I'm not sure what year this cabinet was made but it has the ubiquitous blue carpet covering and black plastic corners. The grill is an off-silver colour rather than the flat black that I've seen in the Yorkville photo archives. Quite basic as far as bass cabinets go: two 1/4" inputs on the back, four 10" Eminence drivers, a non-defeatable compression tweeter, and two side-mounted steel handles. The overall contruction is robust. I had the grill off and the drivers out to look inside and noted that the plywood is 1" thick and that there were insulations bats placed behind each driver. I had heard that wiring has been problematic on these cabinets but after visual inspection, all the solder points looked good to me. It is quite compact for a 410 and weighs about 80 pounds. Its impedance is 8 ohms and is rated for 500 watts.

I picked this cabinet up (lightly) used, specifically to employ for 'playing out'. I wanted something solid, inexpensive, and with useable tone. My previous configuration was 210/115, which I liked, but having 'fans' throw up near/knock over your pristine equipment gets old fast. The Yorkville produces a goodly amount of volume with the 450 watts or so my amp provides at 8 ohms and if someone knocks it over, no real headache. I also appreciate that it is a very shallow cabinet, only about 16" deep, which means it goes in the back seat of my car with little fuss. A small internal volume has its tradeoffs, though, as you will not be able to coax thunderous amounts of bass out of such a compact box. With a decent PA, this is usually a non-issue, but if I need more lows, I pair it with a 115. Thus far, I have only needed the other cabinet once, and for a large stage in a big room. For the local clubs with a 100-200 person capacity that our band normally plays in, the 410 works fine. The only issue I have had is readjusting my ear, as the sound from the smaller box heads past my knees instead of my chest (in the case of 210/115 set up). Tilting the cab slightly has alleviated this issue to a degree.

Yorkville has a solid reputation for dependability. I expect this cabinet to continue to give good service indefinitely. If it breaks, it should be easy to repair. If not, well, I bought it on the cheap, so no big loss.

I've been playing bass for over 20 years. I have lots of 'good' equipment and I know what I like in terms of tone. The 410B provides a very serviceable tone and does what it should do without taking up much space. This, for me, makes it very good value, especially for what one can be had for these days.

Having it bought new in ??99,mine was I think one of the last series with the famous blue carpet. It??s features are great and reliable. It??s steered by the accompagning amplifier, with 10-band EQ,Limiter;treshold and a contour switch. It completely fulfilled my expectations and beyond, and never had any problem with it so far.The only thing I wished they??d improved,is that the contour switch shouild??ve been a rotary blending knob,as pushing the switch makes a brutal difference in sound.

The sound quality is absolutely outrageous, and this thing can scare people, thanks to it??s brutaly heavy output. It handles absolutely every musical style and handles professional gigs in a flawless way.
It??s never noisy or sensitive to bad electronic cirquits or buzz, although other users sometimes stated different. The variety of sounds it can produce is completely endless.Distotion at high volumes(and I mean sometimes very, very high volumes),is something that has never occured to me.I tried electronic drums, synthesisers, vocals, and guitars, and everything sounded pure and straightforward. If I had the cash,I??d have these cabinets for every instrument; You can use ??em for about everything!

Boy can you rely on this thing!
I do agree with some users here on 1 thing in particular; It is increadibly heavy in weight!Very, very heavy indeed.I don??t consider myself a weak young man,but I ain??t no powerlifter either;Well, you??d better be one, because it has no wheels, just two handles. You need an extra hand from fellow musicians,or some free beer for a roadie friend.Sometimes I pick it up myself, and after the gig, when somebody wants to help,I tell??em to get the Yorkville, and they just can??t believe I got it in by myself, but then you do get used to it if you know what I mean...

When I bought it,Yorkville had a lovely website with an interactive tour that allowed you to take a journey through all production-stages until shipping. It all seemed very professional,as it was completely hand-build!
I got introduced to Yorkville at the Frankfurter-Messe in Germany.Believe it or not,but an increadibly beautiful 19 year old girl ,with Jennifer Batten kind of looks, was standing on top of two Yorkville cabinets, just ripping her bass to funky shreds! My mate who was there with me,owns a musicstore in Belgium, and we got a very good deal on the York,as they were trying to gain over the European market!I don??t know about their support afterwards, because I never needed them. But the girl was professional, kind and helpful.

