very easy. the pots does what they say

Sound Quality : 3
It would be very good, if not for a terrible hiss.
I have tried everything possible, even a noise gate,
and it substatially still hiss singifivatly.
combined witha distortion is unbarable. I am using
a fender jag + a fender vibrosonic reverb on the clean
channel. either combined withe MXR dist + or a simble
boss/roland overdrive, it was so noisy to be useless.
this is a shame because the tone of the tremole seems
nice (when you can hear it).

Reliability : 3
never used of the problem mentioned above

Because of the very loud hissing is substatially not usable,
unless one whats to use a tremolo effect ona white noise
generator. If you can live with THAT amout of background, it
appear very versatile in tones and depth of the modulation.

Plug it in and hit it with your foot ! It flanges . It's got 4 knobs set out in a pyramid at the top of the unit - DEPTH , RATE , MANUAL & RES (RESOLUTION?)

Sound Quality : 8
It sounds superb , but , really LOUD ! It gives you the kind of volume boost you'd just about be able to live with . In the loop it's no different but my amp has no loop level adjustment so I use it in line . The actual flange sound is really good with the 4 controls giving you a good mix of effects . Great for gothic rock type vibe and really nice used in the clean channel with all the settings fairly low . Gives lovely atmosphere to a really dry sound .

Reliability : 7
It hates long leads in the input ! I don't know why . It just does . 20 foot lead - no way , 10 foot lead - ok !! So stick it in the middle or front of your chain and its a goer . I gig with it 3 times a month on average and it does its job perfectly , although loudly as explained earlier . Battery life I would say is average (maybe 7 gigs per battery)

I play rock/punk/goth covers and it fits my sound perfectly , overdriven and clean . It's not a Boss but its half the price . Personally I find the Boss flanger a touch too subtle but the volume hike means you often have to back the guitar volume off a touch when you kick it in - is that such a task ? The AXL flanger is like a lot of music gear , it has it's own little personality . Some players would love it , some would hate it . I bought it as a bit of a toy but it's become an integral part of my sound . If it were stolen I'd probably get a Boss but I'm really happy to have it in my kit box .

EXCELLENT!! for the price (about a third of the Boss trem) its great, gives me that niiice Martin Denny/Twin Peaks feel!

The only real quandry with the pedal is the tacky buttons, keep an eye on that and the pedal will serve you well

a good pedal for one seeking a decent 50's tremolo, i'm sure there are better units out there, but this does what it says on the box, nothing more nothing less!
