German stuff, 400W under 4Ohm, mosfet, bass-mid-treble booster, switch, good equalisation.
This is a quite versatile amp, good for the music I play (progressive rock). I use all the possibility of the amp but he need a tube preamp to sound better.
For the price and the quality, it's a very good value.

I use my Profet IV with a Hartke VX400 (ok) and a Peavy tube preamp (good). I play an Ibanez SR500, an old Warwick fortress one and an accoustic Fender. It's sounds rock with the Ibanez, jazz with the Warwick and perfect with my fender (within the preamp).
The biggest quality with this amp: the very clean sound let sound the bass. No distortion, no overdrive, only the pure sound of your instrument.

I play since ten years. The amp sounds good with my gear. I'll probably buy an ashdown EVO 500 or something like that if it where stolen. I prefer amps with more personality, I'll buy a SansAmp bass driver to give more presence... but with my rig, it sounds good.
For the price, I've never seen something better. Really.

The eq and the overall controls are good. I like the gain control with LED.

Sounds are what you can expect for this reasonably priced amp. It's not an SWR, Ampeg or Eden. Don't expect that kind off sounds.

The customer support was worthless. It drove me so mad that I find it diffcult not to swear in this review. The speaker, W411 pro, I bought with this amp did not work when I got it, I've send it back about 4 times, and every time it came back from the factory with the same defect. It took me a year to get a working speaker. My advice: Don't ever buy Warwick's stuff, absolutely worthless customer service!

I bought this amp new (February 2005) after visiting the Musician's Friend website. My main requirements for an amp were that it should deliver at least 300 watts into 4ohms and support a DI connection to a mixing board. Of course, it would also have to deliver a good solid tone like that of an Ashdown or Ampeg (my main rig is driven by an Ashdown ABM 500). The Warwick Pro Fet IV gives the Ampeg B2R and SVT III some solid competition--for less than half the price! I've had about 20 4-hour practice sessions and gigged with this amp in two medium-sized clubs. I've pushed the amp to 3/4 of it's volume and have nothing but positive things to say about its sound, tone, and reliability (so far). Speakers I use with this amp are either an Ampeg 12" Portabass cabinet (rated @ 200 watts--gotta watch the volume to keep the cab from blowing up) or an Ashdown 4-10 cabinet. The amp is very versitile with its effects loops, headphone jack, and mute switch (for tuning). It also has boost controls for bass, mid, and treble that I activate or cut before I monkey around with the graphic EQ. The only thing I can think of that the amp needs is a 1/4" jack out to speaker. It has a single Speakon outlet on the back of the amp and a 6' Speakon cable was supplied with the unit--I had to make a trip to the music store to buy an $18 adapter.

I've been able to get a really nice tone from all of my basses with this amp. I use a Roscoe SKB 3005, Carvin XB75, 79' MusicMan Sabre, and 76' Fender Jazz. The bands I play in focus on Rock (70's-80's) and Alternative Rock genres. The Warwick Pro Fet IV delivers a warm, clean sound on most settings. There is a noticable hum when the tone knob is at greater than 50% and treble boost is activated. If graphic EQ is activated the hum gets much louder. The hum goes away if the tone knob is dialed under 50%, treble boost is cut, or graphic EQ is cut. This hasn't been a problem for me since I prefer a deep bass sound. I occasionally like to play harmonics and found it really easy to dial in a good setting that brought those out nicely.

Given the price ($399), tonal variety, and 400 watts of power this amp is a GREAT deal. I've been playing bass for about 30 years and have owned a variety of amps (Peavey, Fender, Sunn, GK, Ampeg). My main rig is an Ashdown ABM 500 that has incredible sound, tone, and volume. Ashdowns SOUND like Ashdowns. I originally bought the Warwick Pro Fet IV to use when practicing or for playing clubs in not so nice parts of town (reduce the wear on the Ashdown). The wide range of tonal possibilities with the Warwick Pro Fet IV have made it far more versitile than I imagined. The Ashdown can stay at home or in the van for most gigs while I give the Warwick a workout.
