No problems in this department. Two black knobs and a switch for full range or treble boost.

Sound Quality : 10
I have only owned this pedal for a few weeks and I used it on a gig this past weekend. On this occasion I played my original 1964 Stratocaster into a Budda wah -> Boostmaster -> visual sound Jekyll and Hyde -> sweetsound mojo vibe -> maxon analog delay -> maxon stereo chorus -> 2 amps [fender super champ and peavey studio pro 112]. The Boostmaster makes my whole sound bigger and fuller without affecting the tone. By turning up the drive I can introduce just enough harmonic distortion to introduce a bit of grit. This sounded unbelievable while playing chords on Hendrix's Little Wing. I left the Boostmaster on much of the time. I've not tried the treble boost on a live gig. At home it sounded cool -- no ice pick quality.

Reliability : 9
This pedal looks very well built, inside and out. The hand wiring on the inside looks meticulous and the soldering looks great. I am giving it a nine only because I've own owned it for a short while.

Customer Support : No Opinion
I've not had to deal with the company.

Overall Rating : 10
I love this pedal and will keep it in my arsenal. I would never sell it. It is really well-made, looks great, and gives me a great sound and feel. It provides just the edge to my pick attack that I was looking for, and I own numerous other clean boosts [fulltone fat boost, carl martin hydra, and others]. But among them this one stands out for versatility and tone. I love the fact that the drive control provides some grit but the underlying tone of the guitar remains unmolested. It just seems to give me a larger and fuller tone without adding noise. I've never played a Klon but cannot imagine how it can provide a more pleasing boost than this pedal.

Over 2 years later and I have found a couple "new" ways to exploit the subtle yet enhancing qualites of this wonderful box. Lately I have been using the Boostmaster by turning the drive nearly full counter clockwise. I then use a mirror image setting on the output knob, or full clockwise. This pushes the just-breaking-up-tone of my 6V6 plexi clone into brownsville. Tremendous for blusey/rootsy or rock stuff. Running this into a boost or my Tim yields fat thick and detailed overdrive true to both my guitar amd amp.

I'm loving this box and respecting H.L. Wilson's work even more so now.

Reliability : 10
Over two years and 300 gigs later the Boostmaster keeps on truckin'.

Customer Support : 10
In my experience, H.L. knows how to keep customers happy.

Durability and quality in heaps combined with great tone is what it's all about.

Simple operation. Two knobs an a range toggle switch. No manual included or needed.

50's reissue strat w/ custom shop fat 50's pickups/George L cables/Addrock Boostmaster/Barber Tone Press/Addrock Ol Yeller/Electro Harmonix Clone Theory/Boss DD-20 Giga Delay into an early 70's Fender Twin.Very quiet pedal and it is true bypass.Makes all effects sound better.I like the treble boost with the Twin because that amp has gobs of bottom end and can use some help on the top.Through my Marshall I use the Full Boost setting to add bottom end.I keep the drive setting pretty low usually but when turned up it gets a surprisingly musical dirty rythym that I have never heard from other effects before. This sound is one that I have tried to obtain with overdrive effects and not found it.So you have 2 effects in one box,Clean boost and dirty rythym that both sound fantastic. This is a pedal that once turned on,you will not want to turn it off.I recommend the use of carbon batteries only with this unit for best sound.

Reliability : 10
Only had it a couple of weeks.I do however own 3 other Addrock pedals, one which is over 5 years old and the other 2 are 3 to 4 years old and had no problems.Very dependable units.

Customer Support : 9
Owner/pedal builder H.L.Wilson still builds em one at a time.He is friendly and helpful and makes a great product.

Overall Rating : 9
I play Eric Johnson,Eric Clapton,Allman Brothers,SRV,Mark Knoffler, etc.and have played for 21 years.I would replace this pedal with the same if lost or stolen and I will probably buy another just so I can use one for clean boost and the other for dirty rythym(I hate changing my pedal settings back and forth). I Compared this to a Seymour Duncan Pickup booster and they both performed well in the clean boost category but the boostmaster kicks it into hi-gear with the dirty rythym tone so survey says sorry seymour!

Ease of Use : 10
Two knobs and a mini-toggle. It doesn't get much simpler. It is equally as simple to get excellent tone. Plug in, turn on, and find that sound your looking for. It's in there!

Sound Quality : 10
This is the first pedal to make me understand what transparency of sound is all about. I use it in "full range" with the output knob at 9 o'clock and the drive knob at 2 o'clock. The "treble range" side of the mini-toggle is a significant shift in tone to the brighter and thinner side. Think Vox. It's cool, but its not my sound. The "full range" sound is simply fatter, rounder, and to my ear kind of "enhanced"!My equip is: Fender Nasville Tele(heavily tweeked) and an Anderson Hollow Drop Top Classic(stellar guitar!)into 1)boss cs-3 2)fulltone fulldrive2 with the mini-toggle 3)addrock boostmaster 4)line 6 mm4 5)line 6 dl4 into input of Fender Hot Rod Deville 4x10, and an Ernie Ball volume pedal in the amp's preamp out/power amp in loop. I only use the "clean" channel on the amp. Playing clean or dirty, when you kick the Boostmaster on with my settings, the sound fattens up nicely, and it puts a "little hair" on it. To my ear this thing just seems to boost the right frequencies, because the sound cuts better in a very smooth and articulate way. It takes your best sound and makes it better! What more do you want?

Reliability : 10
The pedal is well built, as it should be in this price range. The mini-toggle switch broke for no apparent reason, and was repaired the same day by H.L. I've had it for about 8 months, and gig with it just about every weekend, and have not been let down. It is an essential part of my sound and would not hesitate to replace it if the need arose.

