Type and Construcion
:
I have a set of 14" Rotocast hi-hats from the 1970's.
B2O alloy I suspect....hand hammered with lathing marks.
These are heavy, there is a lot of metal around the bell.
Sound Quality

Fantastic sound!
A cutting chick and a really, really good controlled sound when used semi-open.
Great for jazz as they sound really good with a brush.
Loads of varieties of sounds when using a stick, depending on the stick placement

They look like you couldn't crack them with a neutron bomb!!

Untested for support but the company is not a big self promoter.

I discovered Ufip's about 6 months ago and have been an avid searcher for them on the second hand market.
The company has been using the rotocasting technique for a long, long time and claims a more even settling of the cast metal and greater sound quality because of this.
They are a real deiscovery and make a superb alternative to the 3 or so usual and fairly boring makers.
I like them very much!!