I,ve been playing bass on a Hohner the Jack for over 15 years and had it fed by Crate,Marshall, and Roland. All very decent material, but nothing comes close to the Yorkville. It might be even a bit too much for general practicing, but it inhibits true professional value.I??ve had problems with all sorts of gear, especially the more electronic kind of gear, but the Yorkville stands out and garantees years of playing pleasure.I tried EBS,SWR,Hartke,Trace Elliot, and other expensive brands, but for it??s price,I found the Yorkville broader and more suitable for more different styles.I don??t know this for sure, but it gives me the impression that it holds it??s value on the market for a long time.A very good product indeed.

I think it is a 1997 model.
It is used for playing top 40 country and crossover music.
Blue carpet, 8 ohms, heavy duty set in handles.
It has 4 Eminence 10" speakers and 1 HF tweeter centered.
I push it with a Crate 350 watt tube head, and also have used a Hatrke 450 watt head on it. played large to small venues with it. real strong in small to medium venues. It has never crapped out even at high volume levels. The tweeter does disappear @ 90dcbs.

Very versitile at medium volume levels. Lots of growl. Very comparable to Ampeg SVT 410. Very HEAVY!

I've been playing Bass for over 30 years. You can imagine how many rigs I've owned over those years. Right now I play a Fender Jazz MIM,
Ibanez SR300DX, and my FAV, RWG RB5300L! Pedals - Behringer V Tone Bass BDI21, ZOOM 506. The thing I love about my yorkville cab is that it will go from serious thump to searing slaps in the same setting. All I can say is "Workhorse".

This is an update....
It is a Yorkville Y410 bass speaker cabinet.
I have had it for many years.
Very nice sounding but even better when I add a 1X15 Yorkville cabinet.
Both are 8 ohms.
I have used it with several amps both solid state and tube.
Surprisingly the best amp for this cabinet is a Behringer B4500H.
450 watts with shape control.
I had problems with the cabinet cutting out, buzzing then it quit all together.
Prevously I had to resolder the light bulb overload protection bracket and resolder a wire on the crossover.
This time it was another problem but still solder related.
The input jacks are soldered directly to a PCB.
After close inspection I found that the solder joints on both jacks were cracked and not making contact.
Easy fix by resoldering.
Considering the amount of abuse this cabinet has taken in the last 10+ years this should be expected.
I suggest that anyone who has a speaker cabinet that is hauled around to gigs and used often should open it up and go over all the solder joints yearly.
Simple maintenace that will save you greif in the future.
The Emenance speakers not only sound great but they hold up very well.
Never had a speaker or horn related problem.
But on a few rare occasions the overload light bulb has lit up saving the horn from blowing.
This is the blue carpet covered model.
They don't come any better....or heavier.

I don't know when my amp was made but its old!It has the dark carpet that used to be blue!I used it in an cover band that played many styles from james brown to tragically hip with a bit of slow ballads thrown in and it helped my sound.Mine didn't have a tweeter in it.

I use a hohner pj bass and a peavey foundation with flatwounds along with the yorkville 400 b bass head that is old to!I had to get two of the speakers with replaced abut it was bought used and I had actually borrowed this same cab from one of its previous owners and used it for 2 years without any problems. The music store that put two new 10 inch speakers in it also put a tweeter in it!A sansamp di pedal also makes this sound alive!

This is an older model.
Blue carpet covering.
Eminence speakers and horn.
Not many features.
It is heavy.
But what do you expect for a bass cab?

I have used this cabinet for almost everything at one time or another.
Used it for a monitor at a large outdoor gig.
Used it with a guitar synth, keyboard, mic'ing drums, vocals with a SWR 350 amp, G&K, Marshall Super Lead head, Marshall JCM 900 head, Pioneer 400 watt stereo amp, power amps.
I will soon be using it with a 1X15 and Ampeg SVT ot Boogie 400.
It recreates the sound that is put in to it without coloring it.

It worked perfectly for a couple years then started sounding buzzy.
A wire broke off the crossover.
I repaired it and soon it quit working all together.
More broken wires.
I haven't dug in to it yet but it will need a complete rewire with bigger and better wiring.
I wouldn't bother fixing it but is sounds so good and has held up so well that I have no choice.
Bass cabs take a lot of abuse and bouncing around in a car or van doesn't help on long hauls.

I'm getting old and I would like something lighter but weight = tone.
I wish it had a switch to turn off the horn.

Well, mine has to be fixed, the unit in the back has a disconeted coil and which cause that tweeter horn to buzz, crackle do whatever like it's blown, but other than that it is good.

I've been playing it for 3 and half years now. I havn't any problems untill now with it. I wouldn't buy it again, I would just buy an Ampeg SVT Classic 810. But for that money again, it is for good price.
