I purchased the second revision of this product. I installed it in about 25 minutes on a Music Man John Petrucci. I used the video for my install guide. Minus the different design, I figured out how the new style works. PRINT INSTRUCTIONS OUT! It would have cut my install time down to 15 minutes~! With patience the tremol no works. I'm not sure if the people who are ripping on this product, have no experience changing strings or what, but it does exactly what it says. Installs easy, and works! I'm going to buy several more.

Can't really say much here. I don't notice the extra sustain, but I may need to make a few more adjustments. When setup properly, you don't know it's there.

Reliability : No Opinion
Have not had it long enought to really comment to be honest here...but it feels very robust. After installing I went and switched between the postion modes and dropped d tuning on top of it. Again, it works. Great at that.

EXCELLENT. Here is someone who stands behind their product.

I made a phone call the night I was doing the install because of the different "style" vs the demo install. I got a call back that evening from Keven. I have read some of the forums and think some people are not being fair. This is a new product, there isn't much history on it, etc. I do technical support. Every widgit can have issues...it's how the issue gets resovled that matters to me.

I have no reservations about buying more product from Tremol No.
Great support.

I have used just about every locking trem out there. I own a couple of Univere's, Jem's and a few Music Man's. I installed the drop d tuna on a couple of them. So far this seems to be the better option for me. Much easier and flexible.

Eese of use: I second the below review, it has no use for my Strat style beveled tremolo unless I square! It's unbelievable the Manufacturer claims a 98% fit to almost all trems out there....

Sound Quality : No Opinion
It could add sustain but never will know as it can't be connected to my tremolo.

Ok, let's get something straight: The retard two entries below me needs to get a clue. THIS DEVICE IS FOR FLOYD ROSE EQUIPPED GUITARS. What kind of idiot would put this unit on a vintage style, non locking, fulcrum tremmed Strat? Apparently that jackass is among us. Hey dude, first learn how to read instructions, then come back to do a review.

I put this unit on one of my Caparison Horus custom guitars. This guitar is worth $2,500, so i wasn't about to install anything on it that was going to screw up the finish. You don't need to drill any holes in your guitar to install this thing, so that's definitely a good thing. If you love Floyd Roses, but also love fixed bridges, this device is for you. You can go from a full floating trem to a fixed bridge in 2 seconds. This comes in handy if you're playing live and your Floyd is giving you problems. We all know that sometimes shit happens and your Floyd just isn't sitting right. Slightly out of tune etc. This really sucks if you're about to go onstage. Being out of tune with your other guitar play makes you look like an ass. With a few twists of a couple thumbscrews, you can lock the bridge down and tune it up to where it should be at, and get through the gig without being embarassed and out of tune. You'll have to skip the dive bombs since it's locked, but it's a small price to pay. That's the main reason why i like this device. It's like a Floyd Rose safety net. Like i said, if the floyd is out of tune, and you need to be onstage and rocking, lock the shit and get on with it. Or if you just own one guitar with a Floyd, you can put this puppy on, lock it up, and do blues bends all day and night without the Floyd slipping on you and falling out of tune. It's really a great product. I was hoping for something like this for at least 5 years before it came along. I absolutely love it.

Sound Quality : No Opinion
It doesn't effect the tone of the guitar. It doesn't interfere with the normal floatation of the bridge either. You don't even notice it's installed unless it's in it's locked position.

Reliability : 10
I have gigged with it in it's fully locked state. It stayed just where it was supposed to be over the course of our 45 min set. It didn't let me down. I trust it 100%.

Never needed to contact them.

I play everything from Arch Enemy to Van Halen. I am 100% satisfied with this product. I'm putting them on all of my floyd rose guitars.

Its as simple as twisting a few thumb screws. You have two main thumb screws and One for the deep C which allows to put it in DIve only mode.

Sound Quality : 8
This thing when setup correctly will help to increase sustain because it gives a firm base to the tremolo to help the vibrations. Other than that if you have it setup, you shouldnt get any sound out of it.

