is. The *real* downside is it's only 20 watts or so. It sounds as loud as a modern 50-75 watt though. Sounds *much* better than any Peavey, Fender or esspecially Yorkville combo. Makes a really nice practice combo, or if you're brave like me, mike it and play live. Even though it has a 4ohm speaker, it won't distort at full volume unless you play loud/slap or have active pickups.

Built like almost any consumer grade electronic equipment in the '70's would be. Particle board seems a tad brittle after all these years so i do have to be careful with it. Never failed me in a little over a month of playing practices & gigs, travelling in the back of a pickup truck the whole way. Anyway, this amp is older than I am and it's still going.. what can I say?

Bargain of the century for me! The sound perfectly fits my playing stlye and sound. I stuffed the speaker cabinet with layers of foam, each layer with a hole for the speaker. I highly recommend this modification, it adds to the sound a tad, but more appropriatley it'll help with the leaky cabinet & squeeze a bit more low end out of it. I also replaced the stock speaker with a louder Eminence speaker, which is brighter, but has the same low end. With it, I have to keep the tone knob full dull. The Eminence makes it sound like any other cheap combo amp really. I'm seriously thinking of taking it out and putting the old speaker back in. For what it is, an old, fragile particle board heap with no features, it really sounds amazing, honest. I'd like to hear from other owners, or people with more info on this amp. If it had more power & was built better it'd be an 11!
