Update to my last review:
I replaced the speakers with a Weber Ceramic Chicago & a Ceramic Thames, each 4 ohms, wired in series to make 8 ohms, and now I get the most badassed bass tone ever. Think Live at Leeds, but more crushing low end, punchier low mids that kick you right in the gut, agressive mids, and sweet highs. The speakers also seem to allow my bass to feedback easier (a good thing) and just make it SING!!! Forget that hi-fi tinny snap crackle pop Victor Wooten tone, this shit has BALLS! It sings and perfectly compliments any melodical style (especially Jack Bruce & John Entwistle). I'm surprised at the amount of lows i'm getting with this really shallow cab. I have my Sceptre on 10 and it's loud as fuck, but I can't get these speakers to break up at all! CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN! But crunchy at the same time. These webers are WAY more efficient than the stock speakers. More clarity, too. Right now i'm set on amplification. If I need more volume, i'll probably get an empty Avatar G212 and load it with Weber Ceramic Thames 12 just to get a bit more of a Leeds-ish sound. Now i've found my tone, and life is good. I highly recommend Weber speakers. www.webervst.com

Ted Weber is the man. Responds to emails extremely quickly. (but this review is for Univox, so I won't give a rating)

Stock, it's a POS. With weber speakers, it has god tone. Fact is, it's still a shitty value because you need to replace the speakers to sound decent. Such is the price of tone. =/

This is a Univox 2x15 bass cab, made sometime in the late 60s or early 70s. 4 ohms. It has two 15" speakers with aluminum dustcaps, and a rectangular port. It's not very deep for a bass cab, in fact shallower than some Marshall guitar cabs, and for a 2x15 is relatively light.

I'm using it with a Cort P-bass modded with Fender Original 62 P-bass pickups, and a Sunn Sceptre tube head, or a Fender Bassman 135 tube head. The sound isn't that especially great, but it's crisp and clear, has decent lows (remember it's a shallow cab). Clean it's alright, but add too much overdrive and the sound gets kinda nasty, probably due to the aluminum dust caps.

I wouldn't depend on the stock speakers in this cab because they blew after 2 months of using them using my Sunn Sceptre! I was just playing around with the volume around 7 or 8, and all of a sudden there was a drop in volume, then smoke started coming from the cab! I don't think the speakers are worth reconing, so I will probably replace them with Weber Ceramic Chicago 15s. The cab itself is solid, just crap speakers.

I've been playing for about 2 years now, and I also own a Randall 1x15 folded horn cab, a Fender BXR100, a Washburn XB102Q, a MESA/Boogie 1x12 guitar cab, and an MXR Phase 90 that I never use. If it were stolen or lost, I wouldn't get another one, due to the crap speakers. I basically bought it because it was 80 bucks, and I needed a bass cab. It did sound better than a few old Ampeg 810Es I tried at the store, but I hate that cab anyways. I'm gonna load this with some Weber Ceramic Chicagos, and then it should sound pretty good with my Sunn.
