This is a cheap Chinese-made cymbal. I can't remember what I paid for it, but it wasn't very much. It's thin. I am fairly new to drumming (about two years) and before I bought this I really did not know what a splash was, except that it was supposed to make a sound like a splash.
Sound Quality

It sounds just like a splash. But the more I use it, the more I use it. It has a rather fast decay, so it plays to role of an accent very well. I am surprised how well it cuts through. It also works very well in conjunction with my 16" Sabian AA crash or my Zildjian 14" A Custom crash. When hit together I get a very full sound that covers a wide sound spectrum.

I don't thrash this thing, but I do hit it quite hard at times. But it does not need to be hit hard to be heard.

Unlike other cymbals in the S Series (I had the ride - ugh), I rate this as a 10 for price, durability and sound. However, I really need to hear another brand of splash sometime in order to make a comparison. I would buy another if I lost this one.
