2x10 cabinet made in 2006. Steel grill, side handles, tweeter is defeatable. Very sturdy construction, weighs about 60 pounds. Also quite deep in dimension for a 2x10, close to a Mesa. 300 watt power handling, rough-as-hell grey tolex that will remove the skin from your knuckles if you are careless.

Sound Quality : 9
Sound is subjective. One person's sonic mecca is a bloated cacophony to another. I very much like the sound of this box. It has considerable bass response, enough to use it alone at a quiet, coffe-house sized gig and not be lost in the mix. The tweeter produces a copious amount of hiss when turned up over half on the pad, so I leave it around 10 o'clock. It sounds plenty bright at that setting anyway. I run a BTB 5 through this cab and a Nemesis 1x12 combo when playing at home or jamming with friends. This configuration produces a mere 170 watts but the sound is bright, warm and punchy. On the rare instance when I play out I usually run the Yorkie with an old Peavey 2x15 and a Traynor MonoBlock II head. This combination is very pleasing: tons of deep bass and piercing highs. I love it.

Reliability : No Opinion
So far, so good. Truth be told, this cab is not mine yet. I am renting it from L&M for a few months. As of now, I am impressed and planning to buy it out later in the year. Time will tell as far as dependability goes.

No opinion as of yet.

This little cab is not cheap (around $550 CDN) but is a quality buy, IMO. I want to acquire a 1x15 and an XS800 and run the three together for a gut-wrenching metal setup. I like the sound and construction. I dislike the aggressive tweeter, but as before, you can turn it down or off. For those of us who cannot justify the cost of boutique cabs and the like, I'm happy with the Yorkville offerings.
