Using it with a Gretsch G2202 and a Hofner beatle bass. Perfect match for these basses. Gives a lucious, warm tone with some versatility. Sounds like an Ampeg SVT and 4x10 cab. Love the tone. Can go from warm to thumpy, to syrupy smooth to edgy, but still controlled. Not a rock/metal monster, but very well suited for the music our band plays( Praise, Country, Western swing, 60's rock). Little bit of noise with volume maxed out and treble maxed. But, who would play it like that anyway? Can't get it to distort and wouldn't want to. Just good clean tone and volume that belies the fact it is only pumping 50W.

Yorkville/Traynor has a good reputation for reliablity. I have gigged it without a backup and will continue to do so, until it breaks. I'll let you know when that happens. Been playing it a year already.

Been playing Bass 3 years now. Guitar, mandolin, and dulcimer for longer than that. My stuff is; Gretsch G2202 bass, Hofner(Icon) Violin bass, two mandos(Rogue, Morgan Monroe), one dulcimer(custom built), and a Fender GDP100 guitar.
I would buy another one of these amps in a heartbeat. It gets loud for small room gigs, and goes into the PA for big gigs and sounds great. I have a Roland cube 30 and a Fender Bassman 150, and this is the one I seem to take to gigs all the time now. I wish it had chorus and reverb like the Roland does(works really good on some Praise songs/Christmas songs), but that is just a wish. I love the amp the way it is. Kinda pricey for a 50 watt amp, but, I think, worth every penny.

Pretty basic setup. 50 watts into a single 10"(front ported). Volume, with active Bass/Mid/Treble. CD input. Headphone out, and balanced XLR out. It can get very loud for its size, allowing it to be used in a fairly wide range of situations. I use it mainly for rehearsals, but it sounds great for smaller jazz/blues gigs with both the upright and the electric. I would say it is a fairly versaitle little combo.

I play an older Hungarian upright as well as a custom made Precision when the situation calls for it. The XM50 sounds excellent with both instruments for rehearsals, and has enough volume to play Jazz gigs with the Double Bass. It gets really loud for its size, and doesn't distort even when pushed(the speaker starts to flutter at really high volumes). Warm and round sound. Not bright enough for slap, but perfect for holding down the low end.

I never leave home without it! I bring it to every gig as a backup, and sometimes as my amp of choice depending on the situation. I am completely confident in it.

I have been playing for several years now. Mostly Jazz casuals/swing with the occasional blues/funk gig. My main rig is an Acme Low B1 and an Acoustic Image Clarus(or a GK 400 RB if I need a little more "electric tone"). Compared to the Acme, the XM50 isn't quite as clear or deep sounding however it sits very well in the mix. A Hi-Fi setup doesn't necessarily sound hi-fi in the audience. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one.

Using it with a Fender resonator bass; also with my Gretsch hollow-body, as players used to do with Fender Bassman. It handles the lows and highs well, great for that thicker sound on (regular) electric. I'm planning on using a small effects pedal and having it as a small practice amp.

Yorkville has been around forever; it should be very dependable.

Yorkvilee has the best warranty in the business (2 year ANY problem, even if it's your fault, and up to five years regular)

Been playing guitar for 40 (gasp!) years; have had over 40 guitars, electric and acoustic. I currently own a Gretsch 5129, Ibanez hollow-body, Strat, Ovation Tangent, Carvin AE185 (my main guitar) and the Fender resonator bass, which has an incredibly short scale, only 27".
I'd get another of these if it were stolen, after all that's what insurance is for. Yorkville's products are so bulletproof you're getting good value for your money.

This amp sounds very good for anything up to a small, medium volume venue. Full sound with very usable tone stack. Good at warm, full tones. Very big sound for a 50 w 1x10. Good practise amp.

It is a very light, versatile amp. The catalogue says it is for professional onstage monitoring but I use it as a stand alone amp at churchs with up to 400 people. I don't put it through the PA as most churchs I play in have older PAs that have speakers that can't handle bass frequencies. My only criticism is that the 1x10 while efficient. is very directional so if you have the amp on the floor and stand 5 feet in front of it and turn up the level til it sounds good, the audience will hear it twice as loud. I've solved this by putting it on a chair and tilting it up to my head. This amp is plenty loud for a worship band playing with electric guitars and drums in a church up to 400 people. The only thing is it must be a moderate volume band.
