Made in 2002 or 2003. Bought it early summer of 2003. I never use the bassilator because it muddies and distorts. I wish it had a little more power sometimes, because I'm actually using it at gigs where I compete with a PA, but it is definitely getting the job done.

Sound Quality : 10
I'm playing in an acoustic alt-country band, as the only instrument with pickups, playing a short scale hollow body bass (Epiphone Allen Woody), going for a rich warm sound, with lots of bass. This amp does that great. Very little noise, only distorts when it's cranked.

Reliability : No Opinion
Haven't had it long enough to offer an informed opinion, but I am using it at gigs without a backup.

I've been playing about 20 years all together. If it were lost or stolen, I'd probably go try other amps to see if I can get the same sound with a little more power in reserve, but I bet I'd wind up buying another one of these because I love the sound. Maybe I'd buy two of them and use them both and be done with it.

Amp must have been built in 2000 or 2001. I use it as a practise amp playing heavy stuff, but it does even offer enough power for small gigs or practising with one of my bands. It is perfect!

Features should be known from the reviews below. A Line Out might be useful, that's why I only give 9 points.

Sound Quality : 8
I use this amp with different basses, one of those is a Music Man Singray 5-string. It suits to any music I play. The EQ and the Bassilator function offer enough variety - I never felt to go for a new practise amp.

Anyway, it has 10" speakers so there's a lack of punch when playing together with a loud drumkit.

Reliability : 10
This amp is more than versatile. I did things with it you shouldn't do with a guitar or bass combo, but still everything is fine. It has never broken down and I would definitely use it without backup.

I've been playing for 12 years now, using this little amp for 2 years. If it were stolen or lost, I'd definitely buy it again. I compared it to many 8inch and 10inch bass combos and there's nothing better.

I had the same rattling problem as two other people that reviewed this product. I figured that the chances of getting a defective one were low, but that's where I was wrong.

It's a small classic Beatlish looking bass amp with one channel, four tone controls and a sub bass cirquit.

Sound Quality : 10
Although it looks like 60's amp it can produce retro and modern sounds from my Fender Jazz Bass thanks to the quality tone controls.
It is easy to make it sound round -as in the sixties- but funky slap sounds are also possible by turning up the hi-mid control. It is really very satisfying to play through this amp and it sounds good with my Fender Strat too. I also own a VOX pathfinder amp but this one gives my Strat much more body without sacrificing the highs.

Reliability : 10
Built like a tank.

Didn't have to deal with customer support yet.

I love this amp for what it is: simple, great tone, great looks.
It has not many features but then I don't need what it can't do.

I use this for everything from sound reinforcement to guitar, bass and keyboards.
A quality full range sound at volume levels that seem higher than 25W
Having owned an Essex 30 years ago I was pleased that KORG has improved the breed rather than just making copies of old stuff.
I use this MOST of the time as a slave to my VOX Cambridge 30 Twin for extra bottom end and volume w/o fedback - looks neat too.
VERY easy to use but limited with no effects loop.

CLEAN, full range sound from a modest lightweight package.

Compared to everything I could find under $200 and only the Ibanez SW35 could beat it. But I like the VOX name has more "meaning" to me so I thought over EXACTLY what I wanted it for and the T-25 won.

Korean manufactured, licensed through Korg UK; 2001. Solid state, 25 watts. Single channel, high/low gain inputs. 5 band EQ plus "Bassilator" sub-freq. switch. Headphone jack. Detachable power cord.
Located this amp on the web whilst looking for a home practice amp for my wife. Originally had something smaller in mind 'til I came across this classy, effervescent little cutie. I've used an original Vox T60
bass cab (2-15") onstage for years- the T25 is an adorable "combo-tized", transistorized love child to McCartney's big daddy cab! Though I purchased this for my wife (who plays a Baldwin Baby Bison bass,) it
has become the entire family's amp. I often have to wait for my turn to plug my massive Burns Bison bass into it- as she also uses it for her Farfisa Mini-Compact organ. Did I mention our cat sleeps on top of it a lot as well?! Anyway, bought it strictly as a homebound practice amp and it more than fulfills requirements. Judging by our gear, we obviously are applying a '60s beat group MO to this amplifier,
or perhaps a little of the good old U.S. garage rock.

