This a additional review now that I have owned and played this cab for a couple months now!

The Birch plywood cabinet is extremely strong/stiff, that is what assit in the punchy lows as well as tight mids/high this monster delivers.

Sound Quality : 10
Still using the Washburn XB-925 which i have grown to love ( p-Funk/Bootsy Collins plays this bass)
Cabinet is quite as a mouse.

I should better explain the highs of this cabinet versus my 1st review. The cutoff at 15,000 hz keps the highs very clean. Most cabs that I have played that go 18,000 or even worse 20,000 simply provide a sterile brittle slap tone as well as producenoise/or hiss

My band members shake their heads I how awesome the bass projects our signature tones

Reliability : 10
I would literally scratch my head if this were to ever faulter as it is thebest built cab I have ever played and the speakers are 1st class drivers unlike other big name company constanly looking to shave quality while charging a equivalent or most cases a higher price.

Yorkville is a Canadian Company that is founded on quality and over the years have increased substantially the quality of their products versus figuring out how to get over on consumers.

I will admit I would prefer to BUY US made, however unsless custom made $$$$$ most american manufacturers have sold us out to the oriental market ( these guys will never see my business ever again as long as I have a option like Yorkville)

I have dealt with Ampeg, fender,Peavey,SWR,Ashdown and others and basically they suck when I compare against the value of the latest Yorkvile product line!

Don't get me wrong I am a american and still have some pride regarding being a american.

I am just absoloutely sick of american companies making decisions ( using the ignorant world economy cope out to basically steal our money by shipping crap product and service)

I know first hand as I imported products from China ( for a very short period of time) and the fault rate was very high and quality overall very poor.
Sam at Impact Audio has earned my praise as I can very particular when it comes to quality and his organization exemplifies a perfect example of what american business can do to provide a quality, trustworthy and rewarding/loyal customer purchasing.
experience. Sam You are a credit to our American Heritage

I pretty much had given up on most music equipment manufacturers however Yorkville and Impact Audio have rejuvinated my faith once again.

Some one needs to let Yorkville know what a awesome dealer they have with Impact Audio. I attached the link for you to exeperience a true quality PRO music Gear provider http://impactaudio.biz/index.html

Year 2006
Very versatile as I play Funk, Rock and some country and it nails them all.
I bought the Yorkville XS800 bass head and it really drives the cabinet well with 400 watts at 4 ohms.
Cabinet is built to withstand a sonic explosion. Heavy but it is made to last!

Sound Quality : 10
I use a Washburn Custom Shop XB925 with 18-volt bartolini soapbars.
Extremely punchy with deep lows and sweet mids as well as highs.
Very quite and never breaks up regardless of a low b slap or popping the high E.
This cab never distorts unless you are adding distortion from the amp ( which I never do)
I noticed the highs are so clean due to cutting hiaghs at 15,000Khz versus many other at 18,000. I was using a Ampeg BSE410-HLF and a Peavey TVX 210 and combined with the same head cannot touch the tone projection, tightness, punch or clarity of the XC808.
I could not have chosen a better sounding cabinet regardless of maker or price. i am absoloutely thrilled!
Blows the SWR Henry away!

Reliability : 10
I have never had any issues with the head or cabinet!
Unlike the Ampeg ( blown horn and crossover replaced) as well as carpet bulling away from the Ampeg.
No worries!

Customer Support : No Opinion
Never had to call them, unlike Ampeg which is going to hell in a hand basket since Loud technologoes bought ampeg. I was tired of calling Ampeg/Loud Technologiesand holding 30+ minutes without a answer twice so I hung up and order the Yorkville VC808.

Yorkville builds it to last so you are unlikely to even call.

Bought from Impact Audio and the owner called twice to ensure safe arrival and purchase satisfaction! Awesome and Highly recommend buying from ImpactAudio.com

Overall Rating : 10
Been playing since 1978.
If lost or stolen I would not think twice to buy another.
I have played them all and have not found a better cabinet!

Purchased new by me in Nov.'05.
Tilt back wheels work well.
Handles on both sides as well as top and bottom make for a lot of hand-holds for load-in/load-out.

