Type and Construcion :
Diril's D series Cymbals are made for Rock and metal. This medium Crash is 16". Made from B20 bronze It has a tight lathing pattern. I wouldn't go so far as to say it's a true brilliant finish, But it has been hand buffed to a nice shine very good looking cymbal. I really like the bell on the Diril D series although their bright and cutting producing a classic rock sound they remain integrated into the overall sound of the Cymbal. Playing a combination of sticking patterns off the bell and main cymbal compliment each other quite nicely. The bell is bright the Cymbal darkish yet you can here cleary they are related. It's a combination that works well. All Dirils are hand made. hand cast, hammered , lathed, shaved and buffed. The hammer marks add a certain distinction and look to this Cymbal. The work of a Cymbalsmith is obvious. The hammer marks also add a visual appeal especially under stagelights were the light seems to get diffused in a certain way. A great looking Cymbal

Sound Quality : 10
Being Turkish in origin and all handmade these Cymbals are on the darkish side. They really do have a sound quality remenicent of that calssic K sound. Yet they retain a cartain uniqueness and not at all a K imitator. I think that sound is the By product of all top of the line handmade turkish B20 bronze Cymbals. The crash produces a classic hard rock sound. It can be explosive and loud. When struck with force hints of brightness shine through with a subtle underlying darkness to them. These are beautiful sounding Cymbals. Easily one of the best new brands on the market.

Reliability/Durability : 8
I've owned this cymbal for 2 months and play it everyday. I can hit it hard but being a medium weight the Cymbal has a cetain amount of flex to it enhancing it's abilities to absorb heavy hitting. These are clearly well made Cymbals and I don't see reliability or durability as an issue. As long as you know how to hit cymbals. You don;t play a thin 10" splash the same way you do a heavy 19" crash. Same rules apply here. If your looking to smash it every time you hit it cracks will develop

Customer Support : 10
This is a small company and a quick call to their headquartes got me speaking to Sutton Riggs president of Diril USA. He directed me to ssome Brick and mortar retailers and several online dealers 2 of which had some listed on Ebay. Which is were I wound up purchasing my Diril. The company www.cymbalsandsnares.com were equally helpful in helping me pick out a nice crash. There is something to be said for dealing with small companies. They still have the personal touch Both Dirilusa and Cymbals & Snares overall very good people to deal with.

Overall Rating : 10
My Overall rating of the Company and Cymbal is excellent. They are high end hand made quality turkish pies. The best part is the price they are considerablly cheaper than other turkish boutique manufactures. It was the only thing I was worried about they are so reasonably priced I was wondering if I was infact getting what they represented themselves as. AS soon as I saw it and played it I knew it was. I think Dirils are the Best profeessionally made and priced cymbal on the market today. In the high end / pro catagory these are the best cymbal value on the market. I have been playing on and off for 30yrs. I use a mapex pro-m series kit I use DW pedals the 5000 series double pedal and the 5000 series remote highhat. In addition to Diril's I also use Zildjian custom A's, Wuhan China's, splashes and a rock ride. I also use Sabian aax and AA crashes and HH and I have just recently added severar Meinl MB20 to my collection. I know my stuff. My next Cymbal is gonna be another Diril. Forthe price you simply can't beat them
