This drum set is all I could as for... The ISS tom mounting is pretty damn good though it looks like it's gonna fall apart any second all the time. But no, sturdy as heck. I think it's poplar shell or some other 'cheaper kind'. But that doesn't matter, the drums sound dreamy to me still. It's sizes 12",13",16", 22"x22"bass and 14x5.5 snare. Also a 10" standard Export tom, secondhand. That one has a better arm than the ones that came with the set, it does not lock into set places, it can be positioned at any exact angle. Costs about double as much though.
I love the cymbal stands I got along with this. I thought the old stands I kept from my previous set were good. I was wrong. The stands I got with the set are incredibly strong, durable and nice and weighty in the double-braced legs so they don't fall over easily. They don't hop across the room when I play my cymbals either, which I appreciate.
The Export series was one of the primary reasons I got this set, but then the color was what completely sold me... I have the best-looking drum set in the world, an undisputable fact. Strata red, if I remember right. I got it with Remo Pinstripe skins on the toms, which are good. I might have preferred the dryer sound of Ambassadors, but my wallet insists that I keep the Pinstripes.
The one thing that disturbs me is that the P120p pedal that came with the set includes some small parts required to add another pedal, thus making a double pedal. Commercialism at work... But the pedal is amongst what I have used (many standard types) probably the best one because the beater takes only a couple of seconds to adjust to any angle, and I have found this same model in clubs, studios and even at school. Very nice. Doesn't lose spring tension either.
The only one I would consider superior is the king, the Iron Cobra.

I love to attack these drums. If I misuse them, they gratefully accept and take part in wreaking havoc. The base drum sounds like a monster, and the whole set in general sounds like a mighty beast. The shell painting contributes to a fiery look and sound. I have tried several different tunings, but I have two favorites on these drums; tight, high tuning that shoots back the stick in my face, or dark and heavy grungy sound.

I'd love to take this kit to a gig. It's just perfect... probably designed with intent to be used as a gig-set.
I don't tune them often, maybe once a month or two. Their tones are mostly in enough balance to be played even after 3 months without tuning.

No problems, I doubt there will ever be any. The store I bought the set from has helped me with my guitar when I have had troubles, free of charge if simple enough (rare these days), so still a good grade here.

I've played 3,5 years, this kit is in my opinion very competitive against the other drum set I play most, a Tama Rockstar. This set wins there, because of far superior hardware. And it's great look.
If it were stolen I would wonder how someone stole a whole drum set without difficulty. Then I would go look for the thieves. After not finding them, I would go depressed and have a funeral service for the set. Or perhaps I would just buy a new set after getting lucky on the lotto.
