A lot of pops and clicks... not a very reliable piece of hardware although it is very easy to connect instruments and microphones.
Power

It is USB powered and it really drains the PC causing power breakdowns.
Technical specs

The drivers are very bad, and they might cause compatibility issues.
Other

Many control features with a really low construction quality and low reliability.

You just cannot rely on this thing.
Sound breakups, glitches, pops and clicks, shut-downs and it may just stop working altogether.
Support is really dreadful because it is based on a forum that just does not give you the answers you need.
If you buy it and use it on a dally basis, be aware that some little time after the warranty has expired it will stop working.
I will not use any more line 6 products.

This thing is a great idea! It has 2 XLR mic inputs (gain knobs included), 2 line inputs, 1 stereo line input and an instrument input (this works great with both guitar and bass but also with keyboards. KB37 has also a stereo main output, S/PDIF output and headphones can also be plugged (with independent volume knob). I am a keyboard player and own lots of different keyboards and I do think that the cheap keyboard included by Line 6 is very usable! The Gearbox software is very, very, very useful and very fun to use - also for keyboards. I'm currently recording my Hohner Clavinet directly plugged to the instrument input and to Gearbox.
The 2 VU's are a great feature and don't worry about clipping - extra clip indicators are provided.
4 control knobs, 4 buttons, pitch-shifter and modulation wheel. 1 expression pedal input and 2 control pedals. (Yes, you can use this pedal inputs to control gearbox's effects such as wah and other stomp boxes)
Direct monitoring feature - play your guitar in real time.
I actually bought this thing because I really needed a portable recording machine. I needed something that would allow me to work in any place - and this thing fully satisfied my needs. Very versatile. The only aspect you could argue about is the plastic cover...
Connectivity

USB 2.0 - I had no problems with it, very easy to work with.

The preamps are cool, especially the guitar preamp, which is actually great. Don't expect Neve but they'll do the job.
It could have Midi I/O and this is the most important lack on this product. An extra headphone output would also be a great addition...
Power

Bus Powered! Yeah... No extra cables...
Phatom power switch is included and works fine with my Rode condenser microphones!

16 bit/24 bit recording. Sounds good, who cares?
ASIO drivers works great.
Direct Monitoring is a great feature!
Other
:

Gearbox and useless Ableton Live lite included!
Gearbox is actually all you really need to work with it!

If you need a portable solution this can be the right thing for you. It was designed for guitar players but keyboard players should take a look at it. I even use it to play live as a second keyboard to play synth parts or whatever... (=

It's a desktop Audio Interface which has 2 VU meters (for each speaker in stereo), 1 instrument input, 2 microphone inputs (with a turnable 48V phantom power), 2 line inputs, a stereo monitor in input, an input for the expression pedal and 2 for footswitches, 2 analog outputs, a digital output and an input for the headphones. It cointains clip indicators and a plenty other controllers (potmeters, some turn on/off knobs etc.) to make easier your setups in Gearbox too. To be honest, with this device you won't have too much problem if it comes to controll softwares or hardwares. It works as a dream. If you buy a DAW controller too for mixing, then everything is before your hands to work with. It's plastic, it would be better if it would be metal, but I think it's able to survive some touring, although I've never take the KB37 out and I think I never even will, since it's a device for HOME use. If you want something for the road this is not the best for you.

The preamp in this stuff is HUGE! Perfect quality, the one we expect from Line6. Turn on the Gearbox software, some tweaking and your guitar/bass/mic tone will be awesome! Within minutes. It's really killer! And you can save your presets of course. It has S/PDIF Digital Out, one instrument input (for guitar or bass), one headphone out with an independent volume control. You have an another independent volume control to change to volume of your speakers too. They are really great, you don't have too lean over your desk to turn up the volume. It has a built in 3 octave (you can switch between all the 7 octaves with the octaves selector buttons) midi keyboard too, so it's looks like a synthesizer. The keys are made of plastic and they don't have a hammer action, only aftertouch and velocity so if your are a pianist, or a serious keyboard player, this is not for you, but if you would love to use some keyboards in your music and an average synthesizer quality is good for you, then you won't have any problem with the midi keyboard of KB37. And don't forget: this is a an USB audio interface mainly for GUITAR AND BASS. Not a professional midi keyboard so think about the midi keyboard of this product as an extra add-on and nothing more. Anyway the keyboard has a mod and a pitch controller too, both works great! It would be great if the Gearbox controllers would be programmmable for Nuendo and for other programs, they would be great for mixing.

It's bus powered. It has a 48V phantom power for the mics as I mentioned before. Everything works great, I've never had problems with the powering of this stuff. Just install the softwares, connect the machine to your computer and that's all.

It has direct monitoring, which works really great! It's one of the most important thing in recording and other studio works so I'm glad it works great. It works with Line6 drivers. You don't have to mess around the stuff. Just run the Line6 Monkey software, it will find the updates for the drivers, download and install it. After that you are ready. It supports sample rates up to 48000 HZ and 24 bit. Bloody professional.

It can't operate without a computer, it was designed for computer use only. When you buy it, you got an Abelton Live studio program for it, the Gearbox software and all the necessary drivers. It don't comes with a lot of extra stuffs, but I really don't care about this. You will achive everything to make great music with this stuff if you buy it and this is the most important. Who cares if you got some extra softwares and accesories? Anyway I won't give high rating for this category, because it's not full of extra goods, but don't even mind this if you want to buy the KB37.

Line6 Toneport KB37 works well. It performed for me really great. I've never had any problems with it. I honestly recommend this for anybody who would love to make music and wants some keyboards in it. I would definitly buy a new one if it was destroyed or stolen. (can't even dare to think about those things) It would be great if it would have 2 instrument inputs and 2 headphone outputs. Nothing else I wish it had.

comes with gearbox, which had amp and cabinet modeling, pedal effects, etc.. also has different mic pre amp modeling. only bad thing is you have to pay extra 99 dollars to use these as plug ins. other wise you have to use them just to record with....i will give it a 6 because of that

in the real world this is a nice tool. I recently started playing guitar 7 months ago and i laid down some (very basic) demo tracks. It works very well, never cut off or let me down. Guitar and mic pre models are very good and you have a lot of control over the individual controls of each different model. you can use knobs on keyboard to control some features too. I bought this because I only have 2 usb ports, and needed a keyboard and recording interface in one, and have an extra hard drive in second port. I have recorded some vocals using the preamp model for the avalon 737 which i really own. Honestly it sound pretty decent. Of course its not going to sound like a $2300 mic pre but it has a good sound. The guitar models are very decent and having the full range to control them totally just like it was a physical amp is very nice....Ii love this thing. very good for songwriters and amateur musicians..A/D convertors sounds good too. dont think i will try to release a professional album from this(lol)but it really hold its own. i have yet to record and mix a full song using this to see how it stacks up in different playback mediums but you might can pull it off on regular music listeners. I would re-cut my vocals using my avalon but may be able to keep guitar tracks. This is a great buy and i dont think I will need anything else with my setup. I have this, logic 7.2, macbook, avalon 737, and an AT 4060 and behringer truth monitors.

KB37 was incompatible with BOTH my laptop and desktop. I had to find this out from the web...LINE 6 DOES NOT RETURN CALLS!!!!!
Go ahead, try to contact someone there, I DARE you! You will be wasting your time. The KB37 needs a specific chipset and OS to work, I sent it back immediately..had a very cheap feel anyway.
