Not sure what year it was made, it seems versatile as a keyboard amp, guitar amp if you tweak the eq. It's light and portable, and tough and inexpensive

Sound Quality : 7
working with a line 6 pod, various guitars, but primarily it;s a practice amp that i can use at the school for kids to play through or to take for small gigs at the church. Good sound at low volumes.

Reliability : 8
Mine looked pretty beat up when I bought it from a pawn shop, it crackled a bit when the volume was turned, but that disappeared after a couple of twists. This thing is tough, everything works fine.

Never dealt with Yorkville, although L&M in Toronto sells lots of their stuff and it's usually very well thought out equipment. I've heard service is usually prompt and on the ball for stuff.

Playing 26 years now, woa that sounds long. I'd buy another one used, but new, I'm sure there's something better but for at least twice the price now. For what I paid used, it's going to work hard for the money, so i better treat it right.

Year unknown, I think the actual name for it is Y50B, blue carpet covering. I use it for a practice amp, have never gigged w/ it but I'm sure it would be fine in an acoustic setting or mellow jazz type thing. I've used it in practice with a full band and I was amazed that it actually kept up with a drummer and guitar player! One channel, line out, headphone jack, volume, bass, mid, and treble controls. 50 watts, 1x10' speaker. Pretty basic but its got everything I need in a practice amp. Very portable also.

Sound Quality : 7
I use a pre-cbs P bass ('64 or '65 I think), I play mostly blues/blues rock. I've also used it for my Kay upright w/ a Fishman pickup/pre-amp. It is very clean, has a nice punchy mid-range boost, not the harsh treble that most smaller amps have. The low end is pretty limited, but it only starts to break up if its cranked up to 10. I usually run the bass @ 7 or 8, the mid @ 3 or 4, and the highs @ 5 or 6. It has a nice rounded tone, the 10" is punchy enough to cut through in a live setting. The cabinet shape helps push the low end. It does distort if its cranked to 10, but if you cut it back to 8 or so, it sounds fine. It works very well w/ the upright, kind of like the old Polytone Mini brute.

Reliability : 8
Seems solid, I would use it as a backup, since it has a line out, I'm sure it would sound good through a PA. I've never had it serviced, bought it used.

Never used them, I bought it used at a pawn shop, so warrenty is not an issue. Dont know if I'd be willling to spen a lot to get it fixed if it broke, probably just look for another one.

I've been playing bass for over 25 years, had too many amps to mention. I currently use an Ampeg b-100r, an old Acoustic 320 head paired w/ a EV 115B, or my old '62 Bassman w/ a 2x10 cabinet, depending on the size of gig I'm doing. I almost bought the Yorkville 200 based on how much I like this amp, but I got a killer deal on my Ampeg. The Acoustic is very loud, the Bassman has a sweet vintage tube tone like no other. The Ampeg is a great combo amp. So this little Yorkville will remain my living room amp. A great all-around beginner/practice amp.

Quite a nice sound for a tiny amp. I'm playing a passive jazz bass, and the tone is warm and full.
There's a bit of buzz and hiss that is associated with the amp, not the guitar, but it's really not a problem. In fact, in general it's much less than the hiss you'd get out of a mid-range bass.

Reliability : 9
I've had it for three years now. I msotly use it as a practice amp, but I also gig with it for really small venues, like your typical coffee house. I've halled it everywhere in all kinds of weather, and I've never had a problem

Haven't had to use them.

A fabulous practice amp, and very nice for very small gigs, as well. I can't speak for its tone as a rock bass, but for a mellow sound I really like it.

Made in 1995
solid state, 50 watts through 1 10" speaker
1 channel, 3 tone knobs, line out, headphone jack
I play my guitar through it, when I am not jamming on my t-rect.
Kind of lame tone and distortion qualities at low power. What I do is turn up the amp volume full, and adjust volume/distortion from my pedal. This way I can get a clearer and sharper tone.
This is a bass amp so the only way you can get a good tone for guitar is to play around with many different setups. When I do play bass through this, the sound is kind of lame.

Sound Quality : 6
I have an Ibanez AX-7, Ibanez humbuckers-not the hottest.
Considering this is a bass amp, not designed for guitar, I get a pretty good distortion tone, while still maintaining clarity and sharpness. I cannot give credit to the amp on this though because it there is only one good setting, and it takes a while to get right.

Reliability : 8
It looks and feels strong. The input jack sometimes gives me trouble, I took the amp apart and it looks like it is just crappy componentry. Other than that this thing is tough