Sound Quality : 10
As above, we're plugging our entire Bison herd into it (including my Baby Bison 6-string) and tonally the T25 proves quite capable/versatile
dealing with a wide variety of pickups (Rezo-Matic/Bar-O-Matic.) Whilst using my '66 Epiphone Rivoli, it's necessary to roll back the bass freq. & turn off the Bassilator switch, as the hugely huge Gibson pickup typically resembles an earthquake through any amp! Otherwise,
I find the T25 functions best by judiciously ignoring both Mid EQs
(for the most part) & whacking both the Treble & Bass dials to wherever you fancy. Been keeping them both full-on & it's a charm. I think Mid EQ is a load of crap anyway- useful only to "tastee" gearheads trying to tweak into that oh-so-Guitar Center "Seinfeld" slap thing (which was actually done on a keyboard, I'm told.) If you're considering one of these in the first place, your sensibilities will probably already be attuned to the Vox tonal aesthic (creamy dreamy thump thump!) This little thing packs plenty of wallop volume-wise, certainly enough to seriously annoy the other tennants (which I choose not to) if I was so inclined. Have had no distortion issues, but I hardly need to go past
2 on the Burns or 5 using the Baldwin. Though I've no plans of gigging with it, there is a 100 seat theater-venue in town I play occasionally & this would certainly suffice, I think (if the drummer doesn't get too Moon-like that is!) Should you happen to be playing a coffee shop/dinner-dance type affair, the T25 would suit you to a T!

Reliability : 10
Obviously this is a fairly new amp; no troubles thus far, I think the quality control must be reasonably good (with the unfortunate exception of the fella with the rattletrap problems.) Make sure to buy from a "hands on" dealer (see below) to ensure an easy solution should any problem ever arise. My T25 is solid not only in its transistor capacity- the chassis construction is like a veritable brick sh*thouse!

Customer Support : 10
I didn't deal with Korg, though they seem quite enthusiastic and interested in keeping the Vox traditions of quality (for the most part)
alive. Lots of interesting developments in recent years. (Tho' their new "T'n'A" ad campaign really misses the mark by a corntry mile- what's with the big bosoomba'd Bettie Page-like models? Trying to cater to the nascent neo-Rockabillys? I think you missed it! I don't
mind cheesecake BUT: Vox= Carnaby Street/Jean Shrimpton/Swingin' London/Patty Boyd/RSG/Twiggy; NOT Mamie Van Doren!) Sorry.... Oh, when you buy this great little bass amp, I insist you buy it from NORTH COAST MUSIC (online.) Here's why: I ordered through their super-duper cool website on a Sunday morning, immediately recieving my order confirmation & receipt of online payment. That evening I got an e-mail from the president of the company, Gary (whom I'd no prior knowledge of,) saying thanks for the order & that he was going to be in Minneapolis in 3 days to do business (they are located near Milwaukee,
Wis.) AND would I like to have him deliver it to me to save any additional jostling via UPS? As they say, how kool is that?! Not only that, North Coast also exceed anyone's standards by personally testing
all specs on any piece of gear before they ship it to you; then triple-
box it and expedite immediately with a risk-free 48 hour trial period, should you decide it's just not "what's happening!" But it is,
and they'll treat you right! Check out their website, they are no doubt the last word on any gear for the aspiring Beat-nut (or longhaired Marshall-mavens, too!) Did I mention that their Vox amps
come with free shipping via UPS (when the president isn't available to deliver it himself?) Saving my pennies for that mellotron
they've got next.... Thanks again; a pleasure to do business with.

