Its size and use means it does not need many features but one of the best features it has as daft as it sounds is it line out as most of the more expensive bass amps I've had don't have this feature which is very handy when you want to record live demo songs and want a realistic sound

Sound Quality : 10
Probably the best amp i've ever had to cover all bass sounds and ideas. For its price it has the best tone and feel especially if you want a bass sound with lots of drive and energy.

Reliability : 10
I've had this amp for 8 years now and except one problem with the input socket its never let me down unlike others bass amps I've had.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 10
I bought this amp because I had a limited budget. I had never heard of Yorkville before but its a really really good amp. Its pretty light, sounds great and has never let me down. I bought in the meantime bigger and more costly bass amps but I still keep going back to the Yorkville 100b to record and to gig at small venues.

90's model i got it used from a friend of mine. I play in a funk-jazz trio and in a pop-rock band. I use this for gigs that aren't real big. It's got one input, 3 band EQ (bass, mid, treble) and an effects loop, line out (1/4") and a headphone jack. 100 watts with a 15" speaker, weighs about 40 lbs. It's a very basic and simple amp, which is why i like it. The speaker could use an upgrade and the tone controls don't really do anything, but i bought the thing for $100, i'm not complaining at all.

Sound Quality : 8
I use a Fender American Vintage '75 Reissue Jazz, and a Fender Jazz Fretless. The tone is very clean and non-colored. It amplifies the basses tones and that's about it. The tone knobs don't affect it much at all, but i don't care cause i keep my EQ flat anyway.

Reliability : 10
I have owned this for 8 years now and i have only had 1 problem. The input jack broke and i had to replace it. I took it to my local tech and he did it for like $40. Other than that, this thing has seen a lot of bars, clubs, and cafes and it is still going very strong. It can definately take a beating.

I know Yorkville is a great company that has a great reputation. I am very confident in their customer support.

I have been playing for about 8 years. If this was lost or stolen i wouldn't buy another one. I would get something else. It's nothing against the amp, i love the thing, it's just that i would get something that colors my tone some (probably tube). I got this for so cheap that the thing is like gold to me. It serves as a combo amp for the road and a backup for the gigs that need the big rig. It really is a nice little amp that packs a punch. If you like to just play and not twist knobs and haul a bunch of gear, than this combo is for you.

bought in late nineties. Basic, Bass mid treb and some jacks

I didn't buy it for crazy functions I just needed a speaker for my bass

Sound Quality : 7
This amp would sound okay if you were playing in a band that plays at low volumes. However when I use this for band practices it just doesn't keep up. This amp sounds nice if you don't have to dime it like I do. At full blast it distorted very badly. I have found a way to make it sound cool and loud. I plug bass into a slightly older peavey tko and I run a line out of that amp and into the yorkville. It's great cuz the peavey has a way better eq . This is probably very bad for the yorkville but it sounds awesome.

Reliability : 10
These are solid amps. very dependable. no malfuntions.

I'm sure there fine, there canadian

If I lost this amp I would probably wouldn't replace but only because I don't need a practice amp. It does what it is supposed to.

I got this amp in '98 (I was 13). I was pretty much a novice when I got it, so I just wanted basic amplification. I used this in tons of jam sessions at full volume, the rumble is thunderous on this thing! Its EQ is very basic (bass/mid/treble, -15 to +15), and it also has an effects loop, (no clue how to use it) a quarter inch line out and a headphone jack.

Sound Quality : 8
This amp is very straightforward when it comes to tone; what your bass sounds like is what the amp will sound like. There isn't any coloration in the bass's sound. That can be both a good thing and a bad thing, depending on your tastes. My only problem is that I find this amp's midrange to be very honky and nasal sounding. So my settings are always like, bass +8, mid -6, treble 0. That's the best setting you can get with the ultra-basic EQ.

I've recorded some tracks with this, using my Warwick Corvette Standard, and the results are much better using the amp's line out instead of using a mic. And thats because the amp is pretty clean. Its kind of noisy but that could be the EMG single coils on the Warwick. The tonal palettes of each guitar can be heard through the amp, like I said there isn't much coloration.

Reliability : 9
The amp is pretty durable, but then again I'm not a working musician or anything, so it hasn't been battle tested all that much. It has lasted me almost 6 years now without any problems.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 7
All in all it's a good amp, and it's served me well for the time that I've had it, but comparing it with some of the newer combo amps, there are better choices. This amp is great for the starting newbie (I was there too), but I'm seeking out a little more tone and midrange bite. I'm not bitching about the fact that it doesn't have an on-board limiter, gain, or whatever, I dont really need those things anyway...but sonically, in terms of tonality, there are better sounding amps (though not many). Still a good amp though.

Pretty much as everyone else has stated, the 100B has basic, just-what-you-need-to-get-by features. NO bells or whistles. That's a turn-off for an "extreme" bass player, but for a blue-collar joe like me it's allright. I have to agree that the blue carpet look sucks. HOWEVER...this thing is also make of 3/4" plywood, rather than that chip-board crap or whatever it is that Fender makes their amps with. It seriously looks like I could throw it off the back of a pickup and it just might still work. The great thing about Yorkville is their 2/10 warrenty. Even if you set it on fire, they will replace it for up to two years. And if something goes wrong with their own craftsmanship, you get 10 years. Another cool feature is the velcro strap that holds your amp cord folded nicely in back (thus the carpet). My favorite feature (although the 15" speaker is a little cramped in the small cabinet), is that for 45 lbs. it's a powerhouse.

