This reverb box is easy to use right from the start, simply because it's not complicated at all. There's 16 different effect settings, with 16 variations of each, input/output levels, mix, and high/low EQ. there's also a signal strength LED. No digital menus, which makes it that much easier. I got it used w/o a manual, but the one I downloaded seemed pretty comprehensive and even went into different types of reverb and the causes of it.

The reverbs on this unit are some of the most realistic reverbs I have heard from an effects box. I use it in the FX loop of my Ampeg VH-140CH (see my review of this) because I like the reverbs better than the stock spring reverb in the amp. It is really quiet, there is very little background noise unless you really crank the output knob. I can't comment on the delays because they don't work on my unit. I knew this when I bought it, and it's why i got such a good price on it. It doesn't really matter to me anyway because I have another FX box (boss gx-700) that I use for chorus and delay. This combo works very well. With 256 different reverb presets, you probably won't be going through every one to find ones you like. They are all different, and you can tell the difference between the halls and rooms (it actually sounds like you're standing in a hall/room). I usually leave it on one of three settings, Chamber reverb #9, med. hall #9, or med. room #9. I recommend these with mix control at approximately 11 o'clock.

So far it's been very reliable. I've gigged with it and used it in my studio rack quite frequently, without any interuptions at all. The only thing I don't like is the fact that there's no on/off switch, but that's not a real big deal. I've had good experience with other alesis products, such as their SR-16 drum machine.

this is a great reverb unit, and you can probably find one for a good price used since they came out with the microverb IV. I highly recommend it. It's a great quality piece of equipment, and it can't be beat for the money I paid. It is extremely versatile and I use it for everything from funk guitar to metal to hammond organ to drums to whole mixes, and it fits everything well. If it got stolen I'd try to find another one. The stereo ins/outs on it really help expand the sounds too.

Very simple. I am something of a Alesis-aholic. and this was the first one I got. Although there is no way to adjust the parameters of any of the effects... There is a high and low EQ which for me is better in some applications. This feature is the reason I am writing this review. It is not mentioned in any of the other reviews and is an important addition and unique to this device.

It would not be my first choice for critical applications, however I keep it in my recording rack (for guitar). It is stone quiet and as I do a lot of faux steel guitar rverb is an important componant of my sound. I print my Fx to tape unless the engineer or producer refuses to allow it (even then I sometimes run a seperate send on another track) so the quality must be right there -- for guitar it is.

Bought it in 1990 i think and have used it ever since. It has been left plugged in for weeks at a time and has never let me down. The only thing I had to do was replace the power supply -- Not due to failer but do to the fact that I lost it somewhere on the road. One note... I would recommend getting a spare wall wart as it is not a standard unit. It fit saveral of my Alesis units so I keep a couple around just in case ( I loose another ).

Now that these units are around for silly $$$ absolutely grab one or two. If I ever see one used I know I will. BTW I just snagged a Nanoverb for $75.00 andn it is great but for guitar I still like the Micro better.

Very easy to use. Effect knob 1-16 and variation knob 1-16.

Sound quality is OK, but you can hear noise buildup on delays, and some erratic reverb stuff. For a suprisingly good reverb, try Chamber 9 or so! Large halls don't quite cut it though. If you're just starting out, you could get good results using this as your primary reverb on the aforementioned Chamber type preset.

I wouldn't pay over 100 for this, but if you're buying your first FX box, this could could do reverb suprisingly well!

The Microverb is about as simple as it gets. No fancy stuff, just the basics. It's perfect for my home studio.

Aside from a bit of hiss on some of the heavier multitaps, the sound is great!

Always on the ball, the Microverb has been dropped a few times and still sounds new.

This machine makes my 4-track recordings sound very professional. It's without a doubt, the best in it's class. I would reccommend it to anyone I know.
