A lot of attack, depending upon the heads. I've used everything from Remo Emperors to Evans EC2s.
I've found the overall tone to be warm, with not a lot of lows on the larger toms. Overtones have been usually mild and manageable.
Tuning range on my toms (8,10,12,15) tends to be fairly narrow, but the range also seems to be dependent on what heads are being used.

I have gigged with this kit many times.
I've never perform with it in direct sunlight and always have cleaned it thoroughly after smoky gigs.
Investment in hard cases is a must for a laquered kit.
The Pearl's seem to hold their tuning remarkably well maintaining a consistent tone in many different conditions.

Have not ever needed any support from Pearl, but I've always been impressed with the lever of support I see others recieve and through their drummers on-line forum

Overall, this kit as never let me down, and it looks and sounds just as good now as it did in 2002 when I purchased it.
My very first kit was a set of Pearls in 1969. Back then, they were almost imitation drums and not the quality musical instrument they are today.
I've been playing drums since 1969 and have own many kits over the years. This is one of the nicest and favorites that I have every owned.
I also own several synths (Moogs, Yamaha and Kurtz) and an electronic TD-12 VDrum kit.
If you have a chance to grab a good used set of these, don't hesitate. They are an excellent value.
