I have the white onyx finish 7 piece 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 22 bass drum and 14x6.5 matching snare. I have it all rack mounted. The kit came with 800 series hardware. The stands are solid, the hi-hat and bass drum pedal are throw away's, but a 9 for intro drumming hardware!

Excellent sound, tons of warmth, everything you would expect out of a maple drum! Stock heads are not bad, but put a set of Remo Pinstrip batter heads and Emperor heads on the bottom and you have a world class drum. Absolutely no tape on any drum and they sound like a million bucks!!!

Very comfortable kit in and out. The wrap on the drum is very clean and stunning. This is coming from a guy who loves lacquer finished drums! I am a rim shot guy so tuning is no different then any other drum I played. Investing in tuning locks will stop this. They are very easy to tune and have a wide range of sounds. The S.M.S. mounting hardware by far is the nicest looking, most solid hardware I have used!

I got to tell you I have owned many kits through my 27 years of on and off playing and this kit CANNOT be beat for the money. I found these used in mint condition and I paid 1/2 of what I paid for my Premier XPK kit new! The sound is amazing and I would strongly recommend sitting behind a set and playing them. For all the name brand whore's out there who don't believe it I challange you to put your $4,000 kit next to these, close your eyes and tell me if you can hear the difference (take it from someone who has played a set of $6,000 DW's)!!!! I view myself as a brand loyal Premier guy, but congrats to PDP for swaying me, cheers!!!!

Maple shells, 5-piece, fusion sized toms, RIM-type mounts for all toms, white onyx wrap (very attractive!) I still have the stock heads on them, but I'm preparing to experiment with some others. The 10" and 12" toms mount on the bass, and the 14" tom mounts on a cymbal stand -- big tone improvement over traditional floor toms.

Good attack with a warm, bull tone. Good balance with classic maple tone. I have mine tuned middle of the road, and they sound very good. The bass has a great thump. The only weak spot is the snare, but perhaps it can be improved with different heads.

The wrap appears to be on very good. Stays tuned reasonably well. Smallest tom tends to need a tweak after playing a couple hours. The ball adjustments on the tom mounts are both versatile and solid. I can put the 2 ride toms very close together without any danger of them knocking together while I play. I haven't gigged with it yet, but I am planning to.

I have been playing for most of 30 years now. I was primarily playing a Roland electronic kit for home practice (volume control!) and miscellaneous other kits playing with church bands. I led the purchase of a Pacific LX kit for a church and played on it every week for a couple years, which is how I knew Pacific drums are good. This CX kit sounds even better than that one did and has better hardware. As an engineer I hate to admit it, but it really, really looks good too. I'm just glad the sound matches the looks!

Lots of attack and great sound for so cheap drums. Warm tone with the ambassador heads, mid tone.

Now I'm playing rock so I try to kill the overtones.

Can tune the drums from mid to high pitched, not so super good in the low but very good mid tone.

Good at gigging. Had a few gigs with it and sounds good live.
Wrap is good, no bad edges or anything.
Need some tuning, but nothing more than drums else.
When right tuned it has a good consistent tone.

Hardware is not as good as hoped. After a year some of the stands began to get loose and stuff. Not so good.

Sent a mail and got answerer the same day.

Good sound, if tuned right. Been playing for then years and this is the kit I use.
If it were stolen I think I would but the new PDP Platinum series in bugger sizes, 24, 13, 14, 16" and 14" snare or a vintage drum set as Ludwig, Slingerland, Gretsch or something.

The Pacific CX is an great sounding kit. Tuned correctly and with the right heads it can compete with kits costing twice as much. You can expect the brighter attack of a maple kit with the CX series drums. An upgrade from the stock heads is recommended to unleash the potential of these drums. The early versions were made in Mexico and later in China. In my experience the Mexican versions seem to have better overall build quality and a lack of bearing edge issues. Newer Chinese kits can be inconsistent. I have experienced out of round drums and poorly done bearing edges as well as loose hardware on Chinese kits. Not all Chinese kits have these issues, but be aware of what you are buying and inspect all the drums thoroughly before purchasing them. My only real complaint is the stock snare drum. It is mediocre at best, however so are most snare drums included with a kit in this price range.

The cosmetics of these drums are good. The wrap is applied clean. The lugs, inserts and tension rods are good quality. There are no tuning issues with these drums as long as they left the factory with good bearing edges. The hardware is fine for moderate gigging. The tom mount is solid and so are any included cymbal stands. The bass drum legs are well designed and hold up to any abuse. The isolation tom mounts are excellent quality.

No problem here as they are very common and available at most major musical instrument retailers.

Overall the CX is an excellent value. I have been playing drums for over 20 years and wish sets like this were available at this price when I started out. I own a CX as my primary home playing kit but have gigged with it on occasion with a pearl rack setup. With a set of Evans heads it sounds like a much more expensive kit then what it is.