Reliability : 9
Again if you can get it set up and installed correctly, it is a very reliable piece of equipment. I have had some troubles getting it set up but once I got it the way I wanted it, it worked Beautifully.

In other businesses they will create a product and then have underlings handle the tech support. Not with the Tremol-No. You can actually talk to the creator of this thing via the Tremol-No forums.

Overall Rating : 10
My overal opinion of this thing is that it is positively the best Piece of equipment you can buy for a floating trem. It makes tuning and string changing a breeze. It also allows for so much variations in tunings while on stage. If this thing was stolen, I would kill someone because if they spent the time to remove just this thing, then they have more time then intelligence. All and all I think this thing is great and with every floating trem guitar I get, I will have one of these.

The front and back sides of the spring block on the American Series Strat are not square with each other, the back side being angled so there is more travel room, allowing for deeper dives. This is common on other Strat style brands, makes and models as well. This creates a MAJOR problem because the 'jaws' of the receiver cannot grasp or grip it, allowing the jaws slip off simply by tilting the guitar back. To keep this from happening, it's necessary to put the cover back on the guitar to hold the jaws in place. If the set screw is tightened in an attempt to hold the jaws on the block, because of the angle of the rear side of the block, the jaws only slip and ride up and off the block. To correct this, it is necessary that the block have sides that are square with each other. Even then, it still may not be workable because with a lot of tremolo action, the jaws would probably work their way off. I can't figure a way to adequately secure the jaws on the tremolo block. So...to hold the jaws in place, I had to put the cover back on to force the jaws on the block. This in turn causes the block to move, throwing off the tuning and intonation.
The thumbscrews on the receiver and the Deep C rise above the spring cavity by almost 1/64" making it so that when the cover is put in place to hold the receiver jaws in place, the tremolo block again moves slightly forward and throwing off the tuning/intonation. I tried removing the Deep C but that doesn't help since the other two thumbscrews are also part of the problem. Even if this is corrected, the problem of the angled tremolo block above still remains.
The jaws of the receiver also fit over the tremolo block so that the holes where the strings fit into the tremolo block are partially covered and re-stringing is impossible without removing the jaws from the block, requiring the removal of the cover holding the jaws in place because the jaws slip off the angled tremolo block. This is a slow and tedious process (especially if the rest of the band and the crowd are waiting).
Because the cover is in place holding the receiver jaws on the tremolo block, it has to be removed to lock/unlock the unit making it impossible to quickly switch back and forth between the hard-tail mode and the tremolo functions, defeating the basic purpose of quick switching the Tremol-No on and off.
What a nightmare...good grief!

Sound Quality : 3
To be honest, the unit does improve sustain considerably...if the tremol-no device stays in place and does what the marketing claims state. But that is a moot point due to all the other problems inseparable with it being installed on the guitar.

Reliability : 1
With an angled tremolo block, it is entirely dysfuntional and undependable. I'd have to be nuts to take it on a gig...even if there were twenty back-ups!

Customer Support : 1
I emailed them with the above observations and have as yet not heard back from them. Maybe they will get back to me. But, if I were marketing a new product, I'd be ready with immediate assistance.

Overall Rating : 1
Been playing since 1967. I play blues, rock, r & b. If it were lost: who cares. If it were stolen, the thief deserves the headaches. See my above observations. IF this item actually secured the tremolo unit without interfering with the tuning and intonation, and IF the item stayed put and didn't slip off the angled Tremolo block and IF it didn't get in the way of restringing...it would be a really hot item. But...it simply doesn't do what the claims state when there is an angled tremolo block in the guitar. These guys should know this and, if they really don't, they did almost NO pre-production research. The package it comes in claims: 'Works on most trems made since 1954!' This is pure bunk and marketing hype. I should add that it...MAY...work on guitars with a tremolo block that is completely square on both sides. And, it...MAY...not be in the way of re-stringing. But that's certainly and most definitely not the case on a Strat with an angled block. BUYER BEWARE! Get it IN WRITING that you can return it and get your money back if it doesn't function as stated on the package and in the marketing claims on the web or wherever.