Customer Support : 10
As mentioned above, got very prompt repair service. I've had nothing but positive experiences with H.L. and the gang at Alpha Music over the last several years.

Overall Rating : 10
This is simple, versatile pedal that sounds Heavenly! It's that good! If your in the market for a boost type pedal, this is it!

Ease of Use : 10
Well, if you need a manual for this pedal, you should not be allowed out in the street without supervision... very easy to use, two knobs, one for output, the other one for drive. It also has a toggle switch to go from full range to treble boost only. Has an 9V battery inside, and can also be used with an external power supply. Nice bright LED that tells you if it is on or off. This is a TRUE bypass pedal.

Sound Quality : 10
I am a minimalist when it comes to setups, so it is normally guitar>pedal>amp. Rare to use anything else. This pedal ends my search for a TRANSPARENT overdrive. This pedal delivers just that: boost in spades, no coloration of your sound or guitar. It absolutely kicks butt when you step on it, will push you amp into sweet, fat overdrive. The treble boost setting is also wonderful, and eliminates the need for a second pedal. My amps, a Vox AC15TBX, Two Rock Custom, and Mojoave Plexi 45 absolutely sing when pushed. Man, you step on that Boostmaster, and the harmonics just jump out of your guitar, back off the guitar's volume, and you get clean tone again. The touch sensitivity is just phenomenal. The other great thing is that ther is no piercing highs, the tone is very balanced and natural sounding. Don't get me wrong, I love the sound of a Tubescreamer with an 808 mod, but if I want that, then I plug into that pedal. 95% of the time, I just want boost. My Suhr strat and 57' RI Les Paul w/Burstbuckers just sound exactly like the sound I hear in my head. I am very pleased with this pedal, it is exactly what I wanted.

Reliability : No Opinion
It looks very well built, and yes, I looked inside. I see very good quality in the execution. This thing should be as durable as any Boss or other stompbox. I guess I need to have it for years to rate it here, so I will let you know in a few years. Meanwhile, people whould know this box exists.

Customer Support : 10
I was very pleased with the customer support/service. A good tone brother -Greg Weber from Mojave recommended this pedal to me- and I spoke to the owner/maker of these pedals, HL Wilson, from Alpha Music in VA. Only 4 places sell these pedals, so there is a very good chance you have spoken to HL if you own one, since he builds them one at a time. I am a gear enthusiast, so I want to get information on my stuff, particularly if I like it. HL gets his germanium transistors pre-sorted, then he listens to each one of them in a test rig -yes, each one of them- and then tweaks EACH pedal to balance well the rest of the circuitry. So each pedal is a bit different form the next, but they all sound great. It is one of the nuances of working with old germanium transistors, but boy do they sound good! No big name outfit would go through these troubles to ensure tone, but it is good someone is doing it. I think getting one of these pedals was the wisest purchase I have made in a very long time. HL was knowledgeable and very helpful, he honestly cares about good ol' customer service, and it shows.

Overall Rating : 10
This pedal was a little pricey, but worth every penny. How many times do you get a piece of gear that ends up in a storage pile in a closet? This box is always in my setup. It does not suck any tone when not in use, and does its agic when I step on it. I also own an Addrock Germanium Fuzz and I love it too. I play classic rock and blues, and this pedal is a perfect complement to my rig. Very useful, no frills practical and wonderful TONE. Bottom line: I would buy it in a heartbeat if I needed another one.

Very easy. As with all Addrock FX, the controls are intuitive and the pedal sounds great as soon as you plug in.

Sound Quality : 10
I use teles and strats and occasionally pull out the Guild Bluesbird. My amp of choice is a Dr Z Rt.'66. I use George L's. This pedal is dead quiet in either the full-range or the treble-boost mode. It sounds perfect with all my FX. Nearly transparent and lets MY tone cut through. It loves fuzz(as do I!). I use the Boostmaster to fatten up whatever tone I'm playing with. Top notch boost with sustain, detail and amazing dynamics. What's not to love? The Boostmaster is based on the Dallas-Arbiter RangeMaster(treble-boost side)as used by Iommi, Brian May and Clapton and it doesn't dissapoint. It sounds so cool with my Guild(loves to make Humbuckers sing!)

Reliability : 10
Seems dependable. I own an Addrock Electric Smile(see review) and a Geranium Fuzz (see review) and they perform excellently under stage use. HL Wilson stands behind his work and is a gentleman. He also makes the most toneful and easy to tweak FX I have ever used. Top notch components and handcrafted true-bypass gig warriors.

Customer Support : 10
HL is a prince! I bought an Electric Smile and loved it. I wrote HL a coupla e-mails and he called me and talked shop for an hour! The best service you will find!

Overall Rating : 10
Can a Boost pedal receive a 10? When it offers two boost modes , true-bypass, high end circuitry and components and tone for days, it can. Add in HL's support and knowledge and I think these FX are some of the BEST out there....ever!

Just step on it! I still haven't found a bad setting on this pedal!

Sound Quality : 10
This pedal is very transparent, it fell nicely in to place with my existing gear.Rather than using it for a clean boost, I find I like it best as a gain enhancer. It also cleans up well from my guitars volume. I'am running either a Les Paul or a Tele thru a Vox Wah, TU2, and the Boostmaster into a '78 JMP 100w head (minus 2 tubes for 50w flexability)and for greenbacks. What a sound! ZZ Top to Randy Rhodes!

Just got it, But the insides are well designed and manufactured. Good components and quality work. What could go wrong?

I have developed a growing relationship with this company, and so far I like what I've seen.

Overall Rating : 10
If you are looking for some sort of boost pedal or just something to beef up the front end of a good amp, you definately want to give this a listen!
