Surprisingly good tone(for a beginner set). I originally bought them to save up for a Pearl but ended up recording an E.P. with them. I changed the Pinstripes to Vintage Ambassadors and WOW it opened up a whole world of tuning possibilities. These have good range and depending on the type of batter and resonator skins your using, there really is no limit. Personally, i tuned them really low (think Johnny Kelly from Type O Negative.)
Reliability/Durability

I gigged with these for about 3-4 months with no problems. Always stayed in tune but that could be because i'd sit down before a show and check them.

I've have been playing for 10 years now and overall i think this is a really good set for the price. I'd recommend this to beginner and intermediate players. If it were lost or stolen it really wouldn't matter because i got my Pearl.