Overall Rating : 10
I think I've said enough! Yes, I'd buy it again & perhaps I'll try their new T60 combo next. T25 is as versatile as I need in the living room; may even do some recording with it. Cute as a bug and a very nice looking piece of furniture, as well (just ask Izzy The Cat, who's
sleeping on it as we speak.) Sorry to be dishing out nothing but 10s
in the ratings; the whole experience has undoubtedly been a very pleasant surprise, from start to finish. Two thumbs WAY up!

This is a great little amp.I bought this amp in 2000. I play in a classic rock band.I wish this amp had an external speaker output and more power but is great for a practice or studio amp

Sound Quality : 10
I play an epiphone viola bass thru the t-25 and it is without a doubt the best sounding bass amp iv'e ever owned.I have a fender 300 watt rig that iv'e sat aside and mic the t-25 to the pa system.I Have owened: carvin, fender, mesa boogie and ampeg and none of these amps come close to the sound quality i get from my vox t-25.

This handy-dandy little bass amp totes 25 solid-state watts with a single 10" speaker, a horn tweeter, and a sub-woofer. if any body knows what those things are, then please tell me, because i have been baffled ever since i got it. it has two inputs, high and low, a four band EQ (bass, hi-mid, low-mid, and treble) and the bassilator switch. oh yeah, it also has an on switch. that hasproved to be helpful. it's a pretty versatile amp, but not for big venues. it has enough power for rehearsals and is a dream for recording, but that's about it. i wouldn't gig with it because of it's shortage of power, unless you have access to a very powerful PA system.

Sound Quality : 10
i've used a variety of basses on this little mickey, and every time it has sounded better than any tube Mesa or solid-state SWR i've played yet. even fenders sounded muddy compared to this little gem. i'm yet to find a bass amp that sounds better. my style is a combo of the paul mccartney thump and the mick grodahl growl (grondahl was the bassist for jeff buckley) this amp does it all. leaving the bassilator switch on and cutting the mids with every thing else on "5" and the tone of your pickup all the way up yields that sweet chunky growl i spoke of. putting the bass on "7" and the treble on "3" gives you the thump. in my opinion, what more do you need? if you need more versatility than that then spend 130 bucks on a zoom bfx-707. i don't see why a bass amp needs to be anything other than an amp, not a damn synthesizer. it has a little noise, though, but only when you crank the treble up. oh, and you should cut off the bassilator switch once you reach past the high volumes because this amp will try to explode.

Reliability : 10
i don't gig with it for two reasons: it isn't big enough and we don't have any gigs. but if i had to gig with it i can see it lasting forever because it's nothing more that a big car radio.i think this is the kind of amp that you could neglect sevicing because it really has nothing in it to break unless you throw it out of a truck or something.

Overall Rating : 10
this amp is great for anybody who is starting out or wants to have a practice amp. you can play just about anything with this little bugger, and even though it doesn't have a line out all you have to do is mike it. it sounds great, built like a tank, is lightweight, and is very inexpensive. i will say this again, this is not a gigging amp, unless your gig is very small, or you have a PA system handy. but i recommend you buy on anyway. now someday when i'm rich and famous, i'm gonna have Vox make me a 400 watt model of this...but i'm just dreaming right now.

This amp was made in Korea, in 2000. I'm playing both bass and
keyboard through it, since it has a 10 inch bass driver and a treble
horn, so its versatile enough for me. At 25 watts, its perfect for
home practice and some jamming, doing vintage 60's and pop rock.
It has two channels, high and low and a headphone jack, but no line
out or extension cabinet jack. The bassilator switch gives it great
deeper bass tone, but read on... Its a solid state amp with great
tone at low to medium volumes. . The shape of the cabinet is like a
scaled-down Vox Essex bass amp from the 60's.

Sound Quality : 9
The T-25 has great tones, as Vox is well noted for, which is why I
bought it. The treble setting range on the 4-band EQ is incredible
and with the treble horn, can curl your hair! I have to turn down
the treble setting when I play keyboards through it. For 6 string
guitar, its a nice, clean sounding amp.