Sound Quality : 10
I play a six string bass, and do a lot of thumb-thumping and plucking, and my Yorkville keeps up just fine. I haven't noticed any trumble with the B-string, it seems to push enough wattage to blare out the noise I'm looking for. It's pleasing to have my bass sitting on its stand, plugged in, and not be able to tell whether or not the amp is turned on because there is no buzz or hiss. And it's pretty bloody loud when you're playing. If you are going to play in a room with 25-100 people and good acoustics, this amp is won't rattle intestines past the first few rows, but people in the back will still be able to hear just fine.

Reliability : 10
This thing is a rock. I have never, and probably will never, need a backup amp. I could probably do a step aroebic workout on it (and I weigh over 200) in the middle of a gig and not worry one iota about it crapping out on me.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Great warranty...I've never had to take them up on it, so I honestly have no idea about that.

Overall Rating : 10
I love this amp. Since Yorkville has to ship out of Canada, when I bought it I had to wait about four weeks so the place I was buying it from lent me another amp to gig with. The one I got was a Fender 100 watt amp. Not only was it about thirty pounds heavier than my Yorkville (I was shocked when it came in, after using the Fender), but it would've cost $350 MORE and didn't have as good of sound quality. I LIKE YORKVILLE! I recommend 'em big time, particularly for the amount of money.

This is an early 90's 100b. very simple...one master/treb/mid/bass knobs...very easy to find a good tone.

Sound Quality : 10
very clear and punchy for its size, and price! i had a crate bx100 which was crappy in comparison, and was more expensive. i wish i had bought one of these instead. i play emg active p-ups through this amp, and it sounds great. very clear. doesn't distort except on very high volumes. this amp is perfect for practice and rehearsal, unless you have a really loud cymbal crazy drummer because you won't be able to hear anything. i rate it a 10 on sound because for the price it's great.

Reliability : 10
no problems so far. no repairs done, reliable as hell. i've played the shit out of this thing and it still works fine.

Customer Support : No Opinion

Overall Rating : 10
this is the ultimate practice/rehearsal amp. very portable and light compared to other combos of similar wattage. yorkville and traynor products can't be beat for price.

bought the amp in 2000. very simple one channel design is very easy to get a good tone from.Internal speaker is 4ohm so you have access to all 100 watts of clean power.perfect for rehearsals and small gigs. I've even used it to its limit on an outdoor gig with no p.a. support. It not only survived, it fared much better than I thought it would.Externally, I'm not a huge fan of the blue carpet covering yorkville likes so much.Basic black would look way better.

Sound Quality : No Opinion
I'm using a musicman stingray with it and it sounds amazing for its relativly small size although I wish the cabinet was a little larger. The 15 inch speaker is sqeezed in there pretty tight. If you have a 5 string bass, your low B wont speak as well as your other strings. But,it has tightness and punch that you wouldn't expect for its small size.It has the wamth for traditional cajun music, the punch for agressive zydeco, and the edge for rock.I just adjust the bass and treble controls on my stingray for each style. With an active pickup, its pretty darn loud.

Reliability : No Opinion
reliability is not even a concern. The amp is great and have had no problems.I suspect the simple layout keeps the number of parts ,and problems ,down.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I used to work for a yorkville dealer. The people were always very easy to work with.

Overall Rating : No Opinion
my main gig setup is an ampeg svt pro 3 with a david eden 410 xlt cabinet. the small amps made by eden and swr sound great to,but the bm100 is less expensive and sounds equally good if not better. For the money,in my humble opinion, there is nothing better in its class.

This a great amp, it is the perfect size for band practice and isn't a hassel to haul around. The features on the 100B are pretty basic, efeddts loop, hedphone jack, mid-tone control. Goes very loud for a resonably small solid state amp.

Sound Quality : 10
I pick my bass and the response I get is great. With the right bass and string setup you can get great tone. We play in a small room in a basement and the amp really echos, great sound.

Reliability : 10
Great relliabillity for people like me who only play small gigs like at schools or small halls. My amp has never broken down or has had any kind of defect.

Customer Support : 10
I've never had to deal directly with the company, but I do have a 1 year warenty on parts and labour. I'm sure the service is top notch, why not, there amp is...

Overall Rating : 10
Great amp, f you are looking for a beginers amp a band practice amp or an amp for small gigs, this is the amp you are looking for. Not to cheap but worth all the money put in trust me.

1 channel, effects loop, headphone jack, line out, 3 band eq, master volume. it can compete with drums. the drummer i play with uses some quieter sticks but i can be heard with volume at 11' oclock.

Sound Quality : 5
i use a cheep p-bass copy and a fender standard jazz. it handels the bass really well and sounds great on the e string. it doesn't do to good on the higher stuff. you have to keep the mid and high eq's all the way up if you want notes on the d or g strings to be heard.

Reliability : 10
it's like a big heavey rock. metal grating on the front. i don't think it can be broken. i haven't had any problems

i've had this amp for around 6 months and i realy like it. really good with low stuff but weak on high notes. i bought it over the crate 100 watt. the crate had better sound but was to big. the 100b is much more portable and about $40 cheeper (the week after i bouth it the crate went on sale for $10 less than the yorkville). i would probably get something bigger if it were lost or stolen.
