For a bass pedal, the Iron Cobra Power Glide (double-chain with accelerator cam) is fairly full-featured and can be adjusted in almost every way - beater angle, beater height, beater head angle, footboard height, spring tension, you name it. The heel plate is the only piece that isn't adjustable, which might be an issue for you guys with really big feet.
The cam is not replaceable, but if it were, I'd just spend all my time swapping them in and out trying to figure out which one I liked best, so I'm ok with that.

I can't imagine this pedal not holding up under even the roughest touring conditions. Keith Moon could probably break it, but that's Keith Moon, and he's dead anyway.

I don't know about dealing with the company, but Tama doesn't spend a whole lot on their website.
I bought this pedal used and got a good deal because it was broken - the beater holder had been snapped in half by overtightening. The seller had bought a new beater holder for it but didn't know how to put it on the pedal. It took me a couple of hours of searching and forum-surfing to find a link to a page with exploded diagrams of the pedals. I wasn't impressed.

I am not a professional or even serious drummer - I've taken on the task of learning how to play some basic drums on a loaner kit so that, next year, I can get my own e-kit to use for recording. This will be the only bass pedal I'll ever need. It has allowed me to improve at a much faster pace, because thanks to the smoothness of the action and the heavy-duty construction, I can use much more advanced right-foot techniques than I should be able to after two months of practice. This was an outstanding purchase - I can only imagine how much it would improve a real drummer's playing!