Reliability : 5
Unfortunately, this amp had problems right out of the box. I'm a Vox
nut from WAY back and am also an electronic technician, so I voided
the warranty to see what was wrong inside the sealed cabinet. It
was cutting out even at low volume and had the same rattle that I
read about in other reviews. I touched-up some bad solder connections
on the pc board and that restored the operation to my satisfaction.
The rattle persists at higher volumes, negating the use of that great
bassilator function, except at low to medium volume.
I wouldn't use it outside the studio without a backup.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I didn't deal with Korg for any service, since, as I mentioned, I
voided my own warranty through curiosity, so I really can't rate
Vox/Korg's support. The Vox warranty is for 90 days.

Overall Rating : 7
I have been playing keyboards for about 30 years and own various
Roland and Yamaha keyboards and have recently purchased a Squire
4-string P-bass, picking up the Vox T-25 for a practice amp.
If it were stolen, I would buy another one, hoping that reviews like
this will get Vox/Korg to work the bugs out of this little beauty.
I'm even considering buying a second T-25 to run the Roland XP-10 in
stereo with that great Vox tone. (Try distortion organ - WOW!)
I bought this amp to get something larger than a pathfinder (which I
own 2 of) with a sealed cabinet for bass. I wish it had a line out
and an extension speaker jack. I keep seeing it advertised with the
black diamond grille cloth, but I bought it with the brown diamond
grille cloth, since thats the only way I've seen it in many stores.
I can't decide which is cooler... I'm glad to see Vox
is bringing out some very good affordable gear. Work the bugs out!

I'm guessing it was made in 2001 somewhere in Korea. It has a 10" speaker and a horn tweeter. It's not an incredibly versatile amp, but for smooth sounding jazz/blues/rock, it's probably perfect. I purchased it as a home practice amp. It's got your typically EQ, and a Bassilator switch which fattens up the bass frequencies.

Sound Quality : 2
This is my *second* T-25 in a month. The first one that I got had an incredible rattle coming from the area of the power switch whenever I played A notes, regardless of the volume level or the bass settings. The rattle spread to other notes as the volume went up. Forget about the bassilator, it was useless because of how much rattle it produced. I tried it on every bass I own, and even brought it into a service shop. They were immediately able to reproduce it, and thought it might be a design flaw.

So Musician's Friend kindly sent me out a new one. Same problem. Not quite as bad of a rattle, but coming from the same place, and responding to the same notes. I think that helps to support the design flaw problem.

Now, if it didn't have the rattling problem. I would give this amp a ten. My primary bass is a Rickenbacker 4003. I play mostly '60s rock. When the volume is fairly low, and the bass levels are set low, it sounds beautiful. The speaker itself doesn't distort very much at all as you turn things up, unfortunately, the rattling kicks in, which makes it unbearable.

Like I said, it's a very smooth sounding amp (aside from the obvious problems) but I would play funk on it. That's definitely not what it was made for.

So, I'm going to send the second back. Any recommendations for a good non-Vox replacement?

Reliability : 7
It's not quite as solidly built as most modern amps, but the construction is not bad. It's definitely vintage in its look and construction. I don't think that the construction has anything to do with the problems I've had, as the buzzing comes from the area under the power switch, and not from the cabinet itself.

Customer Support : 9
When I got the first one. I contacted Vox, who gave me a list of local service shops. I brought it to one of them who said it would take quite a while to fix, even if they could fix it, because they thought it was a design flaw, so I decided to just exchange it. Musician's Friend kindly sent me out a new one. And so I'm left with a brand new one with the exact same problem. I'm going to give both Vox and Musician's Friend a 9 rating because even though they couldn't solve the problem, they were very helpful.

Overall Rating : 4
I've been playing for about 3 years at this point. I have a few basses: Rick 4003, Univox Stereo Bass, Rogue VB-100, and a DeArmond Ashbory. None of these played in an acceptable fashion on the T-25. At this point, I'd choose my piece of crap Crate 15 over the T-25, just because I'd rather not deal with the crap shoot that is getting one that won't rattle on me.
