Warwick Quad VI head, made in Germany. Don't know about the year it was made in, but I think it's somewhere around 2004-2005. I got my hands on it on the German Ebay for 550 euros, which according to me is a steal :)

Single-channel tube preamp, solid-state power amp. 600 Watts @ 4 ohms. Loud! Mono effects loop, DI out (pre/post, ground lift), headphone jack. Speakon and XLR outs. Grab one if you find it somewhere, since they do not manufacture it anymore. 17 kgs.

Front panel: Quadrumatrix switch, bass, mid1, mid2, treble, gain and master volume rotary controls. Switches for tuner mute, power on/off, mid-shift1, mid-shift2, low boost and high boost.

Very simple to operate, a real workhorse.

What I really like about the features is that it has no "preamp clip" LED, but a "signal min / tube sat" LED. When you play lightly the LED flashes green. When you push harder the LED turns yellow as the tubes get pushed more. By turning the gain knob upwards you can even get a nice somewhat "nicely distorted" sound! Perfect!

I use a Warwick Streamer Jazzman 4 and a Music Man Sterling. My cabinets vary, I now use a pair of EBS NEO-112's. I've also used it with a Warwick W611 Pro 6x10".

I mainly play rock covers (Rainbow, Purple and some Finnish stuff). This amp suits me very good. It's very versatile, it goes very easily from RATM to thumpy reggae by fiddling with the EQ. I normally use positions 1 and 2 of the Quadrumatrix. (www.warwick.de probably has the user manual available for download, if you want to study the frequencies of the Q-M switch). Not noisy at all.

I give it a 10 because this amp really is my cup of tea. I like it better than the amps that I've previously owned including an Ampeg V4BH.

Very dependable, no problem has ever occurred. I've used it for about one and a half years now. I've also owned a Pro Fet III by Warwick, it also was flawless.

The Finnish importer Musamaailma Inc. are very friendly and answer e-mails quite fast. I've not had any problems whatsoever with this amp, but I got in touch with them after buying a defect bass cab from them. Nice service!

The people down at the Warwick HQ in Germany are very nice, fast replies. Also you people from the U.S. should IMO get in touch with the people of the HQ and especially the forum down at www.warwick.de. To me it appears that the American website warwickbass.com does usually NOT have the latest headlines.

I've been playing actively for about 7 years now. If it was stolen I'd try to get a new one, or maybe an SWR 750x. I love the sheer loudness and the great tone of the amp. It could be less heavy though.

I had no option to compare it since I bought it from eBay. However, I test drove the same amp in a store beforehand and found it suitable for me. I like it a lot better than the Ampeg V4BH that i also have owned.

If you are after an amp that's loud, versatile and good-sounding, give it a try. The same sound could MAYBE be achieved also from the Quadruplet preamp and a big solid-state power amp.

600W Valve Amp. Looks the 'real deal' really nice. Weighs a ton. Paired with a Warwick 'Terminator' cab. Plenty of features/EQ variation available. Use with Warwick Corvette 5 string.

Good Sounds (when it works). Thumping Lows, nice 'growl'. Good for most styles I imagine. I play Power metal, and it is fine.

Bought in March this year. It's been back with to the distributor more than I have had it. It sounded great for about 3 rehearsals, then went rapidly downhill, sounding like a sick sheep at one point. Two repairs later, and I used it last night for 45 minutes before the sound started to fail, and the limit light on the master volume started to get aggitated. Then the input gain light started to do the same.

The Amp sounded amazing when I first got it, but now I find it totally unreliable. I can't trust it to survive rehearsals or gigs. I got rid of my 120Watt laney head and cabs, to move to what I thought would be 'Pro' gear. What a joke.

I will be asking the distro for either a replacement unit, or a refund today.

Trouble is, I love the amp, and it matches my rig...

Customer service (MAD in the UK) have been good, and it's not their fault that the Amp is a duffer.

They're nice people and all return phone calls etc, but I just wish that I didn't have to speak to them so often

I'm sure that this is a on-off problem with this Amp. It doesn't help any tho'.

Being that I don't have pots of cash, and I sold my old rig, I'm a bit fed up about it (to put it mildly).

600W - although i'd say it's at least 700W (conservatively rated). Tube preamp, solid state poweramp. Power amp tube in the preamp to give all tube sound when selected. 4 band rotary eq. Bass, high, mid 1 and mid 2 boost. Mute switch. Tuner out. Speakon, XLR outs. DI switchable from pre and post. Quadrumatix rotary dial - 4 changes to preamp settings. 3 and 4 utilise the power amp tube that's in the preamp.

The W on the front lights up! Cool.

Lacks a resistance selector. And when put in my rack is h e a v y.

Sound Quality : 10
Use it with my Ibanez BTB 500 and Warwick 411 pro 4x10. I play rock and metal type stuff. The thing is awesome. Don't even need my compressor any more. The thing is very very versatile. From metal to Jazz it is great.

Quadrumatix selections allow different preamp settings. All are very useable. They even change the ranges of the tone controls. Used with the 411 Pro and a 15 makes for a deadly combination.

Reliability : No Opinion
Haven't had it that long so I wouldn't know. But I do get the feeling that it's good quality.

The dealer in Australia isn't that nice. However I have contacted Warwick in Germany and they are super. Quick, accurate friendly response to my emails. Even kicked a little Australian Distributer butt for me....

If it were stolen or lost I'd definitely get another. The thing really is good. I tried it against SWRs, Trace Elliots, GKs, Ampegs, Hartkes the lot. It came out on top. But not only the amp is a gem so is the cab. If you're getting this or any other head try the Warwick 411 Pro. The thing is a beast. The HF horn is a beast. They only rate the cab at 600W RMS but it actually should be 800W as the four drivers are capable of 200W each. The horn can give 150W.

This thing is great but don't take my word for it. Try one and see for yourself.
