this an overdrive / distortion pedal, 2 knobs 'volume' and 'gain'. that's all. the thing with the pedal is that it adds some bite to the sound which make lead some people to draw back the high frequencies on their amp. others will be delighted with the attack these presences bring, but there may be some tweaking.

this is a nasty dirtbag, not for the weakhearted, but not because of high gain distortion. the overall character is really edgy.
first of all, the pedal has huge volume to offer and works good as a boost. on some souped-up amps, one should be cautious not driving it into over-squeezin'.
the pedal always sound a bit like these knifey ac-dc sounds from the late 70s without trying to be a plexi-clone. the main thing about it is that every time i plugged the rml in, i found the gain it produces not sufficient, but always continued to play on, arriving in saturation heaven a few minutes later. the pedal is tremendously dynamic and there is something delicate to it although it ain't placed on the hi-fi sode of things. the sound feels a bit compressed, but it ain't!
in addition, it offers a great clean-up!
i think that in front of a distorted amp already oozing with distortion, the red morning light does better with breakin' up amps.

it's a prototype and it came in a uncolored small hammond box. darius pohl offered me to work it through in case there should be technical problems. it looks well built.

darius pohl is one of the best tweakers around. his works stands out among many boutiqueers. and he is always willing to optimize things. i think that beside the directions i mentioned, it might serve the needs of some americana players as well, maybe even some country guitarists. he has no homepage yet, but you can mail him at MastermindDP@web.de
