This was custom built in Adelaide by Frank at Custom Music. Made in late 2005. Its valve pre-amp and mofset power stage deliver straight up clean and fat sounding bass with ease. 2 lines in and support for 2 external speaker boxes (I currently use 1 quad).
I am in an 'emerging band' and this bass amp has more power than I've ever used so far. We cranked it up at a new year party and I think my neighbours still hate me for it.
This amp has no bells and whistles - which is part of its beauty - however if you need mods made to these amps, their creator - Frank could surely sort you out.

I am using a 4003 rickenbacker with this amp. I got inspired by the bass sounds from bands like the mark of cain (another local adelaide product). I play this mainly in my jam room which has a bar and it shakes the glasses on volume level 3! at 3 and a half it easily keeps up with our drummer.
You can hear the fan humming away when it is dead quiet in a room but this is no real problem. The recordings and live performances using these amps are nothing short of clean and awesome.

I went to a gig (TMOC) recently where the bass player used one of these and the guitarist used a mesa boogie. It was a hot night and the bass amp cranked its way through the set with the mesa-boogie dying a miserable death that needed extra pedestal fans to cool it down. The guitarist used to use Woogie amps too, and rumour has it that he will return to them - as he should !

Frank is helpful and friendly. The warranty was 1 year but any damage and I know I would have no troubles getting Frank to repair his creation. That's the benefit of dealing with a local who is passionate about his product.

Been playing it for a few months and admiring them from a far for many years. I am stoked to finally own one. If I lost it, I would call Frank immediately to get another.
You simply cant beat it from a value for money perspective.
My guitarist purchased an equivalent guitar amp and it is just as awesome as this amp (he plays a SG with a bigmuff infront).
If you want a bass amp to give your bass BALLS - get one of these amps !
