Metropolitan Trickster, Keller Maple shells wrapped in White Marine Pearl. Gauger suspension mounts for main drum and side drums/snare. Bass drum pedal mount and ludwig pedal. The kit came with Evans heads and the stock Pearl heads on the 12" snare.

Sound Quality : 8
The kit tunes well with a fair range, especially the side toms. The 14"x24" main drum is hard to tune but it can be done with the heads provided. I didn't like the sound of the Evans hydralic head on the batter side. I replaced all the heads with Aquarian Modern Vintage heads to produce the sound that I wanted.

Reliability/Durability : 8
After Metropolitan Drum Co. shipped me a kit that was not even close to what I ordered and damaged as well. I finally received the correct kit after about 4 months. The second kit was well built and just what I asked for.

Customer Support : 1
Metropolitan Drum Companies customer service is bad at best. The owner seems overwhelmed and constantly made excuses for the length of time it took to get the correct kit. I won't be doing business with them again.

Overall Rating : 4
I have to say that when I finally received the kit I ordered it was nicely done. But the customer service was lousy. I play the kit daily, gig with it and enjoy it. But I would not buy from Metropolitan Drum Company again...

I purchased a Trickster from Metropolitan, Custom ordered and I Love It! Despite one critism - I found the drums to tune up easily if you know what your doing, and the kick drum has a great sound using the Evans Head on the drum. I ordered this drum in Red Sparkle and the finish is stunning, with a 12x5 OEM pearl snare, it fits the kit well and it's rock solid mounting

Sound Quality : 10
These drums being Maple with the custom 45 degree inward bearing edge have great attack, while none of the ringy tone typically associated with Maple drums. The 8"rack tom is sweet - big tuning range.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I would gig this kit anytime, anywhere, fits into my backseat of
a honda! solid construction and the hardware is pro-gigging quality.

Customer Support : 9
Didn't have any problems, the Owner sent me pictures of the kit in process and although it took about 8 weeks to get, for a custom built kit that was fine

Overall Rating : 9
I'd buy this kit again in a heartbeat, it's opened up more gig opportunities for me

I purchased the Trickster in Antique Pearl with the gibraltar aux hat.

Sound Quality : No Opinion

Reliability/Durability : 2
The wrap is not clean. On some drums the wrap overlaps. On others it doesn't match up. I've also had trouble getting them evenly tuned. This is NOT what you expect when you buy custom ANYTHING.

Customer Support : 1
Metropolitan drums said it would take six weeks to build the drum. It actually took over twelve weeks to receive the drums. When the drums finally arrived they were missing the bracket to hold the kick drum in place and the aux hat. It has been over three weeks since I reported this incident and I still do not have the missing. Everytime I have received word back from Matthew at Metropolitan Drums, I get a new excuse as to when he has not completed what he was supposed to have completed.

Overall Rating : 1
Metropolitan Drums is an inconsistent and unreliable company. Don't bother buying anything from them. You would be better off building your cocktail drum kit yourself.

I purchased a Metropolitan Trickster and selected a racing stripe finish, I recieved the drums set and it blew me away. Maple Shelled
Beauty! 16x24 kick / floor tom combo, 10x8 rack tom ( custom order the size, and no upcharge ! ) and a 12x5 metal snare ( an additional 50 bucks, instead of the 10x5 ) Evans heads and really sturdy hardware - I love this kit and so do my bandmates!

Sound Quality : 10
These drums are loud! the kick drum side of the cocktail rivals my 20" bass drum, and for portability, it cannot be beat. Nice thump to the kick drum. The 10 " rack tom is a thing of beauty - huge tuning range - sounds like a 12 or 13 when tuned low, and I can crank it up to sound like a timbale

Reliability/Durability : 10
I can pick this entire kit up in two hands and walk it on and off the stage... 'nuff said. Pro level hardware, 4 legs give it a really stable and rock solid feel. I get kudos all the time from other drummers when we split a gig.

Customer Support : 10
The owner of the company worked with me every step of the way, sent me photos from the shop as the drumset progressed - very attentive and kept me up to date. He told me that they offer a 100% money back guarantee if I wasn't happy with the kit, I'd never sell these beauties!

Overall Rating : 10
I cannot say enough about this kit. I made the plunge into the world of cocktail drumming, after getting tired of hauling my DWs around - this kit fits into the backseat of my car - complete!
It takes 5 minutes max to set up at a gig. I play seated for about 75% of the time, and when the mood strikes, I stand up and play.
Fantastic Kit - top quality performance and craftsmanship.

Purchased a Metropolitan Hipster Cocktail Kit, awesome drum
sounds huge, great kick sound from a 14" x 24" drum.

Sound Quality : 10
Nice warm sound with Evans Heads that came standard

Reliability/Durability : 10
Ordered in White Marine Pearl, stunning.
Stable with four heavy duty legs

Easiest drum I have ever gigged with !

Customer Support : 9
Took about 8 weeks to get, was quoted 6. But compared to other custom builders, who said 12 to 20 weeks I thought it wan't bad.

Overall Rating : 10
I love this kit, it lived up to all my expectations
and I would order another one in a heartbeat.

This is a Great little kit! Maple Keller 10 ply shell on the main cocktail drum, it arrived in a beautiful Ginger Ale Glass Glitter.
The setup included a 8 x 6 rack tom with a sweet sound from such a little drum! A 10 x 5 Chrome snare and a unique right side 8 x 12 "hanging tom" - a kick pedal and bracket, and a couple cymbal mounting posts that I added two boom stands to. Evans heads came standard, and it's got four legs that really made the set ( which takes up 2 x 3 feet! ) sturdy and balanced.

Sound Quality : 10
The drums sound like a full four piece drum set, a 14x24 main drum, the bottom serves as the kick drum, and the top is the floor tom. with a rack and a snare it's a full four piece kit. I played it mic'd up and the kick was incredible - noone could tell it wasnt a full size drum kit. The bearing edges are key, according to the builder, 45 degree beveled inward. Warm and punch, without the high ring maple drums usually have.

Reliability/Durability : 10
I play this Cocktail kit standing up, and I grab a bar stool to sit on some tunes, the drums are so close to each other, fills are really fast and fun to play. the hardware ( 2.3mm superhoops, Maple Keller shells ) are all pro level and match anything I have tonewise with my other kits.

Customer Support : 10
It took about 6 weeks to get my kit I custom ordered, not bad considering the price and it's completelyt built for me by Metropolitan. Worked with me throught the process.

Overall Rating : 10
I have several kits, and play out 2 times a week, and needed a small gigging kit for a trio I play with. I am set up in ten minutes max and I can carry the kit in two hands. Incredibly portable, and sounds great. I would by one again in a heartbeat!
