Its like a normal eq but programmable. Everything is right infront of you. If you want to edit channel A, then you press EDIT and A will light up and you edit, if you want to edit channel B, then you press EDIT twice and B will light up and you can pick a frequency and then press up or down to change it. Then you click save. The back panel is obvious and very simple. 2 inputs, 2 outputs, Midi in, through, out.

Sound Quality : 10
I think its one of the best Eqs I have every used. It goes along with the MP-1 very very well. I can get loads of different sounds from Tight Heavy Metal sounds to Crunchy ODs, to Sparkle cleans.

My MP-1 sounds like a tight Marshall.

I have the following setup:
ADA MP-1
ADA MQ-1
BBE 322
Digitech DSP128 Plus

It works great with that setup. I even tried it with my Home setup (Boss MT-2 and Roland Combo) and it sounds great too.

I like the gain/volume setting on it. My system is quiet due to that. Never had problems with feedback or anything like that after I got the MQ-1.

Reliability : 9
I can rely on it at a gig. I wouldnt mind getting a 2nd one for back. The thing I like about it is that you can program both channels that same thing, So if channel 1 input broke, I can use channel B input/output and still have the same sound.

Never Delt with ADA. But there is www.adadepot.com for any support needed regarding ADA products.

The MQ-1 is just like the MP-1, for the money its great. If you can get your hands on one, then definitly get it. You wont be dissapointed, specially if you use midi and racks.

As I mentioned above, if I can get my self a 2nd one, I'll definitly get it and put it in my Rack for backup.

It's pretty straight forward piece just like the MP-1.

The only thing I don't like is if I want to flatten the eq, you have to press the individual frequency button once and then the arrow up and down sometimes a pain. To get around this, I have blank patch with a flat setting and I just copy that over, which is much easier.

I don't have a manual for this one but anyone with half a brain could figure it out.

My Guitar goes into a ADA MP-1 then to the MQ-1 , into a ALESIS MIDIVERB, into an AHEX EXCITER and finally into a ROCKTRON VELOCITY 120 (excellent amp ) powering two ADA 2x12 cabs with CELESTION 50w speakers. Thats it, pretty simple.

It sounds good for the price, since it has100 midi user programmable presets, it works great with something like a MP-1, to extend and flex / tweak each tone. It's 2 channel, could be used as LEFT or Right, or the way I use it is : signal in and out of channel A, back into channel B, for an added increase in decibel range to a frequency, like the 4k frequency which I like for guitar. I don't mess around with the bass frequencies too much.

With my setup , I can tweak it to get a lot of sound , like Boogie, Marshall clean fender, etc... people cant believe the tone I get all for under a grand. Cant beat .

Reliability : 10
Had it for 6moths, I play every day at least, no problem

I like versatility, with this piece, I can get different sounds very easily.

Unfortunately, I don't see any of these around.

I know Kirk Hamett of Matalica used one at one time, but since ADA burnt down, these are hard to find

if it were stolen, I'd have a hard time finding another I think.
