Features : 9
ddrum 100% ash shells w/ double 45 degree edges, lacquered finish & black chrome hdw.5 piece 20x20" virgin bass,7x13" snare,8x12" tom & 12x14" & 12x16" floor tom w/ legs.the sizes are pretty versatile & the toms & snare drum come w/ cast rims.the hardtail burst lacquer finish is sweet.the heads are china made remo clear ambassador style tops & no name bottoms.the kit comes w/ all floor tom legs & a cymbal stand mount for the 12" tom.

Sound Quality : 8
the sound is quite good.the ash plays & tunes more like a birch kit than a maple kit.they have total attack w/ fat low end.the sound is bright & cutting w/ dark tones.overtones are diminished like a birch kit.the tuning range is bigger than birch.they also favor a higher bottom head tuning like birch drums.i tuned the bottom heads almost two times higher than the tops.i was able to tune the top heads almost completely loose & still got a nice & fat tone.the ash shells have a larger tuning range than birch & maple drums.the drums heads arent the greatest.i put the top heads on the bottom & new emperors on the top & voila.

Reliability/Durability : 9
i would totally gig w/ this kit (thats why i bought it).the lacquer seems hard enough to withstand a small hit.they seem quite durable & are pretty heavy drums.the bass drum has some weight to it.

Customer Support : No Opinion

i havent played this set w/ a band yet but it seems like it would cut through w/ some presence.ive owned some crazy custom drum gear.my other kit right now is a solid mahogany stave kit in bonham sizes.i like all features of this kit.the hdw plating & edges arent the greatest.if you had the edges recut by reptutable drum maker than these drums would be totally killer!!the hardtail burst finish is nothing short of stunning.the transparent ash grain beneath the finish is killer!!
i switch up drums alot so i probably would not buy this kit again.i would however try other ddrum lines of acoustic drums.maybe a maple diode kit w/ a 26" bass drum.
