A new 400w combo with a single 15' speaker covered in black "carpet". Tube pre-amp, s.s power amp, line out, effects loop, compressor, front mute with a tuner out, 1/4 + speakon out, "blendable" tube drive, tube gain, 2 inputs (pass/act. bass) 5 band rotary tone shaping. Great selection of features, not too many, and not too few, just what a bass player needs.

PLaying 2 Fenders, 1 P with Fender Lace sensors, and I jazz Fender lace sensor installed as well, and a Geddy Lee jazz bass, playing mostly fingers, some pick. The music is classic metal, Black Sabbath, Motorhead, Nugent, AC/DC and some NY Dolls, Sex Pistols, Social Distortion etc etc you get the pic. The distortion is beautiful...you can dial in Lemmy's sound in seconds. I guess the sound would most closely resemble Cliff Burtons. No noise, no hum, just rock 'n roll.

Its a Yorkville, of course it's dependable. I think this amp will be staying with me for the long haul. Rock solid, and built to last...this is the Chevy trucks of bass amps. Playing every weekend or so, and I haven't looked back since. Actually thinking of getting rid of my Ampeg gear.

Great compnay, quick to respond. No repairs, probably never need 'em. 2 Year "even if you break it" Unlimited transferable warranty...that says it all right there. Best one in the business. They can do that because they have faith in their gear

I have been playing for 9 years, and have tried alot of amps. Was looking for a portable with power. $900 for a 400w portable? Who came come close to that? No-one that who. I tried G/K--couldn't keep up tone wise, Ampeg couldn't touch the price and power, Fender? they should stick to guitars and leave the amps to the pros. Peavy TNT sounded tinny, didn't have that "full" sound I was looking for. I would reccomend throwing a single 15 extension cab under it, it really makes a huge difference with a fuller sound, then you can really "feel it". Heavy, and handles aren't the best but they do work, and it's not I'm carrying this around every night. I am planning on geting another 15 combo with a 15 ext. to be used as well, hmm 4x15's...800w...now thats power!