Sound Quality : 9
I have a custom 5 string, active electronics. My amp is a GK800RB.
I play mostly classic rock, rock etc...
This cab sounds awesome. I switched over from a 4x10(not Yorkie), and this thing kicks it's butt. I was a little leary of 8" speakers, but this cab has a tonne of low end. Pounds really well, yet stays nice and tight in the mids and upper frequencies. I actully rolled off my amp's eq to nearly flat.
Doesn't fart out at all on the low B, even at high volumes.

Reliability : 8
I can't see this letting me down before my back does.
Paint is already scraped off the sides and back from loading it in and out of my car, down stairs etc... I really am not too concerned about this as it is a large cab and I expected some issues with getting it in and out of the car. If it was carpeted, there would be no damage, but it would be covered by dog and cat fur.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Sent a few emails to them before I bought it with some questions, and they were very helpful and friendly.
I've heard they are great to deal with for any concerns or warranty issues, but I don't expect any.

Overall Rating : 9
I paid between $800-$850 for it. I can't remember and lost the receipt. Traded in my Hartke 410XL on it plus some cash.

I've been playing for over 20 years. I've used 15" cabs, 410's and a combination of the two. I was going to add a 2x10 to my 4x10 Hartke to get slightly warmer, less hi-fi sound. I changed my mind after playing the 8x8. It is a big cab though. Over 100 lbs. On flat ground, it's a breeze to manouever with the tilt-back design. I have figured out how to load in and out of the back seat of my car without too much trouble, but you really could use some help with stairs.
If it were stolen or lost, I would definitely buy another one. For that matter, if my amp was stable at 2 ohms, I'd buy another one and run 2 of them!
I also really like the fact that I was supporting a Canadian company.

I would not hesitate (and I have) to recommend this cabinet to other bass players. If you can handle the weight of a big cab (still smaller and lighter than a 8x10)and are looking for a cab with lots of low-end and tight mids and highs in the same cab, then look at these. The price is easy to take as well.

I bought the new Yorkville XC808 cab brand new. 800w program. Just started making the cab. I've been playing about 8 years. I play steady three times a week, and I play mostly rock. The cab sits about as high as a good sized 4x12 bass cab. Speakon and 1/4" inputs in the back with a adjustable horn level in the back. There is a horn built in. The amp has recessed handles that hurt your wrist a little. It has casters already built in so you can tilt the cab back to move it. Also this cab is over 100 lbs, so unless you're a big boy, better have a friend help lift it. Covered in the hard black stuff.

Sound Quality : 9
I play this cab with the matching Yorkville XS800H head. (800 watts RMS, 1200 watts burst). I play a cheap Fernandes 5 string J-bass that I put Bartolini pickups (18v)and an onboard pre-amp in. I don't ever have to turn the amp up past 4 and it is freakin' blasting. My pickups are really hot and I never have any trouble with the cab holding up to me blasting a low B. I get a NICE growl out of this cab. Very satisfied. When I have my amp jacked up, I don't get hardly any noise. The sound is always really clear even at high volumes and it is really punches hard with the 8" woofers.

Reliability : 10
This cab is built really solid. I have already pushed it hard and have had no problems at all. All Yorkville products come with a 2 year unconditional warranty, so that says something about the quality of their products. They know nothing is going to go wrong.

Customer Support : No Opinion
Haven't dealt with them yet.

Overall Rating : 10
This is a really great cab that I would recommend to anyone that wants an amp that puts out a lot of great sound that isn't on a huge budget. I chose this cab because it sounded great and had plenty of power handling capabilty. Just make sure you have help picking it up!

Made and introduced in 2004. 8x8 cabinet, 800W at 4 ohms. Never thought 8s could sound so good! Adjustable horn, speakon and 1/4" jacks. Tilt back wheels, handles on top and bottom for easier transportation.

Sound Quality : 10
umm...to be quite frank, this cab handles pretty well everything I throw at it. Haven't heard it distort once. It sounds fantastic, never farts out.

Reliability : 10
Really haven't had any problems with it whatsover in 6 months. I never bring anything else with me (couldn't if I wanted to, run out of room in the car!)

Customer Support : 10
Yorkville 2 year even if you break it warranty...nuff said! Well, that and the folks at Yorkville are extremely helpful and friendly...

Overall Rating : 9
Darn right I'd replace it (and the XS800H too!) if it got ripped off. The only thing I don't like about this cab is the weight, but the ability to roll it, and to have a second person help by grabbing a handle at the top or the bottom mitigates that quite a bit.
